I actually got to meet Rob when I was younger. He was a very nice and considerate person. He took us on a tour of the Channel 5 station and allowed us to behind the set of a weekend evening newscast. He also took us to meet the anchors that were there and the cameramen and women.

May whatever is wrong with him be quickly taken care of.

I have watched WPTV news and weather religously for the past 35 years and have seen many changes in their Weather reporters. There have been two standouts for me one was Dean Tendridth (sp) please forgive my spelling of his last name. The other was Rob Lopicola. I had the priveledge of meeting Mr. Lopicola at a fundraiser at Drehr Park Zoo back when he was still employed by WPTV and he was a most personable young man with a great smile a warm handshake and a very pleasant personality. When he decided to leave the station I was very dissapointed and even called the station to find out where he had gone. Actually I was told that he had decided that he wanted to pursue other possibilities. If Mr. Lopicola is Gay or Straight makes no difference to me, he was a fine young man who earned my respect, and I wish him well. Most of us at some time or another have done things in our lives (either personal or professional) that we may not be proud of. So lets all join together and wish him the very best. Those of you who have been hurt by Rob, I’m sorry for your pain and hurt, but is hurting him going to help you recover? I wish people would stop judging a person for their race, religion, age or sexual preference and try to remember that we are all in this together one human being to another.

Someone commented on how many of these posts are likely to be from bitter ex’s and those burned by Rob. Well, I know him from NY and I am def. a member of the Robert Lopicola heartbreak club. That being said, I still think people should leave him alone. I know part of his story (but I’m sure not nearly enough of it) and I can say tearing him apart will not make it better. If I can make peace with him, you should be able to as well. Oh, also, don’t give your credit card number to people over the phone. If you’re that gullible, please call me at 516-766….. lol God Bless!

God people why do you waste your time doing shit like this… No one is perfect who ever here is free of sin cast the first stone… Just because he was successful at his weatherman career and for some reason had to stop because of his own PERSONAL reason people should mind there own business and let the guy live his life… Now this whole scam business thing going on Rob isn’t the owner of this company so why are people making it out to be like it is his fault… have you people ever thought that maybe he didnt have a clue and had not paid attention to the signs i mean if you landed a job that paid a good amount to help you get back on your feet from a career that ended that you loved would you pass that up? I dont think so… I wish you the best of luck Rob Lopicola and you have been successful at what you have done its just because of selected few people that just want to make a big deal out of nothing for a story that they make you out to be someone you are not. I know you will live pass this and move on to become something big. With much respect Rob Lopicola to me and my family you are more then just the former weatherman and we look up to you for going threw what people have put you threw I hope you read this…

I have a friend who was very close to Rob. Rob was into child porn and young boys. He got busted by channel 5 for using the computer at work to view inappropriate pics of young boys and chat. Anybody who justifies this by defending him is an idiot. “He’s such a nice guy”! Of course he is. Would you let this “nice guy” babysit your child? Didn’t think so.

I remember him years ago from WRNN in Westchester County and he was fun to watch. He always seemed to really enjoy what he was doing. It’s sad to see this mess after those early days in broadcasting. If’s he is in NA, good for him. That means he’s at least trying to work out some of his problems.
