The plans for former NBA star and basketball Hall of Famer Michael Jordan’s new castle in Jupiter are in.

And the stack of papers recently submitted to town officials by Jordan’s architects, contractor, consultants and lawyer show that residents of the Bears Club, a posh golf community, better get ready for something the size of a Walmart.

The developer, Lavelle Construction Corp., submitted applications for a 37,942-square-foot building, with 26,000 square feet under air conditioning. There’s a cottage and guard gate.

In all, Jordan’s crib will have 11 bedrooms, and a yet-to-be-determined number of bathrooms.

The house, at 172 Bears Club Road, will dwarf most in the north side of Palm Beach County, and all around it at the Jack Nicklaus development.

According to property appraiser records, most homes around Jordan’s are about 10,000 square feet.

Jordan’s slamming down $7,627,669 to build the two-story home, which will feature an elevator, a grand stairway, 10-foot ceilings and a giant fireplace.

So far, the Hanes undies pitchman has paid $152,553 to the town in permits and other fees.

Jordan, 46, bought two adjacent lots at the Jack Nicklaus-founded Bears Club last year for a total $4.8 million. He’s got three acres of wooded land adjacent to a golf course. Golf, and the privacy of a gated community, is what caught Jordan’s attention.

The sheer size of the soon-to-go-up digs, slightly smaller than the beachfronter in Palm Beach that Donald Trump sold for $100 million last year, is already having some local environmentalists chomping at the bit.

“Who needs that kind of a footprint,” said Joanne Davis, a growth management specialist with 1000 Friends of Florida. “It’s insane, a waste. Cities see nothing more than a tax base in these giant homes, but I can’t imagine anyone needing anything like that, except to show off.

“This house is going to require an enormous use of natural resources for no good reason.”

While Air Jordan’s manager in Washington, D.C., hasn’t commented (for reasons of security and privacy, she said), town officials said the part-owner of the NBA’s Charlotte Bobcats is well within code.

“The Bears Club was specifically designed for large lots,”said town zoning principal planner Scott Tatcher. “The Bears Club has done a good job setting aside upland pine areas and wetlands to offset construction. It’s true other homes are in the 10,000-square-feet range, but he is building on two lots.”

In yet another not-so-green move, the six-time NBA champion Chicago Bull has had most tall trees on the property taken out.

Why would Michael Jordan build a 26,000-square-foot home in Jupiter?

If you have it, go for it. He’s not a young gun anymore and probably appreciates a nice home, entertaining guest, and golf all at his reach.

If you regulary drive a car bigger than a 2 seater with only yourself in it, you have no basis to criticize this house.
If you want to criticize something, criticize the fact that the property tax system is not fair because it is based on property value, instead of on the cost of services rendered. And this is why there is no accountability for our tax dollars; the counties have a captive audience. The legal term is: Monopoly.

  6. Comment by Shooting hoops — September 29, 2009 @ 12:46 pm

Not too smart but I bet it will be a palace. First mistake is the house will be the biggest in the neighborhood, 2nd is that it is not in a waterfront area and 3rd is that it backs up to a busy road (Prosperity Farms) soon to be busier when the bridge over the ICW gets built.

  7. Comment by Henry — September 29, 2009 @ 1:10 pm

Its Palm Beach, large homes are the way of life. Go tree hug in Alaska. Let Jordan have his Mansion. He deserves every bit of it. He will be paying for natural resources he uses. Go save the rainforest. Leave MJ alone.

  8. Comment by Procrastinator — September 29, 2009 @ 1:15 pm

At least Jordan didn’t build his mansion on the beach.

Oceanside and waterfront development destroys and disturbs alot more critical habitat than building in-land.

2 funny the tree huggers have a problem with his house but none of the houses next to his that are 10K square feet. personally I think the current average of 2k square feet is outrageous sized most people in europe have homes smaller than 900 square feet. He can do whatever he wants as long as he doesn’t do it on my yard=0

Shooting Hoops - I do agree with you %100 on all 3 pts. I dont understand why he doesnt want to have intercoastal frontage. And I m shocked hes going to be backing up to Palmwood Dr aka Prosperity.

Joanne Davis and her arrogant “1000 friends” group(I couldn’t care less if she had a group called “1 billion friends” - I am not impressed!!!) can take their philosophies and move to Iran or N Korea or EUROPE and it’s socialist populist. What right does she or anyone have to tell someone else what a waste is or what they should think or how they should view life. I think Joanne’s life is a waste to spend her time and energy on restricting liberty instead of lending her time to worthy things like helping to prevent the millions of abortions that take place just in the USA each year. Let me quess, Joanne is not really concerned with that issue because of a women’s “CHOICE” but she is worried about Jordan’s “CHOICE” to have a larger house than she has.
True motives come out in the end. Every time you stand for or against something. True motives come out.

  16. Comment by Steve — September 29, 2009 @ 2:24 pm

Woulnd’t it be more of a waste of natural resources if Centex or one of the other builders squeezed 20 homes on the same lots?

  21. Comment by MsInconspicuous — September 29, 2009 @ 3:24 pm

Why should concern anyone what he chooses to do with his money? It’s his money, righttfully and he could use it the way he chooses. As long and he is not violating any laws I say leave him alone. The same people here that are concerned about his pockets are the same that won’t donate a dollar to help the homeless! Tree huggers and P.E.T.A. put more stock into their causes then they do the human race. Screw them all Michael build your Wal-Mart sized home!

  22. Comment by clr — September 29, 2009 @ 3:46 pm

Joanne is way off base on this one. If he doesn’t build his mansion, then some developer will come along and build multiple homes on the property using up probably even more natural resources. Think about it, how much water and electricity, etc. can the guy use when he more than likely will not live in it more than a couple of months out of the year compared to the people who would occupy multiple homes at least 6 months out of the year. Plus he is going to be dropping lots of $ on the local economy not just in the planning and building stages, but for many months/years afterward. I would much rather see his nice big house there than another useless golf course and golf course community that once it is built by the developers sits vacant like the rest of the new construction that keeps appearing in Palm Beach County.

And Davey, just in case you didn’t know, building an extravagant large home has nothing whatsoever to do with abortion. Take your crusade to an appropriate website/blog.

  23. Comment by Skippy — September 29, 2009 @ 4:13 pm

Jordan bought two lots. If the average home size per lot in The Bear’s Club is 10,000 sqft and he is building a little over 26,000 sqft..what’s the big deal? Having Michael Jordan own in Palm Beach Gardens is a win for this area. Ultimately, he is using the County’s resources just as much as the 2,000 sqft home…he’s just paying for it!

  24. Comment by Rippley — September 29, 2009 @ 4:41 pm

Let him do whatever.. Its not like he cant afford it. If he isnt allowed.. all that means, that he will just find YET ANOTHER place to do what he wants.. and those tax dollars/stimulating funds / HE goes there. 2x lots, OK, big deal. Its not like he is squatting. 30k+ sq feet.. Sounds like a gym , aka a private gym, = SO WHAT. Dollars are dollars, wether a blue collar guy, or a pro ball player.. IF i had the $$$, you best believe i would build something like that.. if the community says no, and fights it, i will take my8+ million someplace else..
Remember there are many other choices

He deserves an estate that large! He is one of the greatest (if not THE greatest) basketball players of all time! He worked hard his entire career as a sucessful athlete and outstanding businessman. What a phenomenal addition to the area. We should be honored that he chose PB county to build an estate, when there are tons of other choices out there. We should all welcome him (and his money) to the community!

I didn’t see anyone make the connection between Jordan’s monstrosity and Tiger’s place on Jupiter Island- both are huge competitors- I don’t think it’s anymore complicated than that- of course there might be an underlying wish to stick it to all the rich old white bozos who have stuck it to blacks their whole lives.

Flaunting his nouveau wealth… tacky, selfish and way, way out of line.

No man needs that much extravagance… think of how much good that money, those resources that effort … could do if he weren’t showing off his wealth.

There’s something really sick about it… and that other people commenting here can’t see what’s wrong with his plans.

You know, I feel the same way about 10,000 sq foot homes. Too large, too much of an impact on the environment. Who needs that much space?

Lets throw out those fussy old constitutionally protected liberties and tell people how big their houses can be! You guys head up to Jordan’s pad, I’ll take care of business down here in West Palm Beach!

Say, by the way, I heard a bunch of guys from Lake Worth saying that all us gringos don’t need such large ranch homes and townhouses, that we could very easily squeeze 6 or 7 people into a one bedroom, like they do. I hear their carbon footprint is quite small.

Maybe we ought to consult with them, ya think?

  34. Comment by Obama says — September 29, 2009 @ 7:25 pm

Anyone want to bet Obama ends up staying there?

House is going to put many back to work but there is no comparison to Tiger’s house. Tiger spent 40 million on the land, Jordan spent 4mm. Tiger is building 10K sq ft for his family of 4 on 12 acres. Mike’s house is going to look like a McMansion squeezed into the Bear’s Club. Bear’s club is full of suckers that overpaid for their homes. Anyone remember Seth Tobias? He was promised sex with a tranny if he did some coke then drowned in the pool at his Bear’s club mansion…..not my idea of a good neighbor!

He has every right to build whatever he desires within the codes….besides, he’s building on 2 lots.
I think he should build in the Gulf with an OIL rig!!!

  42. Comment by Fran — September 29, 2009 @ 10:47 pm

If that’s what he wants, then let him build it. Anyway, who cares??? It’s just that plenty of people today don’t want to hear about the wealthy building these gigantic million dollar homes when they are losing their homes to foreclosures and also losing their jobs. The economy is really bad and people just don’t want to hear about how the wealthy live!!!!

WOW. I came to this site because it popped up in regards to Michael Jordan’s new home. I can see now why our society sucks. You people that are against a large home for a celebrity, act as if this is the first time you have ever seen this. Wake up and smell the masonry. Look at the WHITEHOUSE you idiots. Over the decades it has grown due to Presidents wanting additions to fit their “desires”. You fools can’t seriously be mad at a celebrity for wanting a big home. At least it’s not OUR tax dollars that are being used to build it. You morons!

It is going to be good for the local economy in the short and the long run and I would much rather see his dollars spent here than Los Angeles where most celebs purchase and/or build their homes. I really could care less about the color of his skin, his personal habits, or who his guests could be. He earned his money using his talents and excelled at them and instead of squandering his money like a lot of sports players he invested it wisely and he should be able to spend it where and how he sees fit, not how the public feels he should spend it. Would you people be more welcoming if he were giving it away to charities you support instead of him insuring that him and his family are taken care of in the present and future in the life style that he probably only dreamed of as a little kid and is “expected” of a celebrity? He sets a better example for the less privileged children to aspire to than the rappers and the like do with all their drugs, weapons and violence buying their multimillion dollar homes; or more white collar criminals like Madoff who buy and build with money they stole from their investors. I, for one, welcome the Jordan family, guests, and dollars; at least he earned it legally.

This monstrosity is a direct result of one thing and one thing only. The unlimited protection from creditors afforded Florida residents with respect to their homestead properties. This property is either in a municipality and platted so the improvements are all on 1/2 acre or is outside a municipality and completely covered. Wealthy people build these mansions on advice of their attorneys. And it is good advice. No matter what happens to them it can’t be taken away. They would have to be forced into bankruptcy by 3 separate unpaid creditors to lose this asset. That’s most likely not going to happen. So don’t get mad at the owners. Get mad at your legislators and fellow citizens who approve of this with their vote.

Michael worked very hard during his famous career and endured a lot of personal pain and physical exhaustion playing Basketball for the viewing pleasure of all the worldwide fans like myself, who sat on a couch while Michael was taking in all the pain. It is about time for Michael to enjoy for the rest of his life what it promises to be a beautiful and serene surrounding. Congratulations Michael. Do not think Mr. Jordan needs a reason, however, I will give you one for his sake and those that should have done this for him before the rest of you start weighing in on your thoughts.

It is for business - as part Owner of the Bobcats, needs to play host to future acquisitions and draftees, as Hall of Famer, needs to host meetings and entertain friends worthy of him. There are other reasons that would be made available to him if he needed my services.

Good Speed MJ!!!! Need any oversight consulting let me know - Magdave Associates, Inc. - Consulting Engineers, Planners & Constructors

Sorry, the more one gets to learn about MJ otherwise known to all of us in Chicago as god of basketball and how he has grown with time after Bulls phase of his life, , the more we learn about him the lesser figure he cuts. From his tirade at the acceptance speech into the Hall of Fame to this!! Most of the audience writing comments seems to care less about the environment and shows greater concern over the freedom MJ has in spending his money. But it is a serious blunder to build 37,000 SF house footprint is disastrous, whether he lives in it or not. Maybe he also does good things for the disadvantaged and needy of the world, the true mark of greatness is what you have done with your wealth, how much good have you done other than buy expensive cigars and cars for yourself, not whether one has th eright to do as one pleases with ones wealth buthow relevant have you been thruout your life. Life did not end with the end of his Bulls career when he did bring us a lot of joy.

Micheal Jordan deserves it! he’s a hardworking man, a Hall of Famer, a good motivator, a model to all basketball players, a responsible father/husband and he wants to be on MTV Cribs! lolz!

Like what NIKE quoted.. “JUST DO IT!”

  86. Comment by Emilio — September 30, 2009 @ 8:51 pm

Well, I’m not at all surprised at both the reaction from what we like to call ourselves “society” and “humanity”.
Mr. Jordan was during his professional career one that will never be replaced. Not on his playing skills but together with his skills AND his professional representation of himself. What we need to consider, if Mr. Jordan was playing in today’s game, at the level he was playing back then, he would have been paid so much more than what he earned back then. His financial position would have allowed him to build a home twice the size he is building today. The earning capacity was not there during his hay days. Now, enough of this “money do” stuff. What we as well as Mr. Jordan need to remember and consider is, where is GOD in this? Where is our Lord and Savior? I’m certain Mr. Jordan is a faithful servant and he has demonstrated his willing to “give back”, but I ask each of you who have spent time as I am writing here, where is your faith? We like to comment, judge and even ridicule people like Mr. Jordan and we shouldn’t. Whatever Mr. Jordan wants to do with his money, is up to him. And if he is a believer, he knows too well that it’s between him and our Lord. Who cares about a house being built? Only one who would hope to do the same. So go ahead, while you sit watching the “game” on your TV, you don’t even understand what you’re doing. Here it is– You are watching the player live his dream, then you are upset because you don’t reach your life’s dreams. How could you? You’re too busy watching other live out theirs. Please understand, we, including Mr. Jordan are all created by GOD. sad to say though, we are not all His children. You, reading this right now, have you asked Jesus to come into your life yet? Jesus died on that cross for you and me so we can have a great life, live out our dreams and share the results with others. How Mr. Jordan shares his life’s results are between him and our Lord Jesus. So please, STOP hating those who drive big cars and dress for show– we all have our SINS, some have it all rapped up in vanity, some in more hurtful measures. Noe the less- Jesus LOVES you, me and ALL His children. Please, Please, let your guard down, you are in a private place, reading this stuff- don’t go away saying that I’m crazy- I want you to have what I have found, here, now, even in this terrible economic time of most of our lives, it’s the PEACE of our Lord Jesus. Please don’t try to keep fixing your lives, it’s too hard, leave it to Jesus- place your troubles in faith at the foot of the cross, let Jesus out from within you and you’ll have the Peace that was promised, now, here on this side of heaven. I’ve found it and I can tell all of you- there is no other way to live, you must faithfully ask Jesus, forgive you of your sins, pickup a bible, pray to our Lord, and you will see and feel, the house Mr. Jordan will live in is no grander than you home, so long you have Jesus in your heart. May the peace of our Lord and savior be with all of you, and as for Mr. Jordan, may you consider, in such a fine home, welcome someone into your home, bless them with your kindness but don’t let them leave without giving them a Holy Bible that you bought for those that will not buy one.

PS Mr. Jordan, everything you and everyone else has no matter how much or how little is given by our Lord- so remember,, “God giveth and God taketh”" But YOU CAN ALWAYS HAVE JESUS! He who allows us to be.

    In Him,,

    Emilioi

Why is everyone concerned with how MJ spends his money? Get your own and you won’t have time to worry about how others are spending the money you will never make. They say he could have donated his money to this or that but the reality is no he couldn’t. The world doesn’t work that way. Face it, rich people don’t always donate their money and yes they do buy and create very expensive almost unimaginable things. But most of them are also very educated, some even geniuses and they have all pretty much came to the same conclusion; keep your money to yourself and donate when it looks good. And also you only live once and you can’t take any of this with you so you have to enjoy it now. Go MJ the greatest of all time!

In reading many of these posts, i want to first say “thanks” to everyone that stood up in support of MJ in this matter. Which, really isn’t a matter at all, really! As for the “1000 friends and eveyone else that objects,” I hope that this is really an “environmental issue” and not a “race issue.” Because the question I now ponder is “exactly how many minorities” live (and I am African American)in and around this Bear Club?

And second, how many trees did these 1000 friends cut down in order to build their homes at the time? How long have they lived there? How much “natural resource” have they consumed in the past, present and future–after MJ builds his home? I bet it want come close to what they have already used now and will use in the future.

And speaking of natural resources, “how about nature?” How many plants, animals and insects-have their 10k digs uprooted adn encroahced upon? Far more than Mj’s I’ll bet..

And to this day, how many animals, insects and other plants are still being destroyed to maintain that pristine look?

So in essence, he may have the biggest mansion, but the complainers most definitely have the biggest eco-bill ever!

Just something for you “friends” to think about. oh, and by the way, “are their any minority friends within this circle group?” If not, you may want to have some in case MJ ever discovers this blog and decides to complain to the NAACP, Urban League, or others… You “friends” will find yourselves on the end of a different stick!

And for MJ, if you ever need another humanitarian cause, email me at qualityday.campus@sbcglobal.net-(1000 friends can do the same!). And that’s goes for anyone elese that supports MJ as I do!! Keep on going MJ!!!

Wait let me guess they would say they would buy trees and clean up the waterways right yeah whatever im not buying it. Get over it if anything JORDAN is doing you a favor by giving those nay sayers something to bitch about. Also, I know famous black men should build their dream homes somewhere else like Dubi, South Africa, Jamaica, Switzerland, Denmark, or someplace like those I mention. Pleases look for an alternate place to celebrate your career and the rest of your life. Buy any island somewhere. Don’t put all your eggs here. Go explore. Also, talk to John Travolta, he can really tell you a thing or two…….Please, It’s better to have several homes in the world than one big oversized giant in one place. Just , go look at other places.

I find that our nation has gone to lets see who’s personal mess can we get in to. As a collective people we need to start saying things such as congradulations on you new home. It is not for one or the other to judge someone about what or how they spend money they have earned. We pay more attention to what our fellow man is doing with thier personal stuff, than we are with the problems that face us as well as our future children. Now lets spend some time on that. I know many families with children who need food. Can we publish that from town to town, and make it a point not to let any child go to bed hungy here in the greatest country of all America. Let me know that. I willing to help. Are you?

I dont know the man but power to him - petty jealousies and harpiness and being dictated to is not pretty. If he pays the price for living where he does then so be it. If the planning teams dont want him then they will say something.

It’s not what MJ can afford to do, it’s what he should do. MJ’s example is this; when it comes to what HE wants, he is showing the world that he does not understand that only by fate has he received more financial blessings. He should acknowledge this by living more humbly. All who agree with his lifestyle; you should refocus on looking outwardly, instead of your selfish inward-looking example. I ask you a question, what mode of transportation would Jesus use, a bicycle, a motorcycle, or a car? Let’s say in His time that a donkey was a bicycle, a horse was a motorcycle, and a chariot was a car… What do you drive, and how big is your home? Yes, you are selfish. I am selfish too, but I am working on it, and I will not live in the largest home I can afford, and now have made a choice to live more simply and to make a better environmental impact. Think global, your grandchildrens lives WILL be impacted.

Jordan was arrogant as a player and he is arrogant in his presumption that wealth makes right. The same capitalist greed rewarding his ability to shoot a leather ball now provides him with excessive creature comforts. All the little people can support this waste of resources on ego and selfishness because it is the closest they’ll get to the same level of self-indulgence. Go ahead and project some fantasy that they would do the same since they’ll never get the chance. Does he DESERVE to do what he wants with his money? No, no one earns the right to be selfish so many resources. Does he GET to do what he wants with his money? Of course, that’s the wasteful American way. There is no community sense of values motivating his decisions and that’s what the 1000 Friends of Florida is all about. Not surprising that this misunderstood by the delusional comments here on this list. But they’re all trying to sell their worthless Florida real estate right now anyway so who cares about one more excessive structure being built?

I never thought that I would comment on an article like this. But here goes. First of all MJ worked his way up the in his field. Understand that he work and made sure he was the best. THE KEY WORD HERE IS WORKED PEOPLE. He did not scam people HE WORKED. I see more negative comments on what MJ worked for than I see concerning Madoff, Enron, and that other guy in Houston. All these guys scamed people for what they wanted and MJ worked for his. So if he choose to enjoy the fruit of his hard work I say GOD BLESS YOU YOUNG MAN. And I am proud of you and your new home the same way I am proud of my little house that I am trying to put back together since Hurrican Ike here on the island of Galveston. So I expected you to enjoy your home the way I plan to enjoy mine even thou it only 1,300 square feet. Because when I walk in after a long day of work, I feel that my home is my mansion also. So young man enjoy what GOD gave you the ablility to work for. GOD BLESS YOU BABY.

The entire golf course MJ plays on is green. Money is green, land is green trees are annoying. So everyone should sit back and think about their dreams for themselves. Because as far as I am concerned MJ is living it. He is not buying drugs or doing things wrong that most famous people get into. He is a good dad athlete and advertiser. As long as Michael Jordan paid all of his building permit fees and whatever other costs are required, he can build a dam castle. He’s very wealthy and it’s his money. For those who can’t afford to build what he wants to build boo hoo. You just can’t afford it. It doesnt mean he doing it to show off. I can’t stand to see or hear haters accuse others for just living their own dreams in their reality. If it’s Michael’s dream to have a mansion that big and he can afford it than he should go for it. Good for him!!! This is not the first time someone is rich builds a large mansion. Look at Paris Hilton. She built a dog house that is large enogh for a family to live in. She can afford to build it so she did. Then she carries her dog around in her purse. It’s their money people. I bet you if they dropped 7 million dollars out of a plane for everyone to benefit from no one would complain then because they got something out of it. Well guess what? Go make your own 7 million dollars. Build your own mansion and stop complaining about how Michael Jordan spends his 7 million dollars to buy his home.

all the movies stars and sports stars home are way too big any home more than 4000 sq ft. is totally needless and useless yhere not coxy and you need a golf cart to go bgrom one end to the other really stupid they should use some of that money for charity instead of showing off

  143. Comment by Maryanne — October 1, 2009 @ 3:02 pm

MJ deserves eveything he has. He made his living legally and gave to charities a lot. He is a great example for the youth of this country and i for one hope he enjoys his new home immensely. we go around once - i do not blame him one bit for enjoying the fruits of his labors. God Bless you and your new home Michael.

Actually, given the area it seems a little cheap on a s.f. basis. $206/s.f. with all the extra stuff seems pretty low.

I’M SURE MICHAEL JORDAN AND HIS WIFE HAVE DONATED MONEY TO CHARITIES AND HELPED BUILD HOMES IN IMPOVERISHED COUNTRIES AS WELL. WHY DON’T WE HEAR ABOUT THOSE GIFTS THAT HE HAS GIVEN TO THE WORLD. IF MICHAEL, OR THE DONALD, OR OPRAH ARE ALLOWED TO BUILD A HOUSE,A CASTLE OR AN OCEANLINER WITHIN COUNTY OR CITY GUIDELINES, I SAY WHY NOT?

As long as he is using natural resources, recycled, and evironmentally sound products I’m ok with it.
If he proves to be like most narcissistic celeb’s (who cares if he puts a ball in a basket…..or clean crap on a sidewalk)…..whatever made you that much money….you better do right by it.
So build your ostentatious home, but do it right.

Well we all know that M.J. can play basketball ,sell Hanes products, and golf and now he’s a Hall of Famer
( and well deserved ) BUT he will have to take a step back when Mr. David Robinson ( The Adrimal ) also a Hall of Famer comes into the room as he has spent much more of his money on his kind of building A Christian SCHOOL with **** star rating. He didn’t go to a resort town and goof off NO he spent his money where he earned it San Antonio, TX.. Thats why David is a class act and MJ is all pomp and goo.

What else is he going to do with it save it and die with it or give it to his kids to go blow on something stupid. I think he should be able to do what ever he wants I think the problem is he has more money than all the other rich people in that area and they dont like it so I say tough go get another job…..I think he should build it bigger

He must deserve it,after all he was able to put a round ball in a round hole. It’s not like he did something easy that would actually benefit mankind like finding a cure for cancer or a new source of renewable energy.
This society needs to re-examine it’s priorities. A monkey can put a ball in a hole and we pay them in bannanas and they live in a tree. So should he.

Lots of positive things happen in building a house of that size. #1…PUTS PEOPLE TO WORK #2 HELPS ECONOMY #3 TAXES help county school/police/infrastructure #4 Makes Mikey Happy!!! His money folks…as of yet, this is NOT a socialist country! NOBODY has the right to decide what anyone “needs”. One note though…do the math. 38,000 ft x (at least) $250 -$300/foot. Homes of that magnitude will usually command $400-$500/foot. He will pay a LOT more than is thought…more like $15M up.

Now because he wants to spend some of his americian cash in america unlike some of these rich “A” holes that purchase property overseas after making it in the US. Do what you do Mike straight slam dunk them get the economy back up. if you need a car washer shout me out i’ll be there and i’ll keep them all clean and full of fuel. This story is bogus. There is NOOOO way you could build a house that is over 37,000 square feet for 7.5 million dollars. It would be double that at a minimum. The person who wrote this story needs to wake up. A 10,000 square foot home would cost at least that much to build.

GO Michael!! I’m not a basketball fan, but congratulate you on this opportunity, the benefit that you will provide to economy, and your right to do anything you please with your money.

Face it folks, it is the American Way: Come here with nothing, find your niche, work hard, and hopefully you and likely your children will benefit. Wouldn’t Michael’s ancestors be proud?

It is because of ALL of the screw-ups in the White House (BOTH parties), the Weasels in Congress (BOTH parties), and the rewarding of BAD BEHAVIOR that we find ourselves in the mess that we are in now.

Let the man do what he wants. He has worked hard his whole life, beginning with his MARRIED parents who provided a great example for him. It is his right. Maybe you or your children will be able to do the same thing.

There are people that can’t come up with $700 must less $7 million. Most celebrities are just greedy and we enable them to be that way. They should all try living like a middle class citizen.
