I'm a 60 something grandmother living in Deerfield Beach, Florida, who fell head over heels for David 3 shows before the AI Finale, as my best friend in New York State "bugged" me daily to pay attention to this amazing person on AI, as until then I was not a viewer of AI, nor have I been since. In my book nothing and no one will ever compare to this phenomenon that we have the pleasure of knowing as our very own David R. Cook!! After he won, I flew to Albany, NY and went with my best friend of 52 years, who adores him as well, to see him in the AI Tour where he hugged me, and gave me his autograph!! (Infact our photo is somewhere on David's Official Website)!! In other words, I have been following his career almost from the very beginning, and if possible, my love and total respect has only grown by leaps and bounds, since those days!! So many lovely things have been said about David, for which I thank his other fans, because I don't know a single other young man, (especially one who is quickly becoming a star, who will only get much much bigger), with such incredible compassion for humanity, so much integrity, educated, a beautiful sensitivity which he is not too proud to display publicly, such love openly expressed to his family, friends and fans, all of which and countless other accolades, he more than deserves, which makes him a PERFECT package of a HUGELY TALENTED MAN and far from only being a rock star!!

With the recent loss of his beloved brother Adam, my heart breaks for him, as I know precisely what he feels as I lost my only child, but with him doing a run for a cause which he so powefully believes in, only a few short hours after Adam passed, and within a day after Adam's funeral, David was back on stage fulfilling his obligations to his public, it is most certainly to be understood that he was and is openly emotional, yet so in charachter for David!! He continues to be so very kind and gracious to people from all walks of life!! In this article and photos with David and the Princess, it only shows his unending kindness to a fan who asked to meet him!! I seriously doubt, however, that he had much to do with that decison, since I feel sure that it was the Sunfest Festival organizers who made the decision for him - not that he would ever refuse anyone in any case!! This is the GENTLE MAN that David is, which speaks volumes. I agree with one of the comments that it would have been very special if the Princess would have donated to the Brain Cancer Charity, but as is so usual for David, he would not mention such a thing!!

The courage and strength that David has shown in light of this heavily emotional week, David is to be commended, and we, who call ourselves his fans, owe him ALL OF OUR SUPPORT, no matter what or how he handles this most personal tragedy, of a man who simply adored his brother, stayed extremely close to him thru his battles, and respected him so much, that he wants to model his own life after Adam's!! What greater honor is there to Adam's wife and children - not to mention David's own family, who he loves so dearly!! I can only wish David and his entire family my deepest condolences, and that with the gift of time, may they ALL find the peace which surpasses all understanding!! As for me personally, my hope and dream for David is when the time, circumstances and love that he has to share with a young lady, that he finds one who will share his life with him totally and completely, and honor him as much as he is sure to honor that special someone!! NOTHING would thrill my soul more!!

I thank you for this story, and for all the comments that people have added, which demonstrates the love so many of us, of every age group have for our David. IN MY EYES, THERE WILL NEVER BE ANOTHER LIKE OUR DAVID COOK, AND AS LONG AS I HAVE LIFE, HE HAS MY UNDYING LOVE AND SUPPORT, FOR THE PERSON THAT HE IS, AND A TREMENDOUS AMOUNT OF GRATITUDE TO HIS FAMILY WHO HAVE RAISED DAVID TO BE PRECISELY THE MAN THAT HE IS TODAY!! I couldn't be more proud of David's achievements, and to be counted among his GREATEST FANS!!! Thank you very kindly for allowing me to share my heart, as this is only the 2nd time I have posted. In addition, if you have an opportunity, please go to see him in concert, and meet him if you possibly can, because before very long, he will be untouchable due to his fame and celebrity, which by the way, would NEVER be of his choosing!!

Much love and gratitude to all of you,

David is a very humble and sincere guy, he would have done what the TPTB wanted him to do for Sunfest. He does not realize how many people feel about him. He was so brave on Sunday at the Race for Hope, he was very emotional but did not say anything about his brother passing until after the race. He showed that he is a very compassionate and sensitive man.

David Cook put on an awesome show. He rocked that stage. People flew in from all over the country to see him perform live. His voice is gorgeous. It was so sad that he lost his beloved brother hours after performing. David being the gracious person that he is, probably never mentioned to the Princess about his fund raising efforts for brain cancer. Since, it was David that she wanted to meet, it would be wonderful if Sunfest gave some share of that check to David's cause. I would have loved to have seen the expression on Mr. Cook's face when he was told that the Princess wanted to meet him!

Would've been even better if she'd also donated to the brain cancer charities that Dave Cook supports. Was so sorry to hear his bother passed soon after his performance here Saturday.

Dave, you put on a great show. Our condolences on the loss of your brother.
