Disgraced former U.S. Rep. Mark Foley has been thrown out of better places, I’m sure, and not just because of the heinous plaid jacket he wore.
Foley and his lover, dermatologist Layne Nisenbaum, were unceremoniously bounced from the Cartier Christmas party on Palm Beach’s Worth Avenue earlier this month.
Two eyewitnesses told Page2Live that Foley, who resigned from his congressional seat two years ago after he was caught e-mailing sweet nothings to young pages, was actually just an innocent bystander in a squabble between society skin-smoother Nisenbaum and an unidentified partygoer.
But since Foley had come in with Dr. Layne, he, too, was taken out by security guards.
The party, one of many on the famed street at Christmas time, doubled as a fund-raiser for Palm Beach Opera.
So, what happened?
I’m told Nisenbaum dissed some rich guy’s wife. Not the smartest thing to do. When things escalated, Nisenbaum threw champagne at the guy. And the guy put Nisenbaum in a headlock over a jewelry counter before guards intervened.
Besides egos, no one was hurt.
Neither Foley nor Nisenbaum returned calls. Store director Craig Dickmann said he didn’t witness the incident but said he was told about it.
“We hire additional security for the party,” he said, without commenting further.
It seems that tempers are flaring on the not-so-merry island these days. A couple days after the Cartier incident, another dispute between philanthropists Bob Jaffe and Jerome Fisher exploded at a Mar-a-Lago birthday party. Wasn’t over a woman this time. Only the $150 million that Fisher invested with indicted Wall Streeter Bernie Madoff.
I don’t know what is worse—Mark Foley or the Dr. How dare any man, especially a Doctor, throw beverage on a lady!!! Doctors think their s— don’t stink and look at how they behave! That man should have that Dr. arrested! Creepy Doctor and his boyfriend! Why don’t they just stay home instead of trying to mingle with the real wealthy upstanding people they wish they were!
She is reported to be a scank and not a woman worth defending. Rich people of such poontags. The doctor has more class in his small toe than any of these losers.
didnt the story say he threw the liquid at the gentleman and not the female? Im glad all those rich bastards got ripped off by Madoff. Let them live like the other half for once. Im sure they didnt earn all that money with integerity anyways.

why would any of the unfortunate people deserve to lose a dime to madoff as previously suggested. regardless of how they earned the money, they dont deserve to be stolen from.
worldwide charitable donations that help poor people will suffer for decades. this is not something to scoff at.
