Lambiet’s Lunch: Even the heat won’t make Coulter melt; Foley’s media onslaught

Don't mess with Coulter!

Don't mess with Coulter!

– If you happen to see GOP attack dog Ann Coulter about town, be advised: Talking to her annoys her! A Page2Live source ran into the populist Palm Beach writer at CityPlace in West Palm Beach recently as she stood idly at the foot of an escalator. My boy, a decent-looking guy who could grab any female’s attention, asked her: “Hey, what are you doing here in this heat?” Neither he nor the 95-degree heat could melt the ice queen, who just stared at the guy without unlocking her tightly-shut jaws. Hey, he could just as well have asked her: “Psst, you’re dating?” . . .

– Mostly ignored by the national media since he resigned from Congress in shame, former U.S. Rep. Mark Foley is about to be everywhere again. He’s preparing for three national interviews that’ll be taped back-to-back Tuesday at the North Palm Beach radio studios of WSVU-Seaview 960 AM. That’s the station that’ll start broadcasting Foley’s new show Sept. 22. I’m told by station insiders that Foley starts at noon with the taping of an interview with Greta Van Susteren for Fox News’ On the Record. Later, the 55-year-old Foley tapes another segment for airing on NBC’s Today then goes live on MSNBC.

I have met Ann before in downtown west palm-she was very friendly with a good sense of humor

Hey-is Randi Rhodes still tripping over her dog and blaming it on right win zealots???

  2. Comment by Rick — September 14, 2009 @ 2:10 pm

Ann WHO??? The term “ice queen” is far-too complimentary a term for this nearly fifty-something past-prime attorney! Let’s hope that the new health care plan she supports will cover treatment for the apparantly frigid communications skills that she seems to suffer from here in the Palm Beaches!

A two bit pickup line like that would irritate any woman.

Why would she attempt to engage in any conversation in the Palm Beaches since the majority are New York liberals.

The conversation would be less than stimulating.
I’d rather talk to my dog.

Why would you say ‘populist’ palm beach writer?
Ann Coulter is anything but a populist writer, more like psychotic hack scribbler. Besides, lines like that wouldn’t work with any sane anorexic she-male either.

  5. Comment by Oldtimer — September 14, 2009 @ 2:55 pm

She probably thought he was one of those CityPlace panhandlers.

  6. Comment by She-Male Ann Coulter — September 14, 2009 @ 3:01 pm

Who cares? Some day she will come clean about the sex-change attempted surgery she had in the Dom Republic. Ann Coulter is a man. An unattractive one at that. He has no basic decency, good-manners, or sense of humor. The only time he laughs is when it is at someone else’s expense. He is lucky, some drunk, blind air-head tried to be polite to her, even if it was a pickup line. We will probably be reading about the poor guy hanging himself in disgrace. He is a joke and that is why he is only ever seen on FOX.

He is another one that does nothing to help or improve society, just complain about it and condemn those that do try to make any kind of positive impact. He is a pompous, arrogant ars-hole and I can’t wait for his emaciated, anorexic bag of bones to come screaming, flying out of the closet.

A guy who is ‘descent looking’ with a line like that could not get a smile out of any woman.

  8. Comment by Dick — September 14, 2009 @ 3:18 pm

Ann Coulter is great. The Demos can’t stand it nor Rush nor Beck, etc., etc.
When they don’t know what to say they mean spirited and try to character assassin anyone who disagrees their yellow dog mentality.
Go drink a cup of “caufee” Easterner and polish up

I’m amazed at the hostility of some of the commentors on Ann. The truth is, she’s very outspoken about right and wrong and some people just hate that… especially if they love wrong. These same people hate Jesus who once said, “and men loved darkness rather than the light…” Why? Jesus continued, “…because their deeds were evil.”

  10. Comment by Just the Facts, Please — September 14, 2009 @ 3:41 pm

Ok everybody, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE talk to Ann Coulter every time you see her. Now that we know what annoys her we can get even for all the times she’s annoyed us with that crap she spews.

Mark Foley loves to put his mouth near microphones or anything that resembles them

Let alone her politics, who in the world thinks she is good looking?

I personally know Ann. Yes, she has her conservative beliefs, but her TV persona is totally different from her personal life. One of her best friends is Bill Mayer, the HBO liberal comedian. Her TV “act” is just that, an act. She’s laughing all the way to the bank.

Someone should give that she-dude a gender test. I bet Ann has a twig and berries! Woof!

  16. Comment by Christine — September 14, 2009 @ 4:35 pm

I want to meet her!! Being a liberal Democrat I would make her skin crawl, which would bring me joy, joy, joy.
Maybe I’ll talk to her about local politics AND ask her where she got her shoes. Just us girls discussing fashion. Or maybe not. No, alas, she’s such a bitch she won’t want to be my friend.
But if I see her I’m sure gonna try!!!!

  17. Comment by Truth — September 14, 2009 @ 4:44 pm

Oh grow up, talk about petty whining.

  18. Comment by kevin — September 14, 2009 @ 5:00 pm

I have seen her around town in her red Volvo sedan. Looking straight ahead being very careful not to make eye contact with anyone. That’s an impressive adams apple she’s got there. It must be protruding 2 inches or more. She’s a cold cold bitch.

  19. Comment by Snark Poo — September 14, 2009 @ 5:00 pm

Why give his repulsive he/see/it another single line of space in any branch of the media. She is a humorless, joyless skank who gets her jollies by pi$$ing off anyone who hears her monotone spewing her vitriol. Let her go slink back into the ooze that spawned her. The sight of her makes me want to hurl.

  20. Comment by Dick — September 14, 2009 @ 5:10 pm

    Meow, meow, meow.

  21. Comment by Big Daddy — September 14, 2009 @ 5:13 pm

Oh people, leave Ann Coulter alone. I mean really, ignore her and she will cease to exist. She’s not bad looking in a cougar-y sort of way, but if conversations with her are anything like the screechy “I’ll yell louder than you and that makes me right” tirades of the birthers, proofers, tea-baggers, and other rejects from the John Birch Society of Ruby Ridge Branch Davidians, I think we can pass because there is nothing to see here people. Just move along.

  22. Comment by Big Daddy — September 14, 2009 @ 5:15 pm

For the record, talking about the weather is the lamest pick-up there is. It ranks right up there with “What’s your sign, baby–mine is Feces.”

At least she is not as beastly looking like Randi Rhoades.Still Ann needs to put some weight on those skinny legs and thighs.

  26. Comment by LRT — September 14, 2009 @ 6:14 pm

OMG Your right about the Adams Apple!
She is just 1/2 chromosome away from a man…Or, maybe her parents had the choice!!

Rake in the cash, Annie Baby. Those loud-mouthed liberals, excuse me, I mean progressives, can’t stand it. Let them worship that greaseball wino Olberman.

She always has something interesting to say and can raise the hackles of the opposition.

One of the BEST debaters around!

Coulter is a n ugly old troll
I cant believe Reps are proud to have this hateful spiteful mean spirited person on their side.
I dont mind Rep views or beliefs.

But when you make jokes at the expence of 911 widows and their families you have no class.

  34. Comment by Big Daddy — September 15, 2009 @ 9:39 am

Obie one–I disagree that she is a good debater. Good debates are where people make salient points based on agreed facts and statistics. From what I’ve seen of Ms. Coulter, she simply parrots half truths and hyperbole, but does it with a smarmy sort of smirk which makes her look “smart” to people who aren’t. She and Sarah Palin seem to share that trait. By smart I mean people who have endeavored to underdstand a subject fully by studying its history and application under varied circumstances and are able to use logic to apply their learning to a new problem. That type of study exists in any type of endeavor, be it car mechanics, rocket science, landscaping, surgery, or even debate. My read of her books and articles tells me that she doesn’t appear to have the depth of understanding of conservatism that a learned person like Malthus, Keynes, Burke, or Friedman demonstrate. In fact, it doesn’t even appear that she knowns who these paragons of conservatism ARE! In that way, she is exactly like Rush, Hannity, Beck, and all of the people who post on these comment sites and claim to be conservative–she is not learned enough to truly have a debate about conservatism because the only thing she knows about it is something she heard from some politician who was twisting whatever he or she know to further their political goals. She has done no real study of the subject on her own and is therefore incapable of debating the real issues from a conservative point of view–at least not like Friedman could. She can read from cue cards and a teleprompter, but the fact is that she and her other media allies are intellectual lightweights and THEY ALL KNOW IT! That’s why they shout so loud.

That’s why when she is put under an intense probe of her positions, she often has to back down from a comment or admit that she didn’t have all the available information about a subject. Either that or make another accusation or shout another catchword, as if that should cover for her lack of scholarship in true conservatism. Her “debate” style consists solely of one-liners and zingers that sound more like a comedian’s put down than informed opinion.

There’s nothing wrong with that if it’s just for entertainment and she is simply playing the role of “mean skinny over-reactive and hyperbolically conservative woman” who could be analogized to Mrs. Malaprop. But too many people see her as being some sort of great thinker and that worries me because the country needs better thinkers than her and the Republicans seem to be satisfied with mediocre (or non-existent) thinking.

OUR COUNTRY NEEDS CRITICAL THINKERS WHEREVER THEY MAY BE!!!! It doesn’t matter what party they affiliate with–we just need some brainiacs in the room when we make decisions on major US policy. Bush seemed to disdain brainiacs and now the Republican party that formed around him seems incapable of embracing a person who engages in the kind critical thought necessary to make GOOD policy decisions instead of BAD ones. Our countrymen have suffered enough from the Bush style of bad policy decisionmaking, haven’t they?

That is unless you think a guy who shouts “YOU LIE!!” is the hallmark of intellectual discourse that institutions such as Yale, Harvard, Princeton, Brown, and Cornell sought to produce.

AMERICA–WE CAN DO BETTER THAN PEOPLE WITH EMPTY IDEAS AND NO IMAGINATION!!! I know none of you think that Ann Coulter is the best thinker out there. If you do, I feel sorry for you because I know you haven’t experienced much of the world beyond your television.
