“Not too drunk” Burn Notice’s Jeffrey Donovan popped for DUI

The star of the popular filmed-in-SoFla spy series Burn Notice has a date with a Miami-Dade judge later this month after he was popped for DUI in Miami Beach.
The dark and brooding Jeffrey Donovan nearly hit a police cruiser stopped at a red light July 12. According to the police report, Donovan told the MBPD officer, who heard the tires of Donovan’s Audi screech to a halt: “I really think I’m only borderline and not too drunk!”
The USA network star, 41, failed field sobriety tests and was arrested after the cop smelled alcohol on his breath.
After telling the officer he had three drinks at the nearby Fontainebleau Resort, Donovan added: “The only mistake I made tonight was drinking Benadryl with three glasses of wine.”
Obviously, Donovan never played a lawyer. Otherwise, he’d know to shut up!
DUI is a crime that most people believe they will not be charged with. It is a crime that only happens to other people. However, it is not illegal to drink and drive. It is only illegal to drive with a BAC over a .08. Nobody knows when one drink is one too many to drive.

I love the show, and the character Donovan portrays. I hate having to lose respect (it’s not like I have a choice in the matter) when an actor whose work I like does a damned fool thing like this.
Straighten up your act, Mr. Donovan. Please.

It always amazes me when celebrities get pulled over for DUI or for possession of anything. They are in the public eye and make good money. They should pay someone to drive them.
How does the news feeds know he was arrested for DUI. First if he was smart enough he would have his lawyer on speed dial and the first advise would be do not comply. So he gets arrested for simply refusing a test, no blood, no breathalizer, no evidence… NO JAIL and you get slammed with a law suit for slandering.
We all make mistakes and hopefully he will wont do it again. It just makes me sad cause my daughter really likes his show. Jeffery is you need a ride call a taxi next time.
