Probe in Anna Nicole death may be re-opened
In the wake of the recent arrests of Playboy model Anna Nicole Smith’s boyfriend and two doctors, authorities in Broward County are considering re-opening the investigation into her 2007 death.

Howard K. Stern's booking mug
Smith, 39, was found lifeless in her room at the Seminole Hard Rock Resort & Casino in Hollywood in February 2007. The Broward County Medical Examiner eventually listed the cause of death as an accidental overdose of prescription drugs, and the case was closed.
But the stunning arrests by the Los Angeles PD of lawyer Howard K. Stern and L.A. doctors Sandeep Kapoor and Khristine Eroshevich seems to have reshuffled the deck for local sleuths. The suspects were charged with conspiring to provide drugs to the star of reality TV’s The Anna Nicole Smith Show.
Now Ron Ishoy, spokesman for the Fort Lauderdale-based State Attorney Mike Satz, intimated that the investigation could be re-opened. No decision has been made yet.
“Our prosecutors have met with representatives of the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office and the California Department of Justice and discussed the evidence they have turned up in their investigation. We are now examining that evidence to see where it might lead in relation to Ms. Smith’s death here in Broward County in 2007,” he said in a prepared statement.
Stern was the most famous member of Smith’s entourage. He even claimed, falsely, to be the father of Smith’s newborn, Dannielynn. Stern was buying a boat in Miami Beach when Smith was rushed to Hollywood’s Memorial Regional Hospital but had been staying in her suite.

Glad that Broward County authorities are reconsidering what the rest of the free world has known since they wheeled that woman out of the Hard Rock……this whole thing stinks.
The real investigation should surround the death of Daniel…..based on what little media exists on him, he seemed like he was at least trying anyway to grow into a cautious, thoughtful young man instantly suspicious of the parasitic vermin latching onto Anna Nicole. He would have raised an alarm on anyone visiting foul play on his mom. He had to be dealt with first.
It’s too bad he died in a banana republic equipped with neither the skills or willpower to make a case over a dead American teenager whose investigation would sink the islands with tv cameras and all the negative economic backlash that might occur…(hello? Aruba? Natalie Holloway?)
God knows what he was up to indeed. Give us Danny’s truth first.
Being a retired critical care nurse and chronic pain person and haven seen scores of doctors over the years, my opinion of how her death was handeled to me was a joke. If a person is dependent on these medications like I am and I am sure like she was, Our fear was that we would run out of our meds., and go through withdrawl. I am pretty sure this was Annas fear. It was justified. When a person is going through medical detox in a hospital that is the safest place to be. From hearing testamony what Stern did at the hospital during her detox was very wrong. However I can understand his actions at the request of Anna and her fears. The courts will have to figure this all out now, but I do understand why there has been a arrest and a charge made against Stern. Also I do not think Stern relised Anna was deceving him and just how dangerous all of those medications can be taken at the same time. And about her son? That is a completely diffrent story Janet
Perper was an idiot ruling that death accidental overdose.
He needs to retire.
What does HKS look like with his clothes off? I heard Larry Birkhead was a size queen and the Indian doctor didn’t do it for him, but Howard did!
