Palm Beach Gardens tennis prodigies Serena and Venus Williams soon will have a stepmom who’s their age.

Dad Richard Williams, 67, is engaged to a 30-year-old woman whom he presented to Page2Live lensman Fred Montana. Montana bumped into them at Sports Authority in West Palm.
“Here, get the first pictures of me and my new wife,” said Williams, who manages his daughters’ careers. He introduced the woman as Lakeisha Graham as the two filled the trunk of a Porsche SUV with purchases.
When I called Williams today, he said the two weren’t exactly married yet but were going to be.
“We’ll probably do it after the tournament in Key Biscayne (the Sony Ericsson Open, March 25-April 5),” Williams said.
But when asked if the sisters approved of his marrying a woman 37 years younger, Williams hung up.

Williams was divorced from Oracene, 56, the woman with whom he had Serena, 27, and Venus, 28, in 2002.
Three years earlier, Oracene turned up at West Palm Beach’s Columbia Hospital with three broken ribs that nursing staff suspected was the result of domestic violence. Police looked into it but no one was ever charged.
Graham, meanwhile, is listed as the owner of small grocery store near Fort Lauderdale. She’s been living with Williams for a while, since her car registration and her fishing and hunting licenses show Williams’ address, a $750,000 home in Palm Beach Gardens.

I say live and be happy. I went home one year to vist my father who at that time was older. My dad was taken me and my baby sister out to the casino when he informed us that he wanted to take his girlfriend who was 22 years old. I didn’t get mad because I wanted him to be happy. Love has no color, age, or size. I met my husband at the tender age of 18!!! That’s right. I was a sophomore in college, working a full-time job, and childless!! A childhood friend worked at his place of business. I use to go help her out in between my college classes and going to my gig. The owner and I eventually became friends and then lovers….. I was just shy of my 19th birthday and he was every bit of 49! Did my parents like it??? Heck to the nawh….. Hey they didn’t have a choice. I was grown, in college, working to provide for myself, and fully responsible. That man ended up becoming my husband 4 and a half years later. We stayed married until his death did us part. So yes, it can be true love and I believe it is. I had my ups and downs with the guys my age and dating is and can be a nightmare. Chivalry is non-existence in some cases and lack of respect for woman just to name a few. NO, this does NOT apply to all men. I’m only speaking from my own experience.

i’ve been in a simular situation. married and man 30 yrs my senior. it was for the money and i made that clear to him befor excepting his proposal. i stayed married to him for 9yrs. he worshiped me. i had love for him, but was not in love with him. so i eventually divorced him after realizing my happiness was more important that all the money in the world. but this could be different. if it is, i wish them all the best. if not, time will tell and the results will be the same. good luck and God’s blessings to them both.

Personally, I can’t imagine why a 30 year old person would want to marry someone 37 years their senior. We all can understand why he would want her, vice versa is the question. I happened to have met Mr. Williams when I lived in Riverwalk in WPB. I was shocked at how snarly he looked, how ashy he was. I suppose having a young “daughter” that you can feel up, and sleep with legally is a plus for him. Now he looks like someone, if not Ms. Graham is “greasing up” his legs and feet!
Mr Williams is a classic control freak, that’s why it was years before we even knew the girls had a MOM. When they grew up and in control–they could stand up for their Mom, and we began to see her in public–at matches. I always felt that while they were young he refused to allow her to attend the matches. Albeit, the blond hair was a bit much. After he marries this one, beats her, and then she divorces him–she’ll have a bankroll! If she’s smart, that is. Maybe they deserve each other.
Of course he hung up the phone when asked if the Williams sisters approved of his impending wedding plans. It makes me sick to think of his “cruddy, grey self” with a “bride”.

I always considered Richard Williams a genius. Here’s a man who read a book on tennis and taught his daughters to become world beaters. He protected them from the quick dollars by turning them down when they were young and let them live a normal life. He boldly predicted his daughters were going to be number 1 and 2 in the world, and they were. You can define womens tennis by two words; Williams Sisters.
