Tico Torres' fundraiser: From Bon Jovi to Elvis

In a stinky economy, Bon Jovi drummer and Jupiter resident Tico Torres somehow lured more than 400 fans, friends and family members to his yearly fundraiser Sunday night at PGA National Resort in Palm Beach Gardens.

The theme of the Tico Torres Children Foundation’s gala: 1950s prom night!

Emceed by Rescue Me’s Jack Ryan (wearing the same suit as last year and, seeing how wrinkled it was, possibly wearing it without having taken it off since) and KOOL-105.5 FM morning DJ team Mo and Sally, the wingding and Monday’s golf tournament raised a yet-to-be-tallied amount of loot for autistic and cancer-afflicted kids.

Seen in the crowd: The Apprentice’s former voice-of-reason Caroline Kepcher, NFL Hall-of-Famer Eric Dickerson, Miami Dolphins running-back Ricky Williams, Bob Seger saxophonist Alto Reed, golfer Ernie Els, and others.

It is uplifting to know that so many celebrities and fans are continuing to support important charity events. Accolades to Tico for sponsoring this apparently most successful evening. Children are our hope for the world. God bless them all.
