The murder trial at Old Bailey in London of Thanos Papalexis, a silver-tongued Palm Beach entrepreneur who hosted former Prez Bill Clinton and tried to start several fractional-ownership luxury clubs here, is under way.

Papalexis, 36, is on trial for the murder of an eccentric Londoner who refused to leave his dingy apartment in a warehouse building that Papalexis bought and wanted to renovate. With the interest on the mortgage he took out mounting, Papalexis and two alleged accomplices are believed to have tortured the man then killed him, in a crime scene that had grossed out even hard-boiled investigators.
“His strategy will be to attack the character of his co-defendants,” a Scotland Yard source told Page2Live.
So British prosecutors have reached out to several Palm Beach area residents to paint their profile of Papalexis. They also believe that Papalexis confessed to friends here. The names of witnesses scheduled to fly to London for their court appearance wasn’t available.
The trial started with jury selection on June 4. Papalexis has denied any involvement and pleaded not guilty. Opening arguments were this morning.
“It appears that the victim was condemned to die for no better reason than he was not prepared to leave his home,” said prosecutor Jonathan Laidlaw in his opening statement, according to London’s Times. “It is likely that when told he had to move out, he would have refused to do so.”
Well known for flying in private jets and driving fancy cars and throwing sex parties, Papalexis wormed his way into Palm Beach society in record time by claiming to be the son of a Greek shipping tycoon. After a controversial failure to buy a West Palm Beach high rise destroyed in a hurricane, Papalexis’ attempts to start luxury clubs ended in costly failures for investors.
He was picked up by U.S. Marshals in November on a British warrant while having lunch at Fire Rock pizza in downtown West Palm Beach, and extradited.
He should be locked up for the chair he is sitting on in the picture above… why is it that the people that exploit others to get rich are always the ones with the worst taste?

I think young Thanos is just misunderstood. He is a fine man and I believe that this man is innocent in every way. The Thanos I know is a man who is pure, good, upright, and a just plain nice guy. Sure he has horrific taste in furniture, and yes, he loves to dress up as a mid 17th century pirate whilst singing show tunes, and he has a large tattoo of a dolphin on his butt; but a nice guy none the less . I once saw him help an old lady across the street without asking for pay.
Who could not love this guy?

papalexis was my cell mate in wandsworth and i was he;s cell mate for afew weeks in wandsworth’and he never seemed that kind of man he was a nice friendly fellow.we trainned every morning and night doing cell workouts he was never stressed or worried unlike other cell mates who were guilty.but going not guilty. being in prison a couple of times now u learn to know a few things about your cell mates and they would always get stressed and worry what would be the out come were he would just get on with it and was like he knew he didnt do it.yes he told me about hes parties but good luck to him party on it done meen hes a killer.it just meens he loved a woman or two.he basicly told me what he thoght had happend but he couldn;t get he;s head around what had happend to him.alright he wanted good things and money he might have told afew porkies to get it but thats what dealing men do.thats the name of the game.if you want more info drop us an emaileven news papers i;ve got alot i can tell he was me cell mate and he told me alot. email adress is traceyleannetemple@live.co.uk my wife;s email address.
