No Limbaugh, but plenty of politics at “tea party”
There’ll be no Rush Limbaugh at next week’s “tea party” protest in downtown West Palm Beach, but organizers have drafted former Florida House Speaker Marco Rubio as the keynote speaker and rookie U.S. Congressman Tom Rooney as a guest.

Local Republican boss Sid Dinerstein says Cuban expat Rubio’s the man because “when it comes to talking about the American dream and opportunity, he’s the best in the country.”
“This is about creating trillions out of thin air and sticking our children, who don’t even have a vote, with the bill,” Dinerstein said.
Actress Jo Ann Pflug, who made a sexy appearance in MASH (the 1970 movie) before eventually turning born-again Christian and leaving showbiz, is also expected to attend.
While Limbaugh didn’t respond to organizers’ come-ons, the protest will allow Rubio to make a rare appearance north of his Miami territory. Rubio is considering a run for either the U.S. Senate or governor.
The April 15 “tea party,” at the county government center, mirrors similar tax protests throughout the country. As many as 100 are scheduled to take place that day, Tax Day.
The brainchild of tearfully paranoid radio talker and Fox News host Glenn Beck, the tea parties have been named after Boston’s early American protest. Organizers, often conservative Republicans, worry that President Barack Obama’s economic policies will translate into higher taxes in the not-so-distant future.
More than 4,000 people attended a recent “tea party” in Orlando, but Dinerstein says he hopes for 1,000.

I’ve heard that some mothers are bringing their children down in jail uniform costumes to protest how their sons and daughters will be debtor’s prison thanks to Obama’s big bailouts. That should be the front page picture — the choices of today are their consequences tomorrow!
Sid’s an IDIOT but it sounds like a great event.
I would like to remind everybody that the BAILOUTPALOOSA started with the Bush Admin. with grand poohbah George W at the helm, so it is unfair to only point the finger at the current Admin and Obamma soley. So go ahead and Party or complane or what ever your gonna do down there at the goverment center but remenber this the spoils of war are just that and we reap what we sow so now its time to pay the piper and Republicans dont like the music well get used to it you got 3 3/4 more years to go for this first act to be finished, see you in the smoking section I’ll be the guy with the big fat stoagie laughing my azz off
All the jerk Republicans conveniently forget that it was 8 years of George W. Bush that got us INTO this to start with!
Now, no matter WHAT President Obama does, they criticize and whine, which in the end is what fascist Republicans are good for anyway.
Republicans don’t care about the citizens, only about their trust funds and golden parachutes, and oil and car corporations! (oh , and not hurting the tobacco companies feelings!!!!)
SID is a Douchewad… Stealing the spotlight again! he will be at the tea party as long as the TV crews are there and then leave!
The liberal numbskulls who posted in #3 & #4 apparently don’t even know what the Tea Parties are even about. Let me educate you socialist liberals. The Tea Parties are protesting the budget that the Obama administration is pushing on us. It is more debt in 22 months then all of our past Presidents racked up combined for the last 233 years. Our kids and grandkids are going to be stuck with this bill. All this money is doing is expanding Goverment and turning this country into a nanny state. It destroys capitalism and destroys many individuals ambition to make a better life for themselves by making them lazy and dependent on the Government. Wake up Liberals, your ruining this great country, or trying, but were going to stop you. See you at the Tea Party
Funny - noone here is stating it was no fault of the Bush administration, yet the liberal posters go there. No defense of Obama.
Here’s the problem - we’re throwing money at the US Automakers - and chastizing them - but leaving the unfair and overpaid UAW alone (mmmmmm delicious votes).
Also, the spokesperson of the screwed up housing industry, Barney Frank, HAD A HAND IN SCREWING IT UP TO BEGIN WITH!!!!!
For the record, by the way, I am not a republican. I had high hopes for many of the things obama promised and he has truly dropped the ball at this point.
“We will put an end to lobbyists control over Washington, DC” - Barrack Obama - Yeah, I fell for that.
“You cannot help the poor by destroying the rich. You cannot strengthen the weak by weakening the strong. You cannot bring about prosperity by discouraging thrift. You cannot lift the wage earner up by pulling the wage payer down. You cannot further the brotherhood of man by inciting class hatred. You cannot build character and courage by taking away people’s initiative and independence. You cannot help people permanently by doing for them, what they could and should do for themselves.”
Abraham Lincoln
Its amazing people still think its Bushes fault for this meltdown.
Lets not forget the facts here:
The Clinton Adminstration and the Dems wanted to give everyone to have a home or two even if they couldn’t afford it.
Barry Frank was sleeping with the guy running Fannie Mae.
Chris Dodd is taking kick backs from countywide.
The dems controled the house and senate for the last two years of the Bush Administration
The Bush administration as well as Mcain tried to increase regulation in 2006. Look at the videos!
Those are the facts, Clowns!
It’s pointless to argue and fingerpoint. It’s just unfair that we the people have to bear the brunt of what would otherwise be considered a crime. No one is willing to bail we the people out. The squeaky wheel gets the oil, so squeak everyday if you have to.
Good comments 6,7,8,and 9. I guess 100 days of the Obama administration hasn’t made an impression. He’s the 2nd term of Jimmy Carter. Growing bigger Government, more taxes and oppression.
The Tea Parties are for everyone, (non-partisan) who has had enough of Government “spending our Money.”
Let your voices be heard.
The Tea Parties were not the brainchild of Glenn Beck, but of trader and CNBC commentator Rich Santelli. You need to check again. It’s not just conservatives that have had enough of government spending and of our elected reps ignoring us.
Troy - repeat some more talking points from the republican party as if I havent heard that already, and where are the facts that you base upon that I will become lazy and dependant upon the goverment you dont know me and Mike what did Bush do the Eight years that he was in office besides Iraq and what a mess he left there, the only people who benifited there was Haliburton , Becktell, Blackwater and as far as having control without having a veto proof majority forgetabout it
My Opinion, It’s not just the Republicans/Democrats fault. We the People also allowed it to happen. It is time for “we the people” to take back our power. The goverment is for the people, by the people. We don’t work for them, they work for us. I have experienced corruption even in the Palm Beach Judicial System. I look forward to seeing everyone at the West Palm Tea Party. No Blame…Time to Act!
It is still my right to complain, whine or anything that you democrats call it when you are on the other side of the matter. It is amazing how these Democratic posters want to make everything a Bush/Obama competition still. I think that Bush made many mistakes and Obama will continue to make mistakes as well. I will join the tea party because I want to continue to make a living in my country without giving it all to illegal aliens, foreign countries as aid and generally just throwing it away. I am seeing way too much pressure from the Democrats regarding this freedom of speech that we all have rights to. Just because you don’t want to hear what someone is saying does not mean that they don’t have a right to say it. Try not to be so Hypocritical of my FREE speech Democrats.
For all you “Bush haters” who correctly point out that excessive spending took place under the Bush administration - everybody going to the TEA Party agrees with you! But you might want to take your heads out of the “support Obama no matter what he does” drug haze long enough to think about the fact that even if Bush was wrong. he can’t do anything about it now! Thatresponsibility now belongs to your boy, “OB”! So you can either walk around in your drugged state until you realize what these non-sensical government plans are going to do to you and your kids - and you! And if you are smart enough to figure it out - come and join us!
We had 6 good years under the bush administration .
