R&B superstar Beyonce spent some time in the drink Friday afternoon in sunny Miami Beach. The 27-year-old former member of Destiny’s Child is one of a plethora of boldfacers in SoFla this week. Beyonce is scheduled to be honored at the Miami Children’s Hospital Diamond Ball late Saturday at the American Airlines Arena downtown Miami.

R&B precursors Smokey Robinson and Gloria Gaynor were expected to join her at the $10,000-a-table gala. Beyonce’s hubby, hip-hop mogul Jay-Z, is there as well. He’s scheduled to do some entertaining Sunday afternoon at Miami’s Bayfront Park at a Barack Obama rally. The cast of American Idol, meanwhile, is visiting the Magic City for the second time in a month. Host Ryan Seacrest has been chilling on Miami Beach. Judge Randy Jackson has been spending a lot of time on the Key Biscayne tennis courts while grumpy judge Simon Cowell has been laying low. Word is they’re holding quiet auditions.
