Like the Republic, a new political power couple made it official on the Fourth of July.
Beaming in her gold beaded dress, multi-millionaire Boca Raton landowner Yvonne Boice said a shy “I do” to former West Palm Beach commissioner and mayoral candidate Al Zucaro in a sunset ceremony at the Boca Resort.
“As always, the bride is stunning and the groom is stunned,” joked Palm Beach County Commissioner Steve Abrams. He pronounced the Republican couple husband-and-wife before 200-plus gathered in the resort’s breathtaking Cathedral Room.
A bi-partisan plethora of elected officials, county government bureaucrats and power-brokers had taken place in the pews to witness the wedding. Among them: GOP boss Sid Dinerstein; businessman George Elmore; GOP state committeeman Peter Feaman; West Palm Commish Ike Robinson; Palm Beach County strategic planning director Kevin Johns; Port of Palm Beach boss Ed Oppel; and Palm Beach Film Festival Director Randi Emmerman.

The wedding was also one of the first society appearances since his release from prison of Boca moneybags Jim Batmasian. Batmasian was in federal custody until May 27, after serving eight months for tax evasion. He opted not to talk to Page2Live, but looking at the way he clung to his wife Marta as they danced, there’s little doubt he’s happy to come home.
The bride was given away by Palm Beach County Commish Burt Aaronson, with whom she walked on a red carpet covered in passion-red rose pedal.
“Today I’m saying ‘I do’, and tomorrow and forever, it’s going to be ‘yes, dear!’ Zucaro said before the ceremony.

Zucaro, who at 60 is 10 years younger than Boice, is also the founder of the local World Trade Center. He says he’s retired from politics, there’s little doubt that his marriage to a major GOP donor like Boice could bring him back.
Zucaro told Page2Live he hasn’t decided where he’ll live (he owns property in Jupiter). It is expected he’ll move in with Boice in Boca’s Golden Harbor.
In the nearer future, the lovebirds are preparing for a honeymoon in Europe. They’ll cruise the Mediterranean from Venice, Italy, to Barcelona, Spain.
“Life is too short,” said guest Christine Lynn, the insurance mogul who gave Boca’s Lynn University its name. She was asked to comment on the unlikely union of the immigration lawyer, Zucaro, with the Boca socialite. “When you find someone you want to be with, go for it!”
Missing from the wingding: West Palm lobbyist Anita Mitchell and her daughter, West Palm Commissioner Kimberly Mitchell. The two have been political allies of Zucaro’s but declined their invitation. Officially, they cited prior family commitment. The truth: Mom Anita won’t be in the same room with another guest, lobbyist Richard Pinsky. He happens to be Kimberly’s ex-husband.

So according to this, it seems to me that what Zucaro wants is to be back in the limelight, and that by marrying Boice this is his chance to come back in a big way. It sounds to me that this is an opportunistic wedding for him
Zucaro is going nowhere with his World Trade Center so he married a bank accoun to finance his endeavors. He screwed his original WTC partners and others. Good thing about this marriage is that it might get the taxpayers off the hook. Except, however, he might seek an elected position and with her money he might win. He’ll then use that position to extort money - just as he did when he was a City Commissioner.
I was with the City during Zucaro’s tenure. He is a complete sleazebag. I hated having to meet with the man.
He has no redeeming qualities. I feel sorry for Boice.

Obviously we know who the ‘bread-winner” is in this family. He failed at beating Lois Frankel for mayor, so his must be in serious financial trouble after all the money he spent on his campaign. This was all before Yvonne came into the picture mind you! Plus, being 10 years younger obviously help him win over Yvonne I’m sure…because she didn’t marry him for his money! HA HA!!!

I spend about half my time in Palm Beach County and have a connection with local poltiics down there so am familiar with many of the players. I’m very appreciatve of the scandal entertainment the county provides me.
The union of Zucaro and Boice could bear some interesting fruit in the months and (I’ll give them about a) year ahead. Carl Hiassen could have fun with this. Involves politics, power and money (but no sex unless they’re both chemically kick-started and put bags over each other’s heads).
Sleazebag politician and failing businessman Zucaro who has operated on the edge is desperate and running out of money sources so he marries widow who has tons of money and political influence but is desperate to have companionship.
The marriage allows him to hurdle the barrier into the levels of power he’s craved for so long. Now he’ll be able to join the cruises hosted by Boice that feature the likes of baffoonish commissioner Aaronson.
Aaronson will now be able to honestly claim the trips have a business purpose because Zucaro will be pestering him with financial opportunities for the county. By the way you can be sure there was a business purpose in the head of economic development being at the wedding. Zucaro is very calculating.
Anyway, that’s a start. This blog is a little old already, but if there are any more visits it would be amusing to have you post “the end of the story”.
I worked for WPB when this jerk was a commissioner, and EVERYBODY despised him! He is a user and he follows the money, obviously.

Also had some dealings with him through catering events for his WTC. He is all and then some as the above comments state and HE SMELLS!!!
Poor Yvonne. She doesn’t know what she’s getting herself into. They won’t last. Once he starts embezzling into her funds, she see that he was only after her money. Oh and yes, regardless of them being married, it’s still embezzling when none of the money is his and he uses it for his own personal gain! Their separate accounts will remain separate if she’s smart…and includes having a pre-nup. She’s obviously a smart woman, but will she let this piece of work try to pull a fast one on her????
Zucaro is such a character. Good thing he didn’t become Mayor when he tried. He makes promises that he doesn’t keep. He talks a big talk, but doesn’t back any of it up. I don’t understand why a woman who’s done so much for Palm Beach County would want to be involved with someone like this! This is more of a reflection on her than on him. From all the comments above, it’s obvious what everyone thinks of him. Do you see anyone saying anything good about him? I’m just adding my own two cents to it all. I voted above that the marriage will not last, but I’m hoping for Yvonne’s sake that it will be a short one. At least let the woman enjoy the rest of her life with dignity! She is older than him and she’s not stupid. I think she also has something to gain by all of this. I just hope she doesn’t waste too much time with this meatball. He’s got no class and he’s obviously washed up! Good luck to you Yvonne…you’ll need it!!!!
Alfred is in politics…. for every person that likes him two people wont… GET OVER IT. They’re married and for the time being everyone has to live with it.
