Even Jupiter Island neighbors are nosy

Chances are, Canadian songbird Celine Dion won’t be getting a plate of chocolate chip cookies from neighbors when she moves into her new Jupiter Island digs in the fall.
Word is the singer of My Heart Will Go On got on the horn the other day to complain to the tony Martin County island’s tiny police department that some of her curious neighbors were coming on her property to watch the construction of her new digs.
She described for the cops how she spotted – Horreur! Malheur! – a couple on a golf cart who dared drive on the compound, which includes Dion’s yet-to-be-finished 9,800-square-foot Key West-style home.
Although Jupiter Island Public Safety boss Ted Gonzales wasn’t available for comment, a source close to the situation said police eventually tracked down the very proper intruders and asked them nicely to stay off the property.
The security-conscious singer and hubby, Rene Angelil, hope to move in by next fall, on time for their son Rene-Charles to attend a private school in the Jupiter area.
Dion’s reps in Montreal didn’t comment.

If you were building a house and there were people on the construction site, you would want them removed too. If they get hurt, you get sued. Celine is a most gracious person who has always been kind to everyone. When she lived in Palm Beach Gardens and shopped at the Publix in PGA, she would stop to sign autographs for anyone who asked, and was never rude or “starlike” to anyone. She deserves her privacy and not to be pilloried by anyone for it. Give her a break!
I am very familure with the Island and the way things are done. Although the neighbors are nosy (they have no life with all that money), Celine may have thought they were paparazzi and called the police. No big deal.
Pilloried is a big word. Leave this family alone. I would call the police too if someone showed up on my property on a golf cart. These are good people and we should welcome them. Lord knows we need more like them.

If you think Jupiter Island’s police department is “tiny” then just cross the double line. You’ll see just how “tiny” they are. They don’t take any crap from non-residents.

Lucky You!! Anyone that has ever had the pleasure of knowing or dealing with Celine will attest that she is one of the classiest, kindest persons you could meet. That goes for her staff too. I miss her in Admirals Cove. I was lucky enough sell her some antiques and she was always so nice. Florida is a better place with her here.
Celine Dion is a worldwide celebrity, and as such, she and her family must always be alert to security of their property and surroundings. These nosey neighbors may have been just that, but what if they were not just nosey neighbors? There are people who are looking for high quality targets all the time,and pretending to be a neighbor, just to get the layout of the property is not just a hollywood script writers imagination. Ms Dion does not deserve the “snarky” attitude exhibited by the writer of this article. Let her enjoy her family and new home in peace and quite.

Bear in-mind it was probably as likely that the call to authorities was made by the general contractor on the jobsite as someone on MS Dion’s staff. Neither the contractor, or Ms Dion can afford the potential lawsuit that exists with an unsecured jobsite.
As grand as it is, the Celine Dion homestead is modest in comparison to other properties currently under construction on the island.
The most interesting part of this story is that the Palm Beach Post put it on their front page! Come on guys - slow news day or what? There has to be some real news out there somewhere. If I wanted to read this kind of junk, there are plenty of websites that do better than this.
Dion will be kissing their asses after she moves in to her home on Jupiter Island. The place can get very cold for unwanted outsiders. Especially the nouve riche, do gooders like herself. Ice water runs through the veins of Jupiter Island’s “Old Guard.”

She came from NOTHING and now acts like EVERYONE is beneath her? Come on lady, get a reality check. Your not the only family in the world. I think people should leave her alone. Whether you like her or not, she decided to build a home there, and as long as she doesn’t make a fuss or cause problems for the other residents, she should be accepted.
She is hardly alone after all. This time of year South Florida is full of French Canadians, she is only one of many! You only have to go to the beaches in palm Beach or Broward to see all the “Quebec” plates. You can’t blame them for wanting to escape the cold…
I would have called the police too. This is how the ouple’s lawsuit would have read. “We were just trespassing on her property trying to get a better look, when all of a sudden we drove into an uncoverd hole. I can’t play golf,checkers,or cards anymore, my wife has suffered a loss of consanquinity and is having nightmares.She(DION)should have done more to protect us.”

I can’t believe all of the rude things that are being said about her! She is an incredible person, and has been through so much in her life. Yes, she did come from having not so much to having everything. She has worked so hard to achieve and uphold the amazing reputation that she has among her FANS. She deserves everything that she has. She went through hell when her husband had cancer. She selflessly (momentarily) retired to be by his side to see him through it, and wasn’t in the tabloids for ages. She persevered through all of the hard times and was finally rewarded when she got pregnant for the child she always wanted. And when she returned, she made an incredible comeback. While in Vegas, she set records for the number of nights she sold out at Caesar’s Palace for over 700 nights!! She’s moving back to Jupiter because she wants to and privacy is the only thing she’s asking for. Why is that so hard for everyone to understand? Yes, there is a beautiful mansion being built around the corner…of course everyone wants to see it. But really, what’s one more beautiful mansion on that island? If you’re native, you know the lifestyle. And if you’re a neighbor, then you definitely know the lifestyle. Go soak up the glory of you’re own palace and leave hers alone while it’s in the making…my family knows her and her husband. They are lovely people. And if those nosey neighbors hadn’t been so disrespectful, she more than likely would have invited them over for dinner and they would have been able to see the INSIDE of her home. All they want is privacy and security to start building foundation for their new life back in Florida with their son. It really isn’t a lot to ask. And it surely isn’t hard to respect.

I like the comments 6,12,13 and 18.. She deserve having a privacy.. She is a celebrity.. And they dont visit to anyone’s construction site until someone is not celebrity. Treat her as a normal person. So that she will have a privacy and so the others. If anything goes wrong at hr property to the people who visit. Who is to blame obviously Celine Dion..
