Wanna fight Jose Canseco? Bring $50, get in line

Former baseball superstar slugger Jose Canseco will fall hard.

Canseco, who’s now as well known for the book that blew the lid off baseball’s dirty little steroid secrets as for his towering homers, is scheduled to get in the boxing ring for a three-round bout June 27 in Fort Lauderdale.
In a tabloid twist, some of the proceeds of the evening of boxing will go to the John Graziano Foundation, a foundation for a Tampa man seriously injured in a 2007 accident with wrestler Hulk Hogan’s son.
No venue’s been picked yet, but chances are Canseco’ll fight someone off the street.
Well, this being Florida, it’s someone off the mall!
Promoters will be accepting $50 applications to fight Canseco at the Dadeland Mall near Miami noon at 4 p.m. Saturday.
Hear that, Mark McGwire? No need to remind you that Canseco wrote he injected you personally with ‘roids!
“We’ll pick the person who we think won’t get hurt,” promoter Damon Feldman said. “Canseco’s a big guy.”
Feldman runs Celebrity Boxing, which pairs up disliked celebs or has-beens in boxing fights. Canseco just fought Danny Bonaduce, the wise-cracking son in the 1970s TV series The Partridge Family, to a draw in Pennsylvania.
“Jose took it easy on Danny, trust me,” Seldman said.
The John Graziano Foundation, meanwhile, was set up to collect money to build Graziano, once the best friend of Hogan’s son, reality TV’s Nick Bollea, a home adapted to his numerous and permanent brain injuries. Bollea served 166 days in prison for his role in the street racing accident.
this guy is such a tool….i wish he would just go away.
He should just get a real job. Where he makes a real wage, and lives a real life. Here was a man that made millions and millions of dollars, and lost it all. I have too, but I made my money as a businessman, and easily made it back. He needs to come to the realization the gig is up, and try to find a real life situation. He can still fight on the side if he wants to, but I doubt he will.
