WRMF’s Jennifer Ross gone in a West Palm minute

A staple in the area radio landscape for 25 years, Jennifer Ross was fired from the WRMF-97.9 FM morning show Monday. She had a year and a half left on her contract, according to several sources.
Neither the West Palm Beach station’s manager nor Ross commented. Radio personalities who are fired often sign confidentiality agreements and aren’t allowed to talk to the media.
But a radio biz stalwart tells me the morning show’s staff was told Monday that Ross, 51, would be replaced by Detroit personality Chad Mitchell.
“It came out of left field,” the source said, adding that Ross is now considering a career change. “She’s still a little shell-shocked. She says the station wants to go younger. For some reason, they want her to tell people she’s going to be on a leave of absence. They’ll be paying her for a year.”
And that won’t be cheap for the station. Insiders believe Ross is the highest-paid radio personality in the area, possibly making upward of $200,000 a year.
The move has surprised observers. Ross appealed mostly to women and made WRMF one of the highest-rated stations in the area.
The morning crew will now consist of a woman sidekick, Deena Lang, and two testosterone-soaked dudes, Danny Czekalinski and Mitchell.

When reached on his cell phone, Mitchell, who had been a long-time producer on WKQI’s Mojo in the Morning in Detroit before his unsuccessful attempt at starting a country station there, declined comment.

I’m told Michell was flown to SoFla by WKGR-98.7 FM The Gater earlier this month. There, morning stars Paul Castronovo and Ron Brewer had him try out for a week on the air. He didn’t get a job offer. Station officials found him “a tad abrasive.”
But Michell took advantage of his presence in the area to drive up to West Palm to meet WRMF officials. His start date hasn’t been released on the station’s Web site.
“He and Danny have a history,” said the source. “They’ve been friends for a long time.”

Like Jennifer I am in shock. I am of the same age group as Jennifer and WRMF has been my Radio Station since the 80’s. I will now find an alternative Station to listen to when I drive to and from work.

This is ridiculous, Jennifer has been like a friend to us all. She is the only one that can keep Danny from crashing to the ground. This will be another shock jock morning show ***boring***. WRMF was always the first station in my radio, now I’m not sure if I can say I will continue to listen.
Good luck Jennifer, I know you will be great in anything that you do.
Of course the station let her go with only 1.5 yrs left! It’s so like companies to do that when benefits & retirement plans are in place, so that the company does not have to pay. That is what it all boils down to - the financial aspect of it all. How sad, I am no longer interested in listening to this station now!

This is ridiculous. Danny is already kinda ridiculous, the only thing that kept me listening was having Jennifer and Deena to balance him out. Without Jennifer, forget it. This is why people keep getting turned off from radio. It’s all about money so you get more ads, more phoned-in syndicated shows, and less local flavor.

I have been listening for many years to 97.9 and eventually it can get stale. Whether or not Jennifer was fired is not the issue, but to keep Danny who has been arrested makes no sense. If a team member is let go, then the whole team should go, what is the sense of keeping one and not the other.
The station has been playing more hip sounding music lately, so maybe the station wants to go more younger. Earning a salary for the next year would be okay by me!!

I was around when Kevin Kitchens died and she being his best friend went through hell. She is an Awesome Host and she will be GREATLY! and that is an understatement missed! I will be moving on as well then.
I stopped listening once they put Danny on the air. No matter how much I liked Jennifer, I couldn’t stand him. Whenever I’d listen, I’d feel agitated — he was such an idiot. I wish Jennifer well, though!

Jennifer was the reason I kept listening after Kevin Kitchens passed away. They were a great team and Jennifer continued and kept the tradition of excellence alive at WRMF. Her generation is the boomer generation, the largest alive. This makes no sense and my family will find another station now.
I have listened to Jennifer since moving here in 1986. I will not listen to WRMF without Jennifer. That was the only way I tolerated Danny. Good Luck Jennifer!
WRMF had a terrific foursome - Bill Ryan, Danny, Jennifer and Deena. Then they “laid-off” Bill and now “fired” Jennifer. It appears that WRMF management doesn’t care if they lose listeners (which they have now). Such a shame.

This is a true case of discrimination! Jennifer brought in the listeners & the revenue and this is what she gets? I have been a fan of Jennifer’s since she started in 1980. Watch out - she’ll bounce back better than ever! Time for a new morning show.
I will change stations along with thousands of other listeners. Since 1986 a loyal listener. Sad the way of the world these days. Companies making sure they get rid of the loyal, good workers, who make them money, so they don’t have to pay retirement benefits. SAD!

I did listen (by accident)last week to the Ron & Paul radio and heard Mitchell (Ross’s replacement) and he was very abrasive I thought also. Back to books on tape or 955 station for me. Denna Lang, good luck working with those two guys, you’ll need it, I like you alot. We’ll all miss you Jennifer. I’m around the same age as Jennifer and I feel pretty young still, and Jennifer, you act young too. Shame on WRMF you’ll no longer be rated a #1 listening radio station i’m sure. WRMF’s new business plan must include losing market share. They had something unique and shot themselves in the foot.

What a great mistake. Jennifer, Danny, Deena and Ryan make the show. That is why WRMF does so well. Going younger is not always the best case senario. You executives need to get it together. You just lost a long time listner.
If they are going younger than why are the playing old school flashbacks from the 80’s? This is definitely a shock and like it or not WRMF - Jennifer IS/WAS your ratings. Guess Im making the move to 98.7 Ron & Paul. Danny & Deena cant carry the show themselves and I could care less about a newbie Michell.
I haven’t listen to the station for years since she came back because of the lawsuit from a past employer. She turned me off with a cocky attitude. I will give it a shot one more time. But I must say I love 105.5 (great bunch of people)They always found a way to get me to tune in.

That sucks! I like Jennifer. I think most women from 25-60 were able to relate to her. I think it was a bad move. I won’t say that I’ll NEVER listen, but, I doubt I will be listening as much as before.

Unfortunately, I stopped listening a long time ago because of Danny. I could not stomach the man. I missed Jennifer and was waiting for the day Danny left to listen to her again. Never would have guessed Jennifer would be the one to go.
Are they crazy. She is the only reason to listen. We can keep others personalities who behave badly on or off the air but Jennifer is out of the demographic! Well I am well under 50 and she appeals to me. Her comments are the best part of the morting drive. Hope to hear her on another station which I will listen to. Talk about bad business decisions. Spent times with Jennifer and always enjoyed the interaction. However, Danny always seemed distant. Will miss Jennifer very much.
I definitely will not listen to WRMF in the future. Like so many others, I listened to WRMF because Jennifer made the Morning Show. Look out Deena. The way Management is going, you will be “fired” or “laid off” next. Management needs to fire Danny who is disliked, obnoxius,abrasive, an egomaniac and is tolerated at best. I’ve been listening to Jennifer ever since I moved to Florida in the 80’s. She is a great DJ and a great person. I used to love listening to her and Kevin Kitchens - they were great together. The only reason I listened to WRMF was because of Jennifer. Danny is a jerk and I can’t stand listening to him. I will definitely be changing my radio station.
WRMF will only feel the pinch if WE boycott their advertisers. Jennifer’s voice was recognized and more importantly trusted by people in South Florida. Marketing Gold. Now, WRMF is trying to jump on the high octane testosterone driven morning show. Because it was a mature show is why we were listening to it. Morons. Someone at WRMF should lose there job for this poor decision. It is going to murder their ratings.

The show with Danny and Deena is pathetic. Jennifer was the only intelligent comments on there. Maybe they are trying to reach the brainless that Deena is reaching. I am really sorry to see Jennifer go. I was tolerating the two in the morning waiting for Jen to return but now will definitely be looking for a new station.
I am surprised, but not shocked to read about Jennifer Ross termination from the radio scene. As a retired local radio executive on and off the air, I began listening to Jennifer Ross and Kevin, and continued to do so for many years. There is virtually no such thing as local radio, or local radio talent. Which is why I switched to, and listen primarily to satellite radio, when WRMF decided to retain Danny C., along with his documented mental health issues. WRMF I predict will become just another undistinguishable radio station. It is any wonder radio revenue is off about 20%? I am one of many who remember when WRMF was considered one of the outstanding radio stations in the country. Those days ended years ago.

Am shocked too. I have been listening to Jennifer Ross since the 70’s in Ohio listening to Q-FM-96. I loved that she was in So. Florida when I got here. WRMF is one of the few stations left that children can listen to. And if the new DJ is “abrasive”, well, I can tell you we won’t be listeing. Good Luck Jennifer! You will be missed.

Can’t believe they got rid of Jennifer. Danny is horrible. I actually just paid $40 for satellite radio because I’m sick of morning shows in general, but Danny is the worst of the worst. Can’t wait to see their ratings plunge.

I can’t understand why the station wants to alienate the large “mom” population of listeners. What does Danny or Deena know about anything that doesn’t affect them? Danny is as self-centered as they come and Deena sounds nice enough but what does she know about dealing with teenagers? Very poor decision. I won’t be tuning in anymore. Jennifer was the glue.
Jennifer should move into podcasting while she’s “on hiatus” to avoid breaching her contract. Keep her out there and let us hear her.

I was upset when Laurel was let go from channel 5.I refuse to watch that station, I have listened to since the 60’s growing in WPB.Now Jennifer Ross let go.I think its time for who ever makes these decisions to be let go.I remember WRMF was the first FM rock station to come to the Palm Beaches.Before that WIRK or WPOM were our choices in the 70’s for rock.

Jennifer Ross is awesome, granted-however people need change-and change is always for the better. I have been a loyal listener to WRMF for 8 years, and there have already been many changes over the past 5 years. People should not boycott change, that means you are afraid of it. I have been listening to WRMF for what seems like ages…and yes, Jen was a staple and a wonderful talent…the music changed a couple of years back…a little more rock verses playing boring, gag-me Celine Dion and Rod Stewart…I am 35 years old…and really Jen is out of touch with what’s important to me and my friends…she’s almost my mother’s age…and my mother was never in touch with my generation either…they added Deena a few years back and she speaks for the 20 somethings…and i think Danny is more the voice of the men and the 40 somethings…they really need a voice for the 30 somethings…i can’t wait to see what Chad brings to the morning show…now maybe i won’t find myself channel surfing on my way to work…now maybe the morning show will be more hip to what’s cool in my world!! The final nail in WRMF’s coffin. They dumped traffic guy Paul Cavenaugh, the morning news and hurricane guy Mike, the producer Bill Ryan and now Jennifer!
WRMF was great in its day, but Danny and Deena are terrible and hiring another Danny buddy is just sickening.

How very sad. Jennifer has been an icon in her industry. Her honesty and down to earth personality made us feel at home with the station. I’ve known Jen for many years through our mutual commitment to the March of Dimes. She is a genuine person with a heart of solid gold. I hope the station realizes the mistake they’ve made in eliminating her from our lives. Jen was the only reason many of us remained listeners after Danny’s arrest. Jen - Happiness always and luck with whatever new adventures you go for. WRMF - this is a hugh mistake. Your rating are sure to drop drastically with the lose of Jennifer. It’s been great growing with you over the years, but it’s time for me to find a new station.

I don’t see the big deal. Change happens everywhere and to everyone. This brings a new fresh voice to local radio (which we all need). New additions and change is progressive. The show was getting a little old. Kind of boring. Now maybe some spice will show up. Love spice. I will be listening to see what happens. Maybe Chad will be charming and funny! Plus the music on WRMF is why I listen - you cannot find well programmed stations anymore - WRMF is very well programmed and the music is GREAT! Plus, the station does so much for the community - FREE CONCERTS all the time, charity work and the prizes are GREAT. Anyways, that’s my two cents. Good luck Jennifer and Good luck Chad!

I followed Jennifer since she started with Kevin and continued until she teamed up with Danny and then I found that I couldn’t stand his obnoxious voice, views and attitude. I listened for the time that Danny was off the air because of some trouble he had gotten into. It was so nice while he was gone. As soon as he returned I stopped listening. Jennifer has been a valued person for a long time. IF she pops up on another station I will follow her. As far as WRMF well I guess the last three letters of the call sign stand for what I think.
Face it - most people do not like change. However, think of it this way. She had 1.5 years left on her contract. I’d bet she was already thinking about what her next career was going to be, and most likely, was working out the details. So, now she gets paid for the next year to finish her business plan and hopefully get started on it earlier rather than later. Whatever she does, we all know she will do it well!! And with all this wonderful feedback, she now knows just how much she was loved!
Wow, what an awful shock, Jennifer was the only one in this radio station that was worth while listening to. The only one in the group of morons and non-talented radio jockeys that had any common sense and intelligence. She was the only reason I listen to the station. Every time that racist idiot Danny opened his mouth to make stupid and racist statements I changed to a more pleasant conversation on 105.5. I have been listening to WRMF for years in the mornings. I have pitched it to my husband, family, and friends and turned all into listeners. This seals it for me that I will be tuning to a new station & advising the same friends & family of the same. First Bill Ryan & now Jennifer Ross?? I started listening when it was just Jennifer & Danny. The show grew & I loved the rapport between them. In my letter advising them they lost a listener I made sure to let them know there are plenty of testosterone fueled shock-jock morning programs. And a station who plays Rob Thomas in endless rotation should realize 24 year old men are not their core audience and never will be. Miss you Jenn! Hope you come to a new SoFla station soon! Jennifer was the only sane personality on the show…she’s what made Danny tolerable. An Atlanta station tried two (abrasive) males to one female format and it backfired completely. Good luck Jennifer in whatever you decide to do!

Personally I am tired of all morning shows. I really want to listen to music on my way to work. All morning show need to cut back how much they talk and play moree music. That said, I turn wrmf every time I hear dannys voice. All I can think about is his arrest for beating up his girlfriend.

I have’nt listened to “radio” since Kevin Kitchens died. Jennifer, Kevin & Paul were great, listened every weekday morning. Now it’s all garbage, but then again so is this county. Jennifer, a wise “big guy” told me thousand or so times, “DON’T ARGUE WITH A CRAZY PERSON”! Loved all three of you guys, but times a changin’ 4 the worse. GOOD LUCK!
Wow, what a shocker! Jennifer was the only reason I tuned into WRMF all these years. I was already disappointed when Bill Ryan was taken off. That stupid meathead Danny and that ditzy Deena are the pits. Danny is obnoxious and Deena is way out in left field somewhere wandering around lost. I can’t believe they would retain both of those two and let Jennifer go. Not only am I going to find another morning show to tune into, I am going to call the station and voice my opinion about this poor decision.

WRMF is now off my favorite stations button on my car radio. Hopefully in the future Jennifer will go to another station and that station will be my preferred listening has I drive home from work (work night shift).

Not only was I surprised to hear this news but I was even more taken aback with the attitude I got when I called WRMF to express my disappointment with the decision to terminate Jennifer. Someone lost their job period. This is not about whether you like or dislike Jennifer, Danny or Deena. The fact is folks, in spite of all of our progress in the workplace, that we still live in a “young world” where age is disposable. It will happen to each and every one of us - you too will be let go when you reach your 40’s and 50’s! The real problem is the manner in which it was done. The lack of civility and the lack of respect for someone who gave so much of her time for over 25 years - simply pushed to the curb like a piece of garbage. It makes me sick. Good luck Jennifer. I too have been listening to Jennifer since I moved here in 1985. She and Kevin were a class act. I was bummed when she left the evil empire and now lo and behold WRMF is just a bunch of rat bastards too. I do enjoy Deena’a Daily Dirt but Jennifer was the sole reason for high ratings. I hope she gets paid BIG time for the rest of her contract. What a shame…she got up in the middle of the night and prepared thoughtworthy news casts along with insightful comments. The ratings will go in the toilet….I knew something was up when a couple of days ago they said, “She isn’t here” and then NO MENTION at all of her today–not ANY of her recorded spots were aired. When I heard the news this morning, I was stunned. As a close personal friend, I can tell you that Jennifer is pretty broken up right now, most importantly because she also has a family to support. No matter where you are in life, a couple of kids can help you use up a paycheck pretty fast. Jennifer is not just a great radio talent, She’s one of “us”…and has been a part of our daily lives for years. How can the broadcast business just put an arbitrary price on that?
Its interesting all the women commenting here about what a loss and disaster JRs leaving is going to be for the station…well maybe yes maybe no and probably WRMF wants to try diff.format.Actually the last few yrs.it seems more and more stations were trying to attract female listeners by hiring aggressive in your face female jocks and alot of time passive male co-hosts,sign of the times I guess and lets not forget all those fem.hygiene ,breast implant/plastic surgery commercials and all the rest so I dont know that there will be a void here, and for balance let me say Im also not a fan of all the viagra type commercials for men either.

I agree that Jennifer is the heart and soul of the morning show and will not listen anymore. Will never forget the day Kevin died, she was like family. Also saw her at many charity events, including Special Olympics. A few months ago I emailed the station about Deena playing a clip of the Alec Baldwin phone message to his daughter calling her a little pig - Deena made the comment “that makes him even hotter.” I thought that was disgusting and confirmed that I always thought she is the biggest bimbo on radio. I said in my email that I had heard that she was brought in to eventually replace Jennifer, so this may have been in the works for awhile. Of course, I never heard back from the station. I have a three hour round trip commute every day to Miami and get to hear them all - I will never listen to WRMF again - it will be 105.5 until I leave PBC, then switch to Jimmy Cefalo on 610. I also miss Paul Cavenaugh who I relied on every day for traffic information.

First they hire a ding bat, with a scratchy voice, Deena and then they let Bill go instead of her. Now, Jennifer. Bye Bye WRMF. Danny and his new sidekick can’t keep our attention. Again, Jennifer was doomed from the beginning when they hired Danny. I don’t think it was ever a good marriage as he became more and more dominant on the show. I mostly listen to satellite radio but made sure to tune in each AM to Jennifer and Danny. Without Jennifer to add a “mature” voice to the show, I am sure it will offer the same sophmoric garbage available on all the other stations. The last reason for me to listen to anything other than XM just disappeared…

I have been a listener of Jennifer’s for years. I am so disappointed that Jennifer has been treated this way. She brings in lots of advertising dollars because of her close ties to the community and represents my age group which is why I listen. It’s a shame that the management doesn’t see the value in experience. I will not be listening any longer.
I found both Jennifer and Danny obnoxious and have avoided listening to that station all together. Maybe WRMF will get rid of the Danny as well and start from scratch. They can’t do any worse than what they’ve had.
I wonder.. hmmm? If this stems from the lawsuit between WEAT and WRMF.. the one where Jennifer jumped ship from WEAT and went to WRMF.. and they said she did so before her 1 yr non-compete was up?? I read after litigation, then appeals, then a judgment that took forever (from 2000).. that finally .. in MAY of 2008, the jury again found for Infinity and awarded $6.9 million in punitive damages (and $126,511 in compensatory damages that Jennifer was responsible for). I’m sure all that will go up for appeal as well.. but maybe something happened.. and that’s why Jennifer was so unceremoniously fired??
I had the privelege of working on the show with Jennifer a few years back as their producer and she gave that station life moreso than anyone else. This is a sad day in radio.

I am outraged that they did this . Danny was out of control and Deena has been a good asset but Jennifer was the rock that held the show together. I have been a friend and listener to Jennifer Ross for over 20 years and to have management do this to her is not right. If they had been up right …….would be different but to have this done now with all that Jennifer has gone through and what she has done for our area. I hope that the large accounts that was their because of Jennifer pulls their money from sponsorship of the Morning show and WRMF.
Jennifer Ross was the only bit of class this station has had for a very long time. Without her, there will be NOTHING left on WRMF for any educated person to listen to. Time for a change. They should start from scratch. The WRMF morning show has been stale for some time now…. And what about the on-air contests/promotions - - or lack of them? Can’t they come up with something better than “Smarter than Danny” (where they often don’t even give the stuff away) or that lame “Repeat the station mantra” thing they pounded to death last year? Hopefully, someone can figure out something to create listener loyalty, before yet another South Florida station has to switch to a Spanish/Hip-Hop (or, heaven forbid, All-Talk) format.
I guess I am the only one that won’t miss her. She was very boring and rarely heard her say anything on the show. I changed stations recently because the whole show has been boring since they let Bill go.
I wish Jennifer all the best, and thank her for all the good things she has contributed to our community; I recall listening to her when I was in high school over 20 years ago! I must comment that I stopped listening to her years ago after she was given free license to air her political views live on the air. I was quite disappointed that she saw herself, and her show, as a serious source for opinion.

My wife and I are totally shoked and amazed that this could happen to Jennifer. She is as much an icon to the Palm Beaches as Rush Limbaugh (not that there views are the same). We used to listen to her show every day. Now I don’t think we will be listening to WRMF at all anymore. The “spooks” at WRMF may have tried to be a little smoother with the transition of a new and younger replacement. We will miss you Jen!!!
Jennifer has been a long time friend and I’m very sad to see her leave the “air”. I’m sure there are many Palm Beach County residents that will remember all of those times when Jennifer was there for the community, the fund raisers and benefits to help those in need; Sheriff’s Office, Fire Rescue, Trauma Hawk, etc.
You may be off the air but you will remain in our hearts. Thank you for all of the wonderful things you have done for the community!

I’ve been an employee of South Florida radio for many years. Yes, things change and it stinks the way people just disappear. As if nobody would ever realize that Jennifer was gone. I was freaked when BOb and Tom were switched from the Gater to WZZR, but you know what? Those dudes, Paul and Ron…they are local, they speak my language (I’m 42) and you know what? I find myself laughing everyday. One of the guys went to Lake Worth high school, for crying out loud. So, there’s my two cents. I think the show is based in Lauderdale, but they cover Palm Beach, the Treasure Coast and the Keys too. Good luck Jennifer, but I left a long time ago. Paul and Young ron on the Gater are the Sh$t.

Stan, you are right on. I stumbled on the Paul and Young Ron show years ago when I used to drive to Miami daily. WHen they appeared in the gator a couple of years ago, I LOVED it. I hear they are crushing it in the radio ratings. Now that Jennifer is gone from WRMF, I say come over to this show. This morning they were talking to Anthony Fasano from the Dolphins, right after Monday night football, and last week they had Burt Reynolds on. Very cool and insightful interview with Burt.

I’ve know Jennifer for many years. WRMF has never been the same since George left the station. In the beginning Jennifer was cool…However, the older she got the uglyer she became inside and out. I personally watched her treat one of our dear friends, that we all grew up with here in PB, like crap. Just because she thought who the heck she was the our friend, and her’s, still looks really good inside and outside!!! Jennifer lost all of her old time friends because she became more and more a left wing freeky crazy lady. I for one am glad the put her out to pasture! She is nothing more that an old heffffferrr!!! Good riddence to the nasty, mean lady that only gives a crap about herself……unless of course she is being paid to do differently….but that still is just for show. I’m sure Michael D. is finally getting his laugh!
Way to go, WRMF. Danny’s nasal monotoned delivery and mysoginist comments do nothing to help the ratings. Deena’s not bad, but she’s no Jennifer Ross. What a way to treat a real lady - tell her you’re firing her because the station is “going younger.” Wonder how many of the higher-ups at the station are as young as their target market. Too bad a move like this will cost them whatever market they had. Prediction: look for the station as we know it to disappear completely. And good riddance. You earned it.

My husband and I listen to WRMF in the morning; no more. I remember meeting Jennifer years ago when someone in my office won a lunch; she and Kevin (RIP) came in. We really miss Kevin but put up with the new crew at WRMF - Danny is the one that needs to be gone and he is older! He is gross and Deena’s comments don’t help. Shame Bill is gone too.
So, just like Channel 5 when Laurel Sauer was gone (a shame), here is WRMF going that way. Goodbye WRMF.
What a shame. Jennifer made the morning show. Danny is a real jerk, and Deena seems stupid and spineless. It was always a pleasure listening to Jennifer Ross. The others on the show were barely tolerable. I’ll be changing my morning listening habit immediately.

ITS ABOUT TIME!!! OMG I could not stand listening to her and had taken WRMF off my car dial. The only mistake I see is keeping Danny (who is just as bad) and hiring a new big mouth. I might give them a try, but I don’t expect much. Jennifer is a bitter, out of touch older woman - no place for her on a morning show.

As far as WRMF -that past two days the show has been so boring I was wondering where Jennifer was - I was afraid she “disappeared” just as Bill Ryan did - and Danny without Jennifer just isn’t as funny as he used to be - he was Captain Outrageous and Jennifer had the maturity/common sense that I think most listeners could identify with and put him in his place.
In a community where probably the majority of your listeners are over 40, this was not a good move - you have something against “old” people, then I will listen to a station that appreciates us - good luck - haven’t heard a VanKirk pool commercial lately…hmmm..I hope your sponsors pull the plug on you too…..what a rotten thing to do to someone who helped put you on the map.
I Miss you already Jennifer!!! I was totaly shocked to hear this sudden and awful news. I started listening to you and Kevin Kitchens since moving to South Florida in 1991 and have followed you ever since then. I looked forward each and everyday to listening to you. You will be greatly missed!! “HUGE MISTAKE” on WRMF’s part. I have no desire to continue listening without Jennifer as part of the team. You not only are the greatest radio talk show host around but also a very kind hearted and wonderful person! My best to you always and I hope to hear you once again soon on the radio.
I started listening to Jennifer on 9-11-2001 when the moron filling in at another station started screaming about the events unfolding around our country. i changed the station figuring it was one of his stupid pranks only to find it to be a terrible truth and to find Jennifer Ross shaken but very professionally airing the horrible events of the day. I for one will no longer tune into your station. Thank You Jennifer, you will be missed.

I have been listening to Jennifer since moving here in the 80’s. The morning show with Kevin and her was the BEST!!!!! (all of Kevin’s characters were hysterical kept me laughing for hours and wanting more) After Kevin’s passing it was difficult to listen to the morning show, however through her strength she was able to help her audience cope with the loss of Kevin and in return we were able to help Jennifer with the loss of her best friend. The one of many things WRMF should have learned from Jennifer’s time on the air is that she could relate and communicate with the audience. I am all for change however the changes that have occurred at WRMF are devastating. I can only hope that the executives who have made this decision realize that this change could be just as devasting to WRMF as the housing market has been to South Florida. CRASH… your going DOWN boys and girls….. Jennifer you are a great radio personality and should reconsider that career change, stay on the radio ……. You should be very proud of yourself and the job you have done over the past 20 plus years you have a lot more friends then you will ever know. One more thing,it is there loss they were holding you back. You have no where else to go but up… We will find you, whatever station you go to. You will be deeply missed. Best of luck in the future. I will not listen to this station. First Bill and now Jennifer. The writing has been on the wall for awhile. They replace Bill with “Boca Tanya”? Danny is annoying. Deena will not be able to hold up to the pressue of both Danny and Mitchell. She has a hard time with just Danny!! Jennifer you will be missed!!!!!!!!!! Good Luck Deena, You’ll probably be next.
I started listening to WRMF back in 1981 with Russ Morley and Jennifer, then Kevin. I got to know some of the others at the station as well, like George, Robbie, and Maria, wen they were still on Flagler next to Good Sam Hospital. Back then, before stations were being bought and sold on what seemed liked a yearly basis the station had a small home town feel to it. Then there was Paul with the Yellowcopter doing traffic reports. I changed stations when Kevin left for San Diego and Jennifer was off the air, until they came back to Sunny 104.3. I listen to them there until Kevin died and stayed tuned to that station and then back and forth with WRMF and WEAT when Jennifer went back to WRMF and then pulled off the air. I continued listening to WRMF when Russ Morley cam back and worked with Mickey until he left and then Russ left. I then switched back to Sunny for awhile and then KOOL 105.5, but soon got tired of their format. By 4 PM I knew what sogs still had to be played and tried going back to WRMF, but could not stand the music they were playing. WRMF wasn’t the same format it was when Russ, Kevin, Ken and Dandy Don were there. I switched over to Classy 92.1 for a while until they switched that format to NON ENGLISH SPEAKING STAION (MIA 92.1), playing SPAMEX music. So I totally dropped all Clear Channel stations from the radio and tried WRMF once again. I could not stand Danny, but did like Deena and Bill with Jennifer. Between Danny and the music being played I found a home at WIRK on December 5th, 2007. Some changes have taken place there as well. But I stopped listening to WRMF because it just didn’t sound and feel like it did years ago.
WOW, I remember the first time I met Jennifer Ross, she was having dinner with her family. I reconized her voice from the radio and decided to say hello, she introduced me to her family and was always very funny & friendly.What a great lady. That was ten years ago. Once a fan always a fan. I will follow Jennifer . See ya WRMF! You HAD a good thing.
I didn’t listen to Ross on a regular basis , but she was familiar . The media biz is rough , just ask Neil Rogers .

Jennifer your morning show was cool and made me laugh.It was clean and not full of filth like some other morning shows they have on.My children and I listen to you as we would get ready for school,now I don’t know what to expect.The older generation as you might call us love radio, not ipods & mp3 players, but real live people, that’s what gets us going in the am.I am so disappointed with WRMF. You will regret your decision, so many people looked up to your station. This is a bad move, & shame on those who work with her every morning, stand up and get her back !!!!

This really was a shock — fist Bill and now Jennifer — as others perviously said Danny is obnoxiuous, a woman beater and full of himself — but I guess that is what the station wants — Deena is the only saving Grace and I am sure that her days are numbered also. They had a good thing going and now I hope there ratings plummet — I will not listen any more. I wonder who makes these decisions and obviously we know where there heads are!!!!

In my opinion, this was a really bad move on their part. Getting rid of Jennifer to go for “the younger crowd” is a mistake. When it was just Deena, Bill and Jen during Danny’s episode, the show just didn’t flow well. Danny’s banter and Jen’s calm offset were a good balance. Now you’ll have Mr. OCD control freak taking completely over or clashing with the new guy, and Deena in the middle taking hell from them both.
Hitting the station where it counts, in their advertisers, won’t be hard in my book. Not like most 20-somethings can really afford Lasik, plastic surgery, sedation dentistry and the other garbage they tended to prattle on about.
If the 20 something crowd is where they want to go, and they keep those ads, that tells me they are just as shallow as their desired listener base.
I know my radio won’t be tuning back in to WRMF, thats for sure.

If I wanted to listen to a raunchy male duo show I could listen to several…but I chose to listen to WRMF because it was funny, relatable, relevant and a show that I could listen to with a young child in the car. The show was at its best when Bill Ryan was part of the mix. It had a Mom/Friend..voice of reason, obnoxious guy, ditzy girl, and a somewhat nerdy guy. We could all relate to someone. The show started to lose its luster after they DUMPED Bill.
Advertisers beware. Danny and Deena couldn’t give a CRAP about your products and it TRANSLATES to the audience. Jennifer had a way of making us TRUST her recommendations whether it was for a pool or a Honda. The other day Danny and Deena totally forgot to read their ad spots. Then once Deena realized they rushed through them and even had their boss and the worthless Boca Tanya read them. If I had paid for those spots, I would have been hacked and would have demanded a refund! They should have been reprimanded We will no longer be listening and will be moving to the Mo and Sally show. I have no desire to listen to a set of vulgar and mindless guys in the morning.

Hi Pam, I think you are refering to my post when you were on Flagler Drive. I remember coming in to the lobby very often and it seemed like everyone was having fun. Somehow I always seemed to time it right when there were cases of Champange next to the door and Robbi would pour me a glass. I remember walking in one day and you were standing in the news room and waved to me as I was talking to Maria. My brother interned there with John Picano and Jack Cole. The station when owned by Fairbanks seemed so much more like a family than a business.

I’m in total shock! I’ve followed Jennifer for years and will miss her. Think I’ll be changing stations now as I find Danny to be obnoxious and rude. I think she kept him in line. Deena is OK but can’t come close to Jennifer. Best of luck to Jennifer. She beat the legal odds before and hopefully she’ll bounce back better and stronger this time in whatever she undertakes. You can bet if she goes on another South Florida radio station that I’ll be there listening.

I am so sorry to hear about Jennifer Ross. I was a fan of hers for a long time. I always thought that Jennifer had a lot of class. I remember once I sent her a letter and I never expected to hear from her directly. She actually called me on the phone to tell me that she was in receipt of my letter and thanked me for writing to her. I told her that I was shocked to hear from her personally and she said that if someone could take the time to write to her the least she could do was take the time to acknowledge that I had contacted her. I thought that was unbelievable. I, unfortunately, stopped listening to WRMF because I couldn’t take Danny anymore. Then when the added Deena her and Danny verbally sparring every morning got to to be a bit much. I found Danny to be obnoxious and irritating. I loved Bill Ryan and then he was gone. I found him on light FM 101.5 in Broward last Sunday am. It was good to hear his voice. I wish Jennifer all the best life has to offer she deserves it. She is one class act.

We listen to the Danny & Jennifer show every day on our way to work. We will miss her and we are going ti find another station to listen to.
They may bring in some younger (male) listeners but I think they will lose majority of their main listeners who have been loyal for a long time. They have been great at playing a multiple range of music that everyone enjoys so I hope they do not change that as well. I still doubt that much of the younger generation will switch from their own stations that they have enjoyed apart from their parents regardless of the change in radio show host. Good Luck Jennifer - You deserve better !

First of all, Jennifer Ross sucks. Every morning she is five years late to the prom. Always out of the loop on current events, news, and gossip, which quite frankly are the meat and potatoes of that shitty morning show anyway? I mean, how hard is it to watch primetime cable at night then discuss and debate it the following day at the ass crack of morning? For 200K a year she barely does that accurately let alone at a pace to keep up with her domestic dispute headliner and quick weight loss system sidekick. Who really listens to radio these days anyway especially WRMF? I’ll admit, I tried it for awhile when I was boning this chick that worked there but seriously, if I had a nickel for every time I heard “Gives you Hell” in a single day I’d be sailing on my yacht with the money gathered from it. We are all asking why she got canned and where she will go from here. What we should be asking is why didn’t it happen sooner and gives a shit what she does next? Hey Jennifer, I hear Wal-Mart is hiring. At the rate radio is going today, pretty soon you’ll be a great referral for the other members of your team. Between Lang’s constant sarcasm and Czekalinski’s juvenile tattoos, they will both be a great fit stocking shelves and ringing up Haitian’s groceries.

I’ve followed Jennifer for 25 years. Her radio shows and all the community work she does have always put a smile on my face. I listened to WRMF just for her show. I will be moving to another station.
Jennifer and I have grown “up” together. Listened since the ’80s when the station first started. I, too, am appalled that they would keep a man like Danny. I can’t even stand to hear his voice since his “incident.” Yeah, no conviction. He’s lucky he even has a job. Probably won’t for long now. Ha!

I moved to FL in ‘97. Jennifer and I never met, but I felt she was my friend in the AM. I followed her move from her former station to this one. I have no reason to listen to WRMF She was my reason. I am also a boomer. We are one of the largest groups in the nation. Thanks WRMF for making that a consideration when you go with the younger radio personalities. I am totally disappointed in the decision to fire Jennifer. She is the BEST! I will be removing the station from my car memory. The station I have listened to for years is gone. The WRMF podcast is full of BS and lies. They couldnt tell the truth if they tripped over it. I found Jennifer to be a complete downer to listen to. On the radio, she sounded like she was bored. At public appearances she was unfriendly and arrogant and, again, seemed to be bored. Good riddance.

I have to agree - this was a total shock and yes, the morning show started to change when they let Bill Ryan go. I too was a loyal listener; but after listening to the show (without Jennifer) I have decided to switch radio stations. I have no desire to give Chad a chance. As Danny stated this morning, NO ONE can take Jennifer’s place. My question to management is “why try to fix something that isn’t broken?” AND if you believe that “it is broken” then why not look at the show as a whole? Why have a knee jerk reaction and start firing those that make the most money? Jennifer was “the morning show” and certainly deserved every penny she made. If it really is about money then maybe management should take a look at their salaries and make adjustments accordingly. I am not quite sure if management has really listened to Boca Tanya’s voice, but she sounds horrible on radio and definitely is “NOT” someone that I want to hear in the morning - even if she is only given a small amount of air time. I hope Jennifer decides to stay in the radio business -I will definitely be a “loyal” listener! Deena, I suggest you start looking because you could be next.

At 57, I can’t remember a time when I woke up to an alarm. I awoke to The Buzz for 9 years until they fired their morning crew. Then, I found WRMF. I was already outraged when they fired Bill Ryan. This is the last straw. I will now wake up to an alarm and turn on one of my online music stations from Europe instead. WRMF? Backstabbers! In the end, they’ll be the architects of their own destruction.

I am so disappointed in WRMF. This was a bad decision and I think they will loose many listeners because of it. I have been listening to Jennifer since the 80’s and have followed her to other stations. I agree with other posts here that it was a good balance when it was Jennifer, Bill, Danny and Deana, but now that they got rid of Bill and Jennifer I will have to change stations. The constant badgering that goes on between Danny and Deana is just annoying and who wants to hear that so early in the morning. Alot of people already have those types of relationships in their personal lives whether it be at home or at work so why would we want to listen to it on the radio. The radio is suppose to be an enjoyable escape. Bill and Jennifer were the true balance to Danny and Deana. WRMF has just lost a loyal listener. Their loss. Jennifer will be fine. We love you Jennifer.

People such as yourself are the reason that Florida Natives have always called Boca Raton - Boca Rotten. So snobby to the extent they had the audacity to change the pronunciation of Raton to Ratone! My parents lived here since 1950 and it was never called Boca Ratone! It was Raton sounds like baton or do you pronounce baton like batone,too? I went to Boca Raton High School, we called it Boca Raton HS not Boca Ratone HS.
In Jennifer’s defense, it seems like everyone wants to feel like they worked hard and long to feel important, but it sounds like you are just plain jealous!
I listened to WRMF for the 12 years I lived in S. Fla. When I moved out of the area, I still listened to the morning show - only for Jennifer - on the Internet. She held that show together. Danny and Deena - please! What a joke. I agree with another comment, this supposed new guy was too rough for the Gator? Ok, good plan RMF, hire someone abrasive, that’s going to help the demographic. For everyone who went through Kevin’s death, the unfortunate lawsuit, and patiently waiting for Jennifer to come back on the, this really brings up the question, why hasn’t she really been able to catch a break since Kevin died? What a joke to leave Danny and Deanna on the air. Without Jen they are nothing. I have listened to Jen for most of her career in South Florida following her to the station when she came from one radio show to another. All the good people are gone and you have a jerk that can’t see any thing good in people and makes fun of people for a sport. When she had a day off I would not, could not listen to the show. It was boring. Jen I hope you have the best luck in the future. You will be missed. It was your show that kept me going when my father died years ago. It was the link to sanity that I needed. I have listened to Jennifer since she partnered with Kevin. The station certainly has been making changes, which do not appeal to every listner. Jennifer and Danny had a very good repartee and who didn’t love Bill. I missed him at the Blue Martini is Fort Lauderdale on Friday nights.
Actually I find the Deana vs Danny banter most annoying. The appearance of Tonya implied that they were looking for a younger audience. With the departure of Jennifer, I will be looking for another station.

I wish Danny was given the BOOT instead of Jennifer. No way could I listen to two Dudes, who are both abrasive, and poor Deena Lang has to sit there and take it. I think it would have been better to boot Danny because the new guy, Deena and Jennifer would have made a better team. My heart was always with Jennifer and Kevin..Then I listened to Jennifer at the other station and then back to WRMF..but no more now..they sure hurt themselves…should have got rid of Danny and left Bill Ryan and Jennifer. sorry for Jennifer, but i switched to Magic 1027 a year ago when they got rid of that idiot bruce and put joe johnson and donna davis together. they are a good team and very funny and relatable to south florida. johnson has been here 30 or 40 years and hes a funny guy. they also changed their music and now play lots of rock and roll from the 70s..great station.

I don’t think WRMF knows their demographics. Jennifer appealed to all ages and was the only reason I listened to the show. If they are looking to appeal to the 20 year olds with shock jock mentality they have grossly underestimated their marketable audience.

I can’t say I’m shocked at the news…in this economy no one seems to be safe. I am disappointed though that WRMF felt compelled to fire a radio personality that brought a smile, humor and honesty to the radio. I liked Jennifer, Danny and Deena as a team…they could appeal to different ages. I’m not going to bother listening to the new guy….I’ll tune into 95.5 they were my second choice in the morning but now they will be my only choice.
I have been a loyal fan of Jennifer Ross since the days of Kevin Kitchens. Jennifer is so natural she is like a polished diamond. Listening to the morning show with Jennifer relaxed and invigorated one so going off to the job seemed painless. I will certainly miss her comments and opinions and intelligence. I have already reset my clock radio to Mo and Sally. Corporate America has really wrecked havoc with our economy because of their failures of excessive greed and not listening to the people; and WRMF, you have just failed with your decision. Danny has been knocked pretty hard in these comments; I’m betting he’s just as shocked as the rest of us.
I enjoyed listening to Jennifer and Danny every morning, I think that they both worked well together on the radio and it will not be the same. I use to lisgten to Wild 95.5 but so enjoyed the 97.7 morning show. Why change something that wasn’t broken….

The show changed for the worst when Danny and later Deena joined the show. Danny is too abrasive and abusive, not only to women, but in general. The show lost it’s appeal. Other stations offer a positive view at life and the speedbumps of life. The current members start every day off with a negative tone. Good for Jennifer! Man, what a bummer! I just found this morning show a few months ago. It has been so refreshing to listen to, after nothing but macho crap for years. I REALLY LOVED the 2 gender point of view. The banter between Deena and Danny is only funny with Jennifer there as the voice of reason. She is funny, laid back, and so easy to listen to. I must say she has been the reason I’ve kept tuning in. I can’t take another testosterone driven show. I’ll go back to my cd’s in the mornings.

Sad that in this day and age women are still second fiddle to men in the work place. It seems the belief in radio is that a woman cannot be the number one host on a morning show. Jennifer was a long time resident of South Florida. Danny is from Cleveland and now they are bringing in someone from Detroit. They should have hired Mark Summers who use to work for the Buzz. He was familiar to West Palm Beach and would have brought in a good audience. BTW - Danny is not exactly “young”.

I, like much of South Florida, was stunned when I heard that Jennifer Ross was fired. I always thought of Jennifer as a true CLASS ACT. She has been through many rough patches in her career such as the death of Kevin Kitchens and leaving the “evil empire”, but she has always come out on top. Jennifer, if you are reading this, know that you are well loved and you will be missed every morning, not only by this 40-something, but by all of South Florida!
I was shocked to hear this news! Jennifer is the only reason that I listened to the WRMF morning show. When I moved here several years ago, I tried to find a replacement to the show I was used to back home. Now, sadly, I will have to find another station to listen to not only in the morning but any time of day. Jennifer was the glue. She will be successful in any endeavor. I do not believe that the WRMF morning show can say the same.
Like most people in the Biz or others who are terminated without cause, Jen was wrongfully slashed and should defintely look into a wrongful termination lawsuit based upon both age and sex discrimination.
Danny and Dina seemed sincerely choked up when they made their podcast, but the real surprise will come in WRMF’s ratings losses when the new book comes out for this quarter. Jen is a local institution like Neil Rogers…and I just can’t wait to listen to her again, whereever she turn’s up!!

I reduced my listening after they layed off Bill and now will totally stop listening with no Jen. Deena, I like you, but Danny does absolutely nothing to me. I will be listening to 97.3 the coast and those two girls in the morning. WRMF traffic sucks any way….. The talk about 95 only in Palm Beach county and north, then 595 in Broward but nothing on 95 between 595 and the county line…. never report the traffic that I sit in…..

WRMF was on the radio when my wife and I woke up. Now it is gone. Danny, although does a great interview, lost that when Bill went away and took the interviews with him. Deena always sounds like she wants to be somewhere else with a ‘I guess I gotta do it” voice. So just like Footy at Y100, the stability is gone. We’ll see what happens. Sounds like a ‘cutting the overhead to be able to sell the station’ move to me. Next thing you know, the show will originate in New York City or Chicago. Ride those Wild Horses on the ranch, Jenn and enjoy sleeping in for awhile!

I have listened to Jennifer since she started in this area and have followed her to whichever station she was on. I have already removed 97.9 from my programed radio stations. What is it with the radio stations in this area, first another local country station gets rid of two of their morning show people and now WRMF. IT will now be Mo and Sally on 105.5 every morning, all morning they are great!!!!!
As a morning drive time listener for over 5 years I thought Jennifer Ross should have been taken off the air long ago. She wasn’t ever funny, no intelligent comments, simply not very good in an unscripted environment. Voice was not pleasing, she was plain and simple way past her prime if she ever had one. if she was making $200,000 that’s about $199,000 more than she’s worth. They should have brought back Bill Ryan.
I have been a listener for about a year and a half, since moving to south florida. I liked the music. It was smooth and not abrasive. Made a nice morning ride. I liked the conversations, too, between Danny and Jennifer. It was cool and funny. I always wondered why Deena was there. I never heard the woman make one intelligent remark. I would bet she never read a book. The only thing she commented on, ever, was which bar was cool and who in Hollywood was leaving their girlfriend. But she is young, she brags about her 34 Ds and I guess that is what they want. How sad.
I am so sorry to hear that Jen was fired!!!. But I am wondering what the real reason is. Could it be that Jennifer was negotiating with another radio station to perhaps jump ship after her contract expired? I can’t help but compare this situation to Laurel Sauer. Whatever the real reason is I will no longer be listening to WRMF. Maybe Jennifer should hook up with Russ Morley again, they were also a great duo.

I suggest all of Jennifer’s fans should boycott any of the advertised products on WRMF as I am sure the management will not care if they lose a loyal listener but they will care if they lose any of their sponsors. I guess Danny got what he wanted….A radio show with his friends all by himself. I disliked Danny from day one but when he got away with hitting a women and the radio station condoned it that was the end for me. Jennifer Ross brought listeners to WRMF. I suppose that was not enough for the powers that be and she was to much for Danny to compete with. Deena..get out while the gettins good. Jennifer good luck, good things happen to good people and WRMF letting you go may have been a blessing

Wow…I’m out a few days due to illness and they’ve fired Jennifer! I stopped listening for a few months because of maternity leave and discovered Bill gone! Is any job sacred at WRMF?? I like Deena but it was Jennifer’s presence that brought the group full circle. I don’t see it lasting. Watch their ratings drop and they’ll see just how valuable Ms. Ross was to that station in the morning. All $200,000 of it!
I don’t even care for the station’s music much but as soon as I’d hear Jennifer’s voice I’d tune in immeditely for the duration. That is with the exception of when Danny’s quiz would start - then I would tune out. Heard Danny, Deena and the new guy yesterday. It was painfl. Miss Paul, Bill, and Jennifer. Good luck Deena.
I have listened to Jennifer Ross, and, Kevin Kitchens when I first moved to southeast Florida many, many years ago. After winning the last PIRATES PLUNDER back in 1995, or so, I got to know Jennifer Ross, and, Kevin Kitchens fairly well. You would think that after this many years one would be safe at their job. WHAT A BUNCH OF BASTARDS, IF YOU ASK ME, to do that to anyone that MADE THE RADIO STATION THAT THEY ARE TODAY. The morning DJ’s they have today are nothing compared to what they just let go.

I always wondered why Deena’s name wasn’t included in the “Jennifer & Danny Show” since Deena & Danny do most of the conversing. Jennifer was too busy on Facebook with her farm animals. I’m sure she’ll be fine.
So what are Danny and Deena like at events? Are they nice to the listeners? I’ve never gone to any. I’ve tried the new dude, Chad, and I won’t be listening long. Just very annoying. I listened to WRMF in the mornings on my way to work because of Jennifer and Danny being together and I thoght the dynamic was wonderful. Bill was great as well.I will no longer be listening and will be tuning in to Y-100 instead. Sorry Danny and Bill
I’ve been listening to the new line up and it is truly missing something. Jennifer, Danny and Deena had a wonderful way of putting all the odd ball and offbeat quips together and they flowed so smoothly. Today it seemed like they were pulling teeth to keep the conversation flowing…Deena is working overtime trying to make things work while Danny sounds preterbed and is trying to make the show fall flat.
I listenED to WRMF at home while getting ready for work, on the drive in, on my computer at work and on the drive home. Oh well. WITHOUT JENNIFER, BYE BYE! You seriously need to re-think what you have done. Maybe, just maybe it is not too late to gravel to her to get her to come back. Who ever made the decision to fire her should be fired and that person(s) salary(ies) should be given to Jennifer. Unbelievable! Someone upstairs messed up, big time! Give me a break. i turned the station then; and after many years of loyal listening, it will not be changed back. If you stay in radio Jennifer, I will look for where you end up and become a loyal listener there. WRMF sucks now.
Also a long time Jennifer Ross fan from the Kevin Kitchen days. I loved the banter between Jennifer and Danny. Hated when Deena came along as she has no substance and adds nothing interesting to the commentary. I won’t be tuning in to WRMF anymore, either.

Because I had been busy in the mornings, I had not listened for a few days; then, I tuned in and heard this other guy–not Jennifer. There’s nothing funny about him. He just doesn’t seem to fit. The chemistry is all off with the new guy, now. You can’t create chemistry; it is somehting that happens, and it’s not happening any more for the WRMF morning show. I’ll be listening to Moe and Sally and Paul and Young Ron from now on. I was sad when Bill left because he added a lot to the show–the loveable good guy, but without the former chemistry that Jennifer, Danny, and Deena had, the show is hard to listen to. There’s no exciting energy any more.

I’m going to repeat one of the other comments. Please call the show’s advertisors. We former listeners are smart, savvy and we have money to spend. If we want to hurt them encourage the sponsors to spend less money with the station. It was also very nice of Moe and Sally to welcome all of us new listeners. This is very upsetting! I just moved to the area and was soo glad to find a morning show to wake up to that wasn’t irritatingly superficial (seems to be the theme around here). Jennifer was most definitely a voice of reason and grounded the conversations, making them a pleasure to listen to. I think this station should be ashamed about the way they handled the situation, firing her before her contract was up. I am appalled and have actually switched my alarm clock to the “alarm” function because I’m giving up on morning radio talkshows. I am unsure how the station managers think this move will appeal to a “younger” audience. I’m 23 and was a huge fan of how the show was when Jen was on it.. genuine! Now the station is another run of the mill south florida gossip line. Keep your chin up Jennifer, you are appreciated!
I stopped listening after she was fired. She gave the morning show its edge. Danny and Deena are a yawn. Jennifer has a discrimintion suit if she cane prove she was fired because the station wanted a younger slant.
Like others who have left comments - I will now find another radio station - I love Danny and like Deena as well - but Jennifer and Danny MADE the show - When Jim Ryan was booted out the show lost something special - but now Jennifer - is WRMF nuts? And I have listed to the new line-up for the last week or so — and it is BORING — Danny needed Jennifer - and so does Deena — they got the “energy” from Jennifer - and their personalities bounced off Jennifer!!!

The show should have been renamed “The All About Danny Show.” Deena was a good addition, but just couldn’t tolerate D anymore. I’m really surprised to see that I must be the only one who didn’t like Jennifer! I just assumed alot of other people found her as annoying as I did. There were constant references to her wealth, and her husband the pilot which she obviously viewed as a status symbol. She always tried to act embarrassed or demure when comments were made about her being rich but I could always tell that she really ate it up. Her voice totally annoyed me. I always hit mute when her commercials came on, or if she was just talking too much. So I’m not at all sorry to hear she’s gone, surprised but not sorry. I think Danny is entertaining and totally neurotic. I really liked Bill Ryan too, and don’t know what happened to him. I could also do without Deena Lang. Haven’t heard the new guy you were talking about yet. I also listen to Paul & Ron on Gater so am not always listening to WRMF.

I agree with Hazel (post #379), and Jennifer Ross was the ONLY reason I listened to WRMF. It’s now been deleted from my radio presets, and since I have XM Satellite Radio, there is now no longer any need to listen to local FM.
To Teresa (post #377): “wealth” is a matter of perspective, and to a homeless person, a part-time job holder can seem ‘wealthy’. Jennifer and her husband might appear to you to be ‘wealthy’ or even ‘comfortable’, however they have ALWAYS worked VERY hard to support their family, especially given the obstacles that they have had to overcome, and Jennifer has done an incredible amount of charity work in this community along the way. She has not been arrested for domestic battery, nor embarrassed her profession in any way. After listening to Danny for a couple of years, I only stayed with the station because of Jennifer. However, the last few months, I don’t find Danny funny, in fact I find him downright insulting. The banter between he and Dena is ridiculous, like two small spoiled children vying for each other’s attention. It’s quite annoying. I am no longer a fan of WRMF.

Yes, Jennifer has been a staple for 25 years. I too remember when Kevin passed and she was there 100%. She kept the audience wanting more. The only one I would ever listen to now is Deena and that will be hard to do with wife~beater Danny. Time to move on with Jennifer!! Best of luck to her. She’ll find something better!!

Jennifer seemed the most sensible out of all of them…she was the only one I really liked…was getting tired of them always bashing Obama anyway…I want to hear music and listen to light subjects…Danny always has to throw an Obama comment in there and it’s getting really old. Jennifer had depth…Deena just seems to care about material things only…have been listening much less…only listen now when I happen to catch a good song.

I don’t even know how to describe how I feel about this without echoing what many others have already posted. I’m still at a loss as to what happened to Bill Ryan, he seemed to be a cool character. But I would’nt be surprised to find out they let him go too. “Damn the man”. As for Jennifer, I may be in the minority, but I was really into her voice. I can’t remember how long I’d been tuning in to her just because of that, then stayed for her personality. But it’s been a long time, she’s also totally as hot in person as her voice let on. In radio that usually isn’t the case. I’ve just gotten back to working mornings, and hard as it’s going to be,I’m going to listen to another station. Hopefully this’ll get fixed and we’ll get her & Bill back. I know, I know, I DID say hopefully…….

I have been listening to Jennifer Ross since I moved to Florida in 1984. I even called in and spoke to her once about the Shaken Baby Issue with that Nanny. I remember when Sam was born, when she got divorced when her 2nd daughter was born, when Kevin died. Jennifer was the ‘go to’ person for anything having to do with anything. The rest of the staff, Dena and Danny know nothing!

Danny is an overbearing pampas sphincter. He went through all of that legal hassle last year with his domestic issues and all WRMF did was keep him off the air while he fixed his personal life. When they left Jennifer go they let go the only good thing about the station. I am sure she will do well at whatever path she chooses. Her strict political correctness truly balanced out Danny’s zealous personality. (I.E. when Danny got bent out of shape with his neighbor keeping a kayak on the lake, who really gives a crap D? This is not the borg!)

I wish Jennifer and Bill the best. Bill always made me laugh. I feel terrible for both of them. I will no longer listen to this station anymore. I am from NY and I loved WPLJ and it took me forever to find a good radio station down here and now this. I think that is just awful. People have no souls and no conscious. What goes around comes around. I hope they get bought out. That is wrong!!!!!!!!!
