Memo to soon-to-be Jupiter Island resident Celine Dion: This ain’t Vegas, baby!

Whatever happens in suburban Florida isn’t likely to stay there.

It may be an optical illusion. But it seems the Canadian songbird, 40, could have used a couple more inches of fabric on her Friday night when she showed off her devine legs, I mean voice, on the stage of the BankAtlantic Center near Fort Lauderdale.

Now, if you want to see what La Dion looks like off-duty, check out our photo of her shopping trip on the chi-chi Worth Avenue Thursday in Palm Beach by clicking on the link below.

The lowdown . . .

. . . County star Alan Jackson apparently didn’t get tired enough from his gig at the Kiss Country Chili Cookoff Sunday afternoon in Broward. A nightscape spywitness tells me Jackson, a resident of Jupiter Island, motored back north in a limo and hit the stage at the Square Grouper in Jupiter for an impromptu two-hour set. Jackson even invited surprised barflies to sing along on stage. That’s when he wasn’t buying rounds for everybody . . .

. . . Cabaret singer Sylvia McNair will take advantage of her presence in Palm Beach for a slew of concerts at The Colony to sing for the participants of Saturday’s Komen Race for the Cure in West Palm Beach. I’m told the two-time Grammy winner is scheduled to perform at the post-race ceremony. McNair herself is a breast cancer survivor . . .

I hear that Palm Beach billionaire Wilbur Ross’ $7 million purchase of the Indiantown-based First Bank and Trust Co. two weeks ago was put together by none other than disgraced former U.S. Rep. Mark Foley.

Ka-ching!

Foley’s been dabbling in real estate since he resigned from his seat in 2006 when his blue e-mail to congressional pages surfaced.

Although the amount of Foley’s fee in the bank deal wasn’t available, Foley’s been telling friends that it more than makes up for his lack of steady income since his resignation.

Reached by telephone Thursday, Foley said he couldn’t comment.

Four days after her shocking appearance in South Florida, country singer Jessica Simpson squeezed into leather pants and addressed the wisecracks about her weight gain.

“Please remember, no matter what you go through in life, somebody else might have it harder,” she reportedly said during her Thursday night show in Charlottesville, Va. “I feel like in our world today, we focus on so many things that are completely pointless. Thank you for your support. Stay positive, and pray out loud!”

Tanned and rested, Palm Beach rocker Rod Stewart performed one of only two U.S. dates on his world tour Wednesday at the Seminole Hard Rock Resort in Hollywood. The second date is Friday.

Looking like a million bucks in his white tux-jacket, the 64-year-old singer of Maggie May and Tonight’s The Night was kicking off his 2009 tour. It’ll take him to Singapore, Bangkok, Japan and Europe through the summer.

West Palm Beach Commissioner Molly Douglas is facing foreclosure. She says the mortgage holder, Chase, is being uncooperative. A Chase spokesman says the bank is doing its best, and is helping homeowners getting out of tough spots.

West Palm Beach Commissioner Molly Douglas’ historic home is going through foreclosure.

But the 1949 abode in Northwood Shores likely won’t be sold for a song on the courthouse steps.

Douglas tells me she’s going in on Friday to pay in cash the $194,000 or so that she still owes. She says she cashed in her investment account.

“Chase (Home Finance) won’t even return my calls,” she said. “The bottom line is, no matter how good your relationship with your bank, they won’t work with you. And by the way, my (tax) money is also bailing them out. I’m pretty irritated.” (Read more…)

Clay Aiken performs Monday night at Mirasol

Unbeknownst to many in this area, former American Idol star Clay Aiken put together a golf fund-raiser for his foundation this week in Palm Beach Gardens.

The singer of This Is The Night, who rose to fame by coming in second in the controversial finale of A.I.’s second season, raised $100,000 at the Mirasol Country Club.

North Carolinian Aiken, 30, who declared himself a “gay dad” last fall after the birth of his son, Parker, also performed for a crowd of about 200 at the Mirasol ballroom Monday night.

Candace Bushnell at Mia Matthews' Bling Thing

Candace Bushnell at Bling Thing

Nearly 270 women attended Tuesday’s It’s A Bling Thing luncheon at Mar-a-Lago, where titillating keynote speaker Candace Bushnell talked about orgasms.

I guess she can. After all, she wrote Sex and the City.

The $300-per Palm Beach shindig was to benefit KidSanctuary.

The ladies did learn something about Bushnell: She apparently isn’t sure whether she’s ever had an orgasm!

As for how organizers paid Bushnell’s $15,000-plus speaker’s fee, I’m told they booked her when the economy was still somewhat decent.

Singer Island’s Clarence Clemons Super Bowl bound

The Big Man’s going to the Super Bowl.

Bad knees and all, E Street Band sax player Clarence Clemons will be on the 50 yard-line stage at halftime of Sunday’s game between the Arizona Cardinals and Pittsburgh Steelers in Tampa.

As they have thousands of times before, he and the band will be backing up superstar rocker Bruce Springsteen.

Only this time, hundreds of millions will be watching Springsteen’s much-awaited set on their tube.

Page2Live ran into Singer Islander Clemons Sunday night at the Seminole Hard Rock Resort, where he held his yearly gala to benefit the Lake Worth children’s charity Home Safe.

“I can’t talk about the songs we’re playing, other than there’ll be a song from the new album,” he said, adding that the band has been rehearsing in Manhattan. “But I’m very excited about that gig. I’m just shocked at the teams that are going to play.”

More photos after the jump.
