O.J. galpal slapped with $186,000 hospital lien
As fallen football great O.J. Simpson faces life in prison for a robbery conviction in Las Vegas, his longtime girlfriend at home in SoFla faces financial trouble.
Christie Prody, a dead-ringer for Simpson’s murdered ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson, has just been slapped with a lien for $186,337.75 in unpaid hospital bills.
What happened?
Prody, 33, who lives in Simpson’s newest home in Kendall, was airlifted to the Ryder Trauma Center at Miami’s Jackson Memorial in May after a strange accident on the Don Shula Expressway.
Prody pulled over her two-door Mitsubishi on an emergency lane after she noticed the vehicle had two flat tires. For unknown reasons, she then tried to walk across six lanes of traffic and was hit by a car. The impact was so violent that her torso and arms went through the windshield.
An empty Smirnoff bottle and her Shitzu were found in her parked car.
According to the boss at the law firm that filed the lien on behalf of the hospital, she may never have to settle the IOU.
Universal health care anyone?
“A hospital lien is usually against the proceeds of a personal injury action,” said Stephen Bacen in Lauderdale. “So, the hospital would collect only if the liened person wins a lawsuit against the party who injured that person.”
There’s no record of the blonde bombshell filing a lawsuit in connection with the accident.
Prody, who has a history of drug and alcohol abuse, is accident prone. In February, she fell on concrete while filling her car at a gas station. She was taken to Baptist Hospital of Miami with severe head injuries amid quickly dispelled rumors that the Buffalo Bills great roughed her up.
Two months ago, Prody reportedly was bopped upside the head by The Juice’s adult daughter Arnelle during an argument over Prody’s drinking.
Prody couldn’t be reached for comment.

These medical bills should be paid under the vehicles no fault insurance which hit her. Once those limits are used up her car insurance no fault coverage can be used as a secondary coverage. Any thing left after that would then be picked up by her health insurance. If she didn’t have any health insurance then she would be responsible for balance.
Actually, her own auto insurance policy’s benefits would pay, but only 80% up to $10,000. Although, something tells me she probably doesn’t have car insurance….
Florida is a no fault state, she should have filed a claim with her auto carrier, then her health insurance if any. The person who hit her should not be liable. What in the world was she doing on the highway if she was pulled off to side of the road. She needs to pay the bill!!! Was she intoxicated? Hmmmmmm. If she was the driver of the car that hit her could sue her.
I really don’t think that ANYONES insurance is going to pay for the stupid actions of a drunk. If she was over the legal limit they won’t pay. But guess what? We Do! Taxpayers to the rescue. Put this piece of human garbage in OJ’s lap and pull the switch.
