Without naming former U.S. Rep. Mark Foley, talk radio superstar Rush Limbaugh tells Page2Live Foley has an uphill battle if he wants to become a broadcast powerhouse.

And Foley’s sudden departure from his old job as a U.S. Congressman has nothing to do with it.

“The reasons so many people want to do a radio talk show are simple,” the conservative lightning-rod Limbaugh writes in an e-mail. “It has tremendous impact and influence. People also think a pot of gold is attainable.
“And they think it is easy because the greats make it appear easy.”
But, Limbaugh added, few are shown the money. And that’s already the case for Foley, who taped this week the premiere of Inside The Mind of Mark Foley for airing Sept. 22 on West Palm Beach’s WSVU-Seaview 960 AM. He’ll be working for free, at least at the beginning.
“We’re not paying him right now,” said station General Manager Chet Tart. “But Mark said he’d bring his own advertisers.”
He’d better.
“Sadly, few understand the BUSINESS of talk radio,” Limbaugh e-mailed me. “Content, which is obviously important, is only a piece of the puzzle. But without a foundation of understanding the business of radio, success can be elusive.”
Foley resigned his congressional seat in 2006 when his sex-soaked text-messages to young pages were made public.

Truthfully, I don’t see Mark Foley becoming a powerhouse, because I really don’t think he wants to be a powerhouse. I think he is so used to being a public servant, that all he wants is to just have his voice heard again. I’m all for it. But if I was outside of the So. Florida area, I doubt I would have much interest in another syndicated talk show host. I wish Mark the best.
So this is what passes for “breaking news” in the Post these days. A tabloid “journalist” writing an unverified story about a disgraced and allegedly drug rehabilitated right wing hate monger commenting on a disgraced child predator former senator and his future as a talk show host on a station no one can hear. We lost Emily Minor and a host of other literate journalists for this dreck.
Why is Fooley on here so much?
He’s a proven perv.
Most of them do not change their stripes.
But he may just fit in perfectly with the class of politicians these days.
Politicians get elected by the people today by lies and once in power work against the people that elected them.
We need to stop trusting them and overhaul the whole system….no good person will even become a candidate today….who wants to be one of them?

What a nasty picture of Rush smoking that big cigar. Some day the old windbag will choke on his own smoke. I don’t know anyone that admits to listening to his radio show. I doubt if anyone would listen to Mr. Foley on the radio. We are in a new era of politics and we need to put these two out to pasture. They are no longer relevant in politics and have nothing meaningful to say. It is time to retire Rush and Mark.

Right on Big Jon. Ashley obviously doesn’t get out much since Rush is huge on the radio. Politics is changing, but the change isn’t necessarily good. If you hate Rush, great. That is what pays the bills baby! Keep it up.
You are correct, Jim. Rush is HUGE, figuratively and literally. He is also a master at spinning half-truths, incomplete/out-of-context information and propaganda inventions into big bucks.
It hasn’t even been proven that he really believes what he spouts all the time, unlike other American taliban types like anne coulter. At least he has the cojones to not hide his real address unlike that anorexic she-male.
I think foley will fit right in with rush, seeing as how they both seem to have an endless supply of hypocracy and invention.
Mark Foley tried to get a teen age boy to engage in some kind of slippery sex act in the janitors closet at the capitol. Now he wants a talk show where he will be able to reach out into our community and lure thousands of young boys into a life of leather masks and homosexual perversion? Disgusting sodomite!

May I also suggest that to change things we need to have more diversity in our schools and colleges. A major problem that we have is that our schools and colleges are full of these liberal teachers/professor’s who are teaching our children their way of thinking. We need to even it out and have more teachers/professor’s who are also conservative. This is the American way, where both sides are shown. My son went to college in Tallahassee and could not believe how one sided all the professor’s were. Just my opinion…..
