This is absolutely ridiculous…the guy was swimming in debt, which he left behind because of his extravagant spending, so they decided to waste 25k for a casket?!? Then his death is sticking the state of californina’s tax payers with his memorial services debt quite stupid to say the least for a known pedophile…Take him off the high horse people there are way more important issues to cover that actually effect our lives moving forward his death sure isn’t one of them!

Last I heard years ago he paid hundreds of thousands of dollars to have his body frozen. I believe he even admitted to this on 20/20 with Dianne Sawyer as well.
25k is not a lot of money these days. Michael deserves to have the best final resting place after all look at all the memories he gave to the world through his music and brilliance. Rest in peace Michael you will be missed.
25K is a drop in the bucket for someone like MJ. He worked like a dog his entire life and made more money by the time he was 10 years old than most people make their entire lives. He made that money by entertaining people and giving them what they wanted. Not by making killing machines or screwing people in the stock market. MJ made many people around him very rich wost of who never wrote nor sang a single note. He contributed to a great number of charities throught his short life span and was a better person than most. He was never convicted of any wrong doing in the charges he faced several years ago and too many people forget that. His biggest problem was that he trusted too many of the wrong people who saw him as nothing more than an easy mark for them to make. Even in death I’m afraid that it’s still not over for him. The vultures are out there again to try and milk him at least one more time. Very sad end to a tragic life.

So what if he’s casket cost $25,000. This man is in the guinness book of world records for the entertainer who has contributed to the most charities. He deserves whatever casket he gets. People need to stop critizing and let Michael rest in peace. He’s done so much in his lifetime. He could not please everyone. You can be the greatest person in the world, but there’s always going to be someone who will have something negative to say. Some people are just ignorant and don’t know what to say. This is not a lot of money for a casket. In case you’ve not had to bury a loved one then you may not be aware it’s not cheap. And sometimes families emotions take over wishing the best for the lost loved one. But this is fairly reasonable in a far as prices go on caskets that are other than a simple plan box. Besides it is fitting he was buried in that one, in my opinion.
Bury me in a simple pine box. Ashes to Ashes, Dust to Dust. I personally would rather return to Mother Earth, than try to be preserved for the ages. He needs to live on in his music, not in body.

I loved Michael and believed that he was a brilliant entertainer, but a troubled soul. It doesn’t bother me that his family will lay him to rest in this casket. What does bother me is the fact that the City of LA is asking for memorial donations from the public. LA and the State of CA are in a severe economic crisis.
