Surfer dude Miles McKnought-Smith is suing over a broken foot.

Boca tennis legend Chris Evert’s crumbling marriage to golf giant Greg Norman isn’t the only thing that’s occupying her time these days.

Evert is being sued in a Palm Beach County civil court by a friend of her children injured in an outing near Evert’s Boca Raton home.

According to Miami lawyer John Agnetti, several students from the chi-chi St. Andrews School in Boca, including two of Evert’s boys, were riding a golf cart and a dirt bike when a crash occurred.

Agnetti’s client, Pompano youth Miles McKnought-Smith, sustained a broken foot and sued.

“It seems that Ms. Evert’s home became a hangout with school children,” Agnetti said. “She has a lot of toys, and there wasn’t much adult supervision.”

Agnetti said he believes Evert wasn’t at home when the crash occurred.

Well-known area businessman Al Malnik, who made news in the aftermath of singer Michael Jackson’s death, is also named in the lawsuit. He is the godfather of Jackson’s youngest son, Blanket, and owns a property near Evert’s 5-acre, $2 million homestead in Horseshoe Acres, Boca Raton.

“It’s the craziest thing,” Malnik said. “I have a fence all around my property and nobody had permission to be there.”

Yet, said Malnik, his land is where the dirt-biking, 19-year-old McKnought-Smith somehow had an extra-close encounter with a golf cart allegedly operated by a minor, Ryan Logan, according to the paperwork.

Evert’s boys were also present, and both vehicles are owned by the multi-Grand Slam champion.

“It’s a little awkward for my client since all the kids are friends from school,” Agnetti said.

Before the incident, Agnetti said, McKnought-Smith was a rising star on the pro surfing circuit under a sponsorship contract and routinely ranked nationally in the top five. He’s now fallen off the rankings.

The defendants’ attorney, West Palm Beach’s David Bradley, said Evert asked him not to comment.

How does a case like this even get filed?

Because the Attorneys and Judges and the law make it more expensive to defend your innocence than to settle.

Maybe this is a case for Lytal Reiter, etc? Whio knows..

Are not they the one’s that filed a suit against a strip club claiming that a stripper hit him in the face whild dancing on the bar?

This junk makes joke of the law.

    Quality stuff…

And you wonder why lawyers are held in such contempt? A dribbly bowel movement and a lawyer…both thought of the same.

It only costs 250 dollare to sue anyone for anything…it can cost you hundreds of thousands in legal fees just to go to trial and prove your innocence.

How do educated people (Lawyers, Judges, Politicians) expect people not to get completely fed up with this lame stuff?

There are some great lawyers out there and judges and politicians, but with so many running around looking for who can i sue? Its become a huge drain on society…we just cannot support so much excessive litigation, filed by lawyers, without a huge drain in our national productivity….we are seeing it now.

    Legal System CORRUPTION CHECKLIST?

    1. Take a bribe

    2. Lie to you and tell you that your case is now mysteriously shaky

    3. Encourage you to take paltry settlements that any decent person would call unfair in light of the damage

    4. Lose key evidence

    5. Deliberately fail to file important documents, adversely affecting your legal rights

    6. Disclose too much of your case and legal strategy to the opponent

    7. Show up late for important hearings and court dates

    8. Don’t show up at all for important hearings and court dates

    9. Consistently fail to return your calls and correspondences

    10. Refuse to introduce available evidence and witnesses that would bolster your case.

I agree w/ Ted (comment number one) - who cares? The kid looks like an unfortunate young man w/ a clear identity crisis. Parents obviously care about making a quick buck off Chris (or anyone) than about living decently and honorably.
My sympathies go to the cross dressing kid.
