Source: Libido-struck Mahoney may soon be cleared
As his only term in the U.S. House ends, Tim Mahoney is unlikely be charged criminally for placing a mistress on the federal payroll, a source close to the FBI investigation into Mahoney told Page2Live.
The feds, who aren’t commenting, have been checking into Hobe Sound mom Patricia Allen’s work for Mahoney at his Palm Beach Gardens federal office in 2007.
Their questions included whether Allen, a former campaign worker and one of Mahoney’s lovers, had a no-show job.
The G-men recently interviewed both Allen and Mahoney: They found no smoking gun that could potentially send Mahoney to prison, according to the source.
“And they won’t find anything,” said the source. “Tricia worked her butt off for Mahoney. There’s nothing there. She earned her keep.
“They’re about to close the file. FBI agents never clear someone. They just close the case.”
That, however, doesn’t mean that Mahoney’s out of his libido-induced legal entanglements.
Allen, 50, threatened to sue Mahoney for intimidation and sexual harassment last year when she was fired from his office. She never filed because she and Mahoney settled secretly in the spring. The deal paid Allen $121,000. She was also to receive two years worth of salary, for a total of $106,000. That, Mahoney claimed, was to come from a job at his political consulting firm in Nashville, Fletcher Rowley. But after the scandal exploded in the middle of a heated campaign eventually won by West Palm Beach lawyer Tom Rooney, Fletcher dissociated itself from Mahoney.
As of today, Allen has no job, and no $106,000.
Although Allen’s lawyer, Gregory Coleman, wouldn’t comment, I’m told by someone close to Allen that she’s considering a breach-of-contract lawsuit against Mahoney.
Mahoney’s recent history seems to be paved with broken promises. His soon-to-be-ex-wife, Terry Mahoney, is accusing him in fresh divorce documents of breaking their house-sharing agreement. She also claims he took a paramour to a Canadian skiing trip while swearing he wants Terry back. Also, according to the documents, he stopped his bi-monthly support checks to Terry, a homemaker.
Tim Mahoney couldn’t be reached and his spokeswoman didn’t return calls.
Said Mahoney’s attorney, Joel Feldman: “Of course he won’t (be charged). There was never an issue of criminality, just as he said.”

Ok, we are narrowing down the issues related to Mahoney and illegality. If in fact he didn’t use “ofice” funds to pay her off that leaves us with only two other potentially illegal options.
The FIRST is that it was a gift. If it was a gift exceeding $12,000 Mahoney is required by tax law (you know the ones that the Democrats love) to file a gift tax return and pay all related gift taxes.
The SECOND is that is is not a gift, but a payment for “services” (these are the only two options under the law friends). If it is for the payment of services it would be incumbent on her to file her tax return to included the proceeds as taxable income.
In short there is tax due in her somewhere either from him or her depending on how they characterize the disbursement, but the clearly illegal thing is to ignor eiter of the two options and not file at all, which I suppose is the case, but we won’t know until their taxes are due on April 15 unless the press doesn’t bother to clarify the matter…………..
The photo of the people protesting Mahoney reads “Your Fired, Tim.” That grammar error is pathetic. Read a book.
