Which of these newsmen is dissing the guv?
- Hannity
- Blitzer
- Scarborough
A source in Tallahassee tells Page2Live that CNN anchorman Wolf Blitzer, MSNBC morning personality Joe Scarborough and Fox News pundit Sean Hannity were all asked to the nuptials.
Thing is, only one may be attending.
Ouch!
“Wolf Blitzer was indeed invited but he’s unable to attend,” said CNN Spokeswoman Edie Emery. “Wolf works six days a week, and he is on-the-air until 7 p.m. Friday.”
So, is the anchor of The Situation Room tight with the people’s governor?
“I don’t know if they’re friends, but the governor has been on Wolf’s program several times.”
He last appeared Nov. 13 to discuss the Republican debacle on Election Day.
Crist, however, made sure to “spread the wealth,” as President Elect Barack Obama would say: Someone from each of the main three news-peddling networks was invited.
At ABC Radio in New York, a gofer for high-pitched White House apologist Hannity says he won’t show up either.
“A wedding? Are you kidding? Sean doesn’t do weddings,” said an associate producer from his radio broadcast, Hannity’s daytime job. He also appears with Alan Colmes on Hannity & Colmes on Fox at 9 p.m. weekdays.
“He talks about how he hates wedding all the time on the radio.”
As for Scarborough?
Neither he nor his people are talking. But Scarborough’s early morning job in NYC wouldn’t prevent a trip south.
Plus, Scarborough is a former Florida politico who has known Crist for years. Scarborough was a U.S. congressman from Pensacola in the mid-’90s, before he ended up on-air and eventually as anchor of Morning Joe on MSNBC.
Crist has been a frequent visitor to Scarborough’s programs, too. The latter even defended Crist in August when talking-heads on another show included Crist in a discussion on the realistic national aspirations for unmarried politicians.
Scarborough was visibly uneasy when NBC Political Director Chuck Todd wisecracked that Crist would get dis-engaged if the then-presidential candidate John McCain didn’t pick him for VP.
Crist’s spokeswoman, Erin Isaac, said she had no idea who was, or not, on the wedding’s guest list.
