More than 500 local lawyers, including 45 judges and two Florida supremes, gathered at The Breakers Saturday night for the installation of new Palm Beach County Bar Association President Michelle Suskauer.

Suskauer, a criminal lawyer, is often used as a legal consultant on cable news networks. She replaces outgoing president Richard Schuler as the face of the Palm Beach legal community. The Bar Association has 3,000 members, more than half the total number of attorneys in the county.

Seen at the dinner dance: Palm Beach County Clerk and Comptroller Sharon Bock; County Attorney Denise Nieman, Florida Attorney General hopeful Dave Aronberg; Florida Bar President Jay White; Statewide prosecutor Bill Shepherd; rookie judge and former corruption prosecutor John Kastrenakes.

Should Deenise Neman be required to disclose any wedding shower gifts she accepted from county lobbyists? Didn’t Llwyd Ecclestone host the party?

Llywd Ecclestone does not sponsor the party. Jackass.

    Wow.

Judge “Breasticles” is back on the bench?

    Judge Cooolin?

    Supreme Court Justice?

And all these lawyers partying and drinking together?

And people wonder about judicial corruption?

How can Attys and Judges drink, party and dance together at night and expect us not to think cases are fixed in the day?

Maybe its true, maybe its not.

It does look very Palm Beach County….which is not too good for anyone who is not paying to play.

    Dear Appellate Practice Chair:

    Thank you for your request.

If you would like an ID Tag listed with your “Pro Bono” image in this publication, you will need to file an appeal with the 4th District.

I will personally guide your appeal.

My retainer is $10,000 USD and my hourly rate is $375 per hour in 1/4 hour increments.

This process could take several years and there is no guarantee of success or any result whatsoever, depending on the whim of the court.

The process could bankrupt your business, yourself and cause dramatic personal bitterness and mayhem in your life.

But if we lose, don’t worry, we can just start the process again and appeal to the next level.

But don’t worry, I have taken and Ethics Pledge, so you can be sure I will have no inherent conflict in the additional compensation I rake in should I act in a manner to delay this process, exponentially increase the cost and greatly magnify my personal process.

Please send your check promptly and we will get started with your appeal.

    xxxxx and ooooo’s,

    J……

(The above is pure parody. None of the above could ever happen and we all know that no one on earth is worth $375 an hour for circuitous paperwork.)

This was a wonderful evening that celebrated the installation of a really lovely woman Michelle Suskauer.

Looks like a great affair… all too often lawyers, attorneys are punch lines… this affair shows the legal industry can party with class.

Show me a party with politicians… and I’ll show you a party full of people with their hands out…
