For former radio personality Jennifer Ross, it’s really the mean season.
She was fired earlier this week from her popular morning show on West Palm Beach’s WRMF-97.9 FM.
And now this: Her husband filed for divorce!
The divorce, according to the paperwork in Martin County, is uncontested and their 15-year marriage deemed “irretrievably broken.”
“They’ve had issues for the past two or three years,” said a friend of Ross’. “They were going to do it before, but they got back together.”
The two – Ross, whose real name is Elena Whitby, and her soon-to-be-ex, airline pilot Harvie Whitby III – told the court they’ve worked out most details.
The former morning jock gets their $400,000-home in the Stuart West neighborhood of Palm City. She’ll be the primary caretaker of her daughter with Whitby, and her child from a previous marriage.
Harvie, who was out of work for several years, won’t ask for alimony.
A week ago today, after the show she co-anchored with sidekicks Danny Czekalinski and Deena Lang, Ross was called in by station managers and told she’d be fired. She had a year and a half left on her contract. Her replacement is Detroit out-of-work jock Chad Mitchell.
Ross didn’t return calls. Whitby couldn’t be reached. Neither is represented by an attorney.
Good things will start happening!I’m sure Jennifer will be hired at a much better job in the near future.Life is not easy sometimes.

Jose, this is completly shocking even for a “gossip” columnist. Petty is not even the word to describe you. Just because you received such “high volume” for your previous story about Jennifer and WRMF, you felt you needed to go digging for more information. Shame on you for all of this. You could have been a respectable person, and left her personal life out of the situation. But then you had to go all “Perez Hilton”/stalker and bring her family-key word-family problems into the limelight. Disrespectful, disgraceful, and disgusting. I love the people who saw the headline, clicked on it, read every word, and then criticized CueBall for writing it. You’ll all say you didn’t read it or you clicked on it because you knew CueBall was doing a hachet piece, but the truth is that if no one read this page the Post wouldn’t keep it. I only know Jennifer’s name but have never listened to her show so I do not have any vested interest in her one way or the other. What I am amazed at is the support she has gotten in these comments. Typically people jump on the chance to bash a public figure when they are down. It says a bunch that people are suporting her and bashing Jose. I wonder if these are the same people that couldn’t get enough of Jose’s column with Tim Mahoney’s divorce or Rush Limbaugh’s drug use or Bruno Moore’s troubles.

I agree w/#36,it seems alot of JR fans here are divorced or just all around angry women who are putting JR up on a pedistal probably without even knowing her except that shes a woman,I think Im appreciating my wife alittle more today and dont miss my old dating days when I met many women like my wife who were attractive from head to toe but also many of them had chips on there shoulders about men and attitudes etc. and I guess thats what made that Bozo Dr.Phil popular.

The soon-to-be-former Mrs. Elena Whitby put herself out in the public eye and made a living by selling her cigarette-soaked raspy voice as the fictional “Jennifer Ross”. Nobody did anything to her that she didn’t do to herself. Winding up in the gossip column was part of the gig.

Howcome nothing is private anymore. I feel terrible for her. I wish her the very best and I hope everything turns out okay for her. I listened for the first time today and I did not hear Jennifer or the other guy I cannot remember his name. They all had good chemistry. I guess I will stick to my XM radio now.
