Newsmax boss Chris Ruddy feeds U2’s Bono a line

There may be a new career waiting for West Palm Beach Internet mogul Chris Ruddy: Feeding funny speech lines to celebs.
U2 frontman Bono actually stole one of Ruddy’s clever quips the other day but, says Ruddy, it was an honor.
Ruddy, who started the popular Conservative news Web site newsmax.com, and Bono were both at the Appeal of Conscience Foundation gala last week at the Waldorf Astoria in New York.
The foundation was started by Rabbi Arthur Schneier to foster closer ties between religions, and it holds its popular black tie every year when the United Nations Assembly is in session.

So, Ruddy and Bono bumped into one another on their way to their respective tables.
“We were standing around and he asked me what I do,” Ruddy said. “Rabbi Schneier was next to us, so I told Bono: ‘I’m just a good Catholic who has a rabbi!’ ”
Bono must’ve found it funny. Because when he got on stage for his speech, he kicked if off before a packed ballroom with: “I’m Bono, and I’m just a good Irish boy who has a rabbi!”
Ruddy, meanwhile, is showing the example when it comes to bi-partisanship. He’s nurtured a friendship with former Prez Bill Clinton over the past couple years, and scored a far-reaching, 20-minute interview with the former horned-dog-in-chief.
In the interview, Clinton actually gave Ruddy pointers on how Republicans should treat Prez Barack Obama if the GOP ever wanted to be relevant again.
Did Clinton also give the IOC tips on how they should treat Obama if they ever want the Olympics to be relevant again?

If Bill Clinton is giving tips, maybe he should give Obama a better tip on how to bomb Bin Ladin.
At least we see (on the surface) they are getting along, instead of calling each other names like the liberals do when someone doesn’t agree with them.
My mother’s niece is Jewish by conversion (we’ve often had Jews in the family). Our relative the bishop in ireland advised her to convert since she wanted religion in the home for the kids, was not a very good Catholic, and was marrying an atheist Jew. The advice he gave: “Tell him you’ll become Jewish if he attends synagogue with you. Otherwise no deal.” When I was a kid the Monsignor often quoted his friend the Rabbi in sermons.
I do not have much respect for Bono. He used all of the help that President Bush gave to Africa as publicity for himself but when President Bush got out of office he made fun of him. The man thinks the sun rises with him.
Conservatives will be better off if Sen. McCane doesn’t run for President again.

For John was a modeller of men and trends as well. Unlike Bush who had a term of office, Bono his great friend (fiend) and “person who understnads him’, has a lifetime term already, Bono of course abandoned W. in his hour of need because the Bono machine had no further need of the W company. This is pure politics and as manipulative as has been alluded to previously. It’s all true kids, Bono is a shill! A shill for the hundred foot wave that rolls and crashes onto the shores of Wall St, and Marleybone Lane and la Rue de Prospere.Do not confuse the poet with the poem. Do not allow your senses to condone, the smokescreen of deception some have learned, in the pursuit of recognition they’ve not earned.

Paul Hewson’s work is almighty incredible. I am with a group who’s goal is to end world hunger. We’ll do it too. But that Bono is incredible. He doesn’t have yo do a lick of that saving the world.

I supported Obama because he promised change. Turned out the change was fro paulson to Reitner and from $Billions to $Trillions for the banks. Supported by both Repugs and Dems. So before you go praising the buffoon W who dragged us into Iraq and mired us down in Afghanistan, or condemning the Dems whose giving away of $Trillions to the banks has been supported if not initiated by the Repugs, remember this - when you waste time sniping at members of the other party or its leaders you are being exactly the stupid sheep that Wall Street and our government want.
