Lambiet’s Lunch: Kennedy clan’s Anthony Shriver eases woman beater Chris Brown back in society

Chris Brown can be saved.

So says SoFla’s member of the Kennedy clan, Anthony Shriver.

Shriver, whose Best Buddies International raises hundreds of thousands in Palm Beach each spring, is having the man convicted of beating pop star Rhianna headline the non-profit’s Miami gala Nov. 20.

R&B singer Brown, who pleaded guilty to assault and is serving five years probation, is touring intimate clubs nationwide. He’s scheduled to play Shriver’s private shindig at the Mondrian Hotel on his way to a Richmond, Va., concert.

Shriver, the son of Sargent and Eunice Shriver and a nephew of former Pres. John F. Kennedy, founded Best Buddies 20 years ago as a college student. The group matches children with disabilities with mentors.

Is a Best Buddies gala really a good venue for Brown?

Absolutely, says Shriver. Especially since Brown joined Shriver’s cause and is donating some of the proceeds of his tour to Best Buddies.

““I support Chris Brown’s efforts to show the world why he deserves a second chance, given that the commitment he has made to Best Buddies – not only to perform at our Miami Gala, but also to join the Best Buddies family as a volunteer – is a huge step in the right direction,” Shriver told Page2Live in a e-mail.

“I also appreciate Chris’ generous offer to donate a portion of the proceeds from his tour to Best Buddies. I believe Chris’ fans will be equally inspired to support Best Buddies’ mission to provide opportunities for one-to-one friendships, integrated employment and leadership development for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities once they see his enthusiasm and commitment to the cause – and just how much his efforts mean to our participants.”

It’s unclear whether Brown actually will mentor handicapped youths.

Is Anthony Shriver doing the right thing?

Don’t you think spell check would be nice? SERGEANT - look it up! Oh wait, that might be too much work. Never mind go ahead and continue spelling like you’ve graduated from our county’s great school system.

Ann.. you are an idiot… Sargent is the man’s name, not his ranking! He actually ran for President in 1976 and founded the Peace Corps… his wife Eunice, who recently passed, started the Special Olympics.

The spelling of Sargent is correct (non military), the word sergeant is a rank in the military. Sargent is a name.

Forget Chris….he needs to work on forgiving Ted for killing Ms. Kopechne in such a cruel, heinous manner. After all Ted Kennedy left the young woman clawing at the floor and windows of a submerged car upside down. What a way to go…then bought off the cops and courts. No matter what anyone says about these stinkin Kennedys they were rum smugglers and tax evadin criminals all….and dont forget that Jack is the one that got us started in Nam. Eff em all. Most will burn in hell for eternity.

#11….Beautiful??? What an odd name for such a toilet mouth, YIKES. Anyway I think the heat has been on Chris long enough, no one is saying anything about Rihanna allowing this behavior, this wasnt the first time he laid hands on her. If she like a slap to the head every now and then LEAVE HIM BE. She’s the one with the problem, more so than Chris. Some women call it fourplay, sick but true.
