Ivana Trump and new hubby splitsville
Remember Palm Beach’s wedding-of-the-year?
The scene: Mar-a-Lago.
The time: The picture-perfect evening of April 12.
The players: Jet-setter Ivana Trump and little-known Italian actor Rossano Rubicondi.
He shouted “Finally!” after they exchanged $1 million rings before the likes of actors George Hamilton, Brigitte Nielsen, Robin Leach and Dr. Ruth Westheimer.
There were whispers that night that the 59-year-old Trump and her 36-year-old Italian stallion wouldn’t last, even though this was the former Mrs. Donald Trump’s fourth march – count’em, four – down the aisle.
Well, notch one for the ugly whisperers!
In an e-mail to Page2Live this morning, Trump announced she officially separated from Rubicondi three months ago – a grand total of four months after they were hitched.
“Reports that I have been having marital problems with Rossano Rubicondi are true,” Trump wrote. “I never wanted to mislead anyone, but in fact I filed a legal separation agreement three months ago.”
What happened? Geography, the still-bouncy Czech says.
“Rossano wants to live in Miami and work in Milan. I like both cities, Miami for weekends, and Milan to see friends and go shopping. But, I am a New Yorker and my family, friends and businesses are here.
“As the beautiful song says, ‘Que sera sera!’”
Things never seemed that rosy for the couple. Friends reported plenty of fights in the six years they dated.
And there was serious drama in the days leading to the wedding.
Trump and Rubicondi were locked in bitter, 11th-hour pre-nuptial negotiations.
And Trump called Palm Beach Police to her home on St. Patrick’s Day during an argument. Rubicondi had tripped a burglar alarm while trying to sneak in about midnight. He told his betrothed that he’d been playing tennis. She didn’t like the answer.
Rubondi spent the rest of that night elsewhere — as he apparently did his wedding night, according to a friend of Trump’s.
“We all called it,” said West Palm Beach socialite Gale Brophy, a horse-breeder who was at the wedding. “Everybody knew this would happen. But I feel sad. Ivana is a lovely woman.
“She’s too good for the guy. He went to Miami Beach with his friends the night of the wedding, for God’s sake. He was text-messaging throughout the wedding dinner. He’s a joke.”
After a short honeymoon in the Indian Ocean island nation of The Maldives, the couple was back in the news when word leaked that Rubicondi cheated on Trump with a co-star on an Italian Survivor-style TV show.
In her e-mail, Trump wrote she filed for separation long before that incident but kept quiet in order to protect Rubicondi’s chances to win the show. He didn’t.
Cougar Trump, meanwhile, was spotted in at least two charity galas in New York this fall with Belgian model Marius Rusovici. Trump called the 23-year-old her boyfriend but later said she was just kidding.
Trump is scheduled to head to Palm Beach within the next few days.

Why is it intelligent, educated women make stupid mistakes like this all the time? Is the need to have a man in their life so strong that brains go out the window? Who is surprised at this news?
STW
I question the lack of common sense of many successful people such as Ivanna.. They have an outstanding business sense but when it comes to their personal lives, they make the wrong decisions virtually every time!! Some people can make the best financial decisions yet make the worst possible decisions in finding a spouse and obviously Ivanna has that problem…You mean to tell me, that with the ability to travel the world and meet people from around the globe, you cannot seem to “find” the one who would treat you with something as simple as the word ‘RESPECT”?? Perhaps, Ivanna, you stop by Taboo, Amici’s or Hamburger Heaven, I’ll not only buy your meal, but treat you with the respect and dignity that you obviously haven’t received from your previous companions…
He participated in a “reality show” produced in Italy called ” L’isola dei famosi” it’s like our Survivors only with “celebreties” - He’s now the talk of the hour up there. Why he married him? I remain clueless, I ask the same when Paul McCartney married (what’s her name?)
She could have this guy for as long as she was feeding him, why make it legal?
She is better without him. She’s not ugly but he certainly wasn’t it for her or her looks.
this was so prodectible…..they didn’t have living arrangements made before they got married? I remember reading how they argued before they got married. I said at the time….it’ll never last. Didn’t think it would be so soon
This ongoing infatuation of older women looking and even marrying younger men usually ends in disaster. A young man looks for notoreity - and money - if the woman has some economic means. Every young “stud” that I know and who is dating a “seasoned” lady has a girlfriend his age on the side. Let’s be realistic, and perhaps a little bit crude: is it attractive and pleasurable for a young man to caress a leg wrapped in skin covered with celullite, or massage a pair of flaccid breasts? or go in a dry cavity, when there are plenty of fine, hot, young women with velvet skin, firm breasts, moist ….., oh my God! Old ladies: stop looking ridiculous and deceiving yourselves with this idea that it is OK to have a boyfriend 20 or 30 years your junior. Sooner or later you will awake to the harsh reality of this world. And the awakening can be quite painful.
What a waste of money … think of the financial potential that for one could have assisted the local hungry/homeless in her own community instead of a lavish wedding doomed for failure from the beginning. Tisk-tisk Ivana - you’ll get no sympathy from me.
These are an example of the spirit of the age, which is, “if the toys are available to you, go ahead and play … and then make believe that you haven’t hurt anyone.” The truth is, however, that the weakest ones are almost always the ones hurt. But they’re not the only ones. Those who think they’re strong are hurt too because every time they throw away another play thing, their hearts are hardened a little more. And we’ve made a complete and utter mockery of marriage and love.
I am laughing so hard. If it were a man who seduced, lured or married a much younger woman, I suspect some of you would be cheering him on and saying more power to him. Gotta love that double standard. Unless you know these two people personally, who are you to judge?
Give me a break #8 … when you cast yourself into the public eye such as she, then your judgment becomes free domain. So what makes you different from being judgmental regarding the “if it were a man” comment, hmmm? Keep laughing
My question is why is this so imporant to the world that it is one of the headlines on the Post? Did anyone think it would last or care? With all the news in the world, this is what the Post felt was imporant? I would think the space could have been used for more important things.
SHAME on the Palm Beach Post.
I can’t understand why someone with so much going for her is still insecure. It is obvious that she is following her Ex’s bad example of going through spouses like people go through under-ware. The only reason why she would pick such a young guy is because of the “keeping of with the Joneses” mentality and feeling unimportant if she can’t have a hunk on her shoulder. This is so superficial. She is in denial. She must really know that he is only after the money. How pathetic! If only people like her would spend more time thinking of others than obsessing about themselves. I wish them both the best. Mostly, I hope she finds someone she can bond with because it is nice to share the “older years” with someone who genuinely cares for you. The only catch is that you have to genuinely care for that other person.
Why is she still called Ivana TRUMP? Didn’t they get divorced? She’s been married four times, yet retains the Trump name. What a joke. And what bad reporting by the Palm Beach Post.
THIS JOSE LAMBIERT CLOWN NEEDS TA GET A LIFE OF HIS OR HER OWN!!WHO CLD POSSIBLY GIVE A DAMN BOUT SOME WRINKLED UP HOE!!!
Happily Married, do you live in OZ?
Hey here’s an idea…how about all these rich indulgent people take the time to really think about what they are doing and oh …I don’t know…..give the money to food-banks…..or shelters……do something useful for once?
wow did anyone realize we are in a recession, people are losing thier homes. But lets give our energy to these people who can only feed, off the media and not really offer us anything but a smile, and maybe a charity walk. what has our society become we are the joke of the world
the Palm Beach Post should have to pay a dollar per word to a local chairty every time they print this rubbish……..atleast then something could would come from these idiot’s lifestyles…
Obviously people do care. That is why it’s in The Post.
But honestly, who did not see this one coming? Didn’t he choose “Just A Gigolo” as his song at the wedding? Eurotrash.
MAN OF THE WORLD??? “This ongoing infatuation of older women looking and even marrying younger men usually ends in disaster. Your opinions are interesting, but now picture some 70 year old, Viagara popping, limp weenied, arthritis wracked, bald, saggy old man with his 25 year old arm charm strolling along Worth Avenue… I bet you wouldn’t object to that (heck, you probably are him!!!)
Your description of an older woman evokes a lot of subliminated anger. Did your mommy throw you out after high school and tell you to earn your own living? Grow up kiddo, this is the new millenium and older women are free to do what old, old men have been doing for generations. Get used to it.
This is all funny and quite honestly I’m only here for the entertainment. Did anyone care to notice that she ALREADY has another man in her life???? Well afterall, it IS the season … what a HO-HO-HO!
re: http://www.page2live.com/2008/12/02/mr-perfect-ivanas-new-man-writes-poetry/ … sad.
The Terminator franchise is what got me interested in the movies in the first place. The first was a suspenseful cyberpunk thriller, and the second became my favorite movie of all time. The third fell short of intelligence but still solid nonetheless, and the TV series was a good addition to the franchise. Nearing the end of May, the fourth and latest film addition of the beloved sci-fi franchise will open, and viewers are in for a sheer summer spectacle.
What a surprise!!!!!!!!!
