Former Miami Dolphins linesman Jason Taylor had his yearly charity fundraiser poolside at the Seminole Hard Rock resort in Hollywood Sunday night, and two of the greatest in their respective sports showed up.

On the left, former NHL superstar Mario Lemieux, who retired a Pittsburgh Penguin in 2006 with 1,723 points, including 690 goals. On the right, former Dolphin QB and NFL analyst Dan Marino, who passed for 420 TDs.

Others seen: Dolphins running-back Ronnie Brown, New England Patriots receiver Wesley Welker, former Fin O.J. McDuffie,  NFL point-scoring record holder Morten Andersen, *NSYNC’s Chris Kirkpatrick, former NBA star Craig Ehlo, and others . . .

Even if she’s on Bravo’s popular The Real Housewives of New York City, Ramona Singer shouldn’t expect her cheapskate ways to be tolerated.

At least, not in Palm Beach.

While the entrepreneur mom of one was treated like a princess in Miami Beach last week, she was actually asked to leave the VIP room at the new 251 Sunrise nightclub in Palm Beach Saturday night.

Why? She had a hard time parting with her cash!

I’m told by several sources that Singer first showed up with an entourage at the Boys & Girls wingding at The Breakers Beach Club. There, she and her gaggle of buds picked up an impressive number of coupons for free drinks for the after-party at 251 Sunrise.

Somehow, her crew later got in the nightclub’s VIP room, and the free booze flowed.

The tips were few and far between.

So, Singer & Co. were asked to move to another, more crowded part of the club. (Read more…)

Democrats promised an anti-Rush Limbaugh campaign in the radio hothead’s own hometown, and they’re delivering.

The Democratic National Committee is unveiling today its response to Conservative-in-chief’s statement earlier this year that he hoped President Barack Obama would fail. This truck is scheduled to pull into downtown West Palm Beach this morning, then drive all over the area for the rest of the week.

When Page2Live e-mailed Limbaugh the picture, he replied: “I honestly can’t figure out just who this billboard is criticizing. It appears to me as though the DNC may not be happy with President Obama’s takeover of GM/Chrysler.”

And he couldn’t help but sound off about the truck: “And that certainly doesn’t look like the kind of cheap, tiny Green Hybrid vehicle Obama Motors wants us all driving.” (Read more…)

There’s been a lot of talk at Channel 5-WPTV about News Director Peter Roghaar’s new set of wheels, a shiny BMW 7 Series.

Not only is the 745 LI an environmentally unsound gas guzzler, with 20 mph on the highway at best, but the smooth German-engineered car retails for $80,000 these days.

And that’s the point staffers have noticed.

Roghaar has been tightening the budget screw inside the station, with layoffs that included star anchorwoman Laurel Sauer, reporter Jesse Chavez and even the husband of morning anchorwoman Roxanne Stein, 20-year production veteran Steve Moss. He’s taken away company cars and forced reporters to lug their own cameras instead of pairing them with photographers.  

And all this, while telling viewers to stretch their own budgets. (Read more…)

Who else, but Paris Hilton, would take a stroll on the beach with high-heel shoes?

The heiress committed this South Florida no-no with her current beau, Doug Reinhardt. He’s a career baseball prospect who was in four episodes of MTV’s The Hills.

If you believe some published reports, the couple was involved in an altercation at Miami Beach’s LIV nightclub hours after their stroll because the D.J. wouldn’t play her song.

The rebirth of the legendary Palm Beach lounge 251 Sunrise was celebrated by more than 700 people packed like sardines but partying until this morning.

The crowd, including captains of industry, TV personalities, socialites, wannabes, neverweres, poseurs and tremendously gorgeous people, highlighted the need for such a place on The Island, where one of the only pleasures seems to be stiff black-tie fiestas in gilded hotel ballrooms.

The redesigned 251 Sunrise offers more of a Miami Beach look than when it shut down amid a neighborhood noise dispute in 2004. If you believe co-owner Gus Renny, who was also the original’s proprietor, the place is so soundproof  that even a bat wouldn’t hear the music from the sidewalk.

In the crowd: Skid Row drummer Rob Affuso; KOOL afternoon jock Tim Byrd; WPTV-Channel 5 personalities  Glenn Glazer, James Wieland, Jay Cashmere and Marci Gonzalez; philanthropist John Scarpa; and New York Post gossip Richard Johnson. The latter seemed to mind his Ps and Qs since his much-younger wife, Palm Beach product Sessa Von Richthofen, kept count of the shots of Belvedere he downed. She annoyingly stuck seven of her fingers in his face after he served himself again. I figured it was time to leave.

So, that’s where merengue superstar Elvis Crespo was headed when he allegedly got caught joining the mile-high club, solo, on a flight from Houston: the red carpet of Univision’s Musica Latina Awards at BankUnited Center in Coral Gables.

Despite the embarrassing incident, the Grammy-winning singer of Suavemente (Softly) and Maribel Vega, his wife of 10 days — 10 DAYS!!! — walked through throngs of shutterbugs at Thursday night’s shindig as if nothing happened. It’s unclear where the missus was at the time of the alleged self-pleasuring.

Crespo, 37, was questioned by Miami-Dade PD at Miami International Airport after a woman who sat near him on the plane complained Crespo exposed himself while enjoying some self-love. Crespo wasn’t charged and said: “I don’t remember doing that!”
