Double bogey for Jupiter Island golfer Greg Norman!

Not only is he dealing with his separation from new wife Chris Evert, the Boca Raton-based former tennis star, but now he’s got a ticked off ex-wife to deal with.

Palm Beacher Laura Andrassy says the Great White Shark stiffed her in his yearly payment of their divorce settlement.

She contends in new paperwork filed in the Martin County courthouse in Stuart that his $2 million wire transfer to her June 15 was about $72,000 short. She asked a judge to force Norman to pay up, or order arbitration.

According to their contract, the ex-missus, a former flight attendant, will be $103 million richer by 2023 as a result of the agreement they signed when they were divorced two years ago.

So, what’s $72,000?

“It’s a substantial sum of money,” said Andrassy’s lawyer in West Palm Beach, Jack Scarola. “I have no desire to annoy Mr. Norman. But he has an obligation to meet his contractual commitments. If someone owes $72,000, just pay up.”

Norman’s divorce attorney, Jeff Fisher, declined comment. But in his response filed in court, Fisher wrote that Norman and his ex promised they’d seek arbitration for disputes instead of the court system.

Andrassy’s recent motion to enforce is nothing more than a “method to feed information (usually of a disparaging nature) about the former husband to the media.”

The $72,000 alleged shortfall, according to court papers, comes from the calculation of Andrassy’s share in Norman’s Colorado ranch, Seven Lakes Lodge. She’s supposed to get close to $780,000 a year for the ranch, but got much less.

Incidentally, Norman recently put the property on the market for $55 million.

The motion reopens the saga of golfer/vintner’s divorce, which was filed in June 2006 after Andrassy accused him of cheating on her with tennis champ Evert. Although Norman and Andrassy were officially divorced when he married Evert in June 2008, they’ve been ironing some of their differences since.

Laura Andrassy's attempt to collect $72,000 in her $103 million-divorce from Greg Norman is:

Dont know if I would buy into a 15 yrs payout with a has been golfer intent on not paying. Bet she never gets near the 102 mil.

I would’ve lump summed the payment.

$72,000 would go a long way to fix her ragged out face and bad attitude. She needs plastic surgery and couch time with a good shrink.

Should have never got married. She didn’t earn all the money, he did in his golf career. Greedy money hungry ex wife, let her get a job and earn her own money. She’s got enough money from him. “Greg, you still owe me $5.99 pay up. Please.

She really does look “worn hard and hung up wet”. I guess that $72,000 could go to a face lift or something.

Hey, all you guys bashing the ex should take another look at Greg…he’s looking a bit worn out himself.

She needs to be content and stop being greedy. She has enough money. She is just being greedy and vengeful. He earned the money - she didn’t; so she should just be thankful for the money that she’s gotten so far and just sit her greedy behind down and enjoy what she already has. She probably wants him back and can’t get him, so she wants to do everything she can to make him miserable. Get a life!!!!

No matter what everyones personal opinion is they have proper paperwork from the courts stating the amount of money she is owed. Im pretty certain if you were waiting around for your money from someone you’d feel shorted as well…. Also just a bit of knowledge if you check the history of most Greg’s other business ventures you will see that is where a lot of his money comes from (not golfing) and his ex wife had a great hand in starting each and every one. Hope everyone has a great day.

Well, this just proves the point….get a lump sum…don’t string it out over the years…because a Bozo like Norman, will screw you out of the money.

Got that everyone….lump sum, no yearly payments or your settlement will be lessened.

It’s these Damn Attorney’s fault! It get’s absolutely rediculous after a while! Why don’t they teach lawyers to be reasonable. Personally I’d fire yours Gregg and take a chance with a Judge.

It wasn’t just a simple matter of stiffing her $72k it’s on how they are valuating a property.

This should be mediated not dragged through the courts.

I think Laura looks fine — maybe a little stressed — but fine. Greg Norman’s face is what scared me. Yikes he looks ancient and leathery.

  20. Comment by Carol — November 6, 2009 @ 6:03 pm

Well Greg looks more dried up than Chris and Laura. He should have a few more winkles when Chris and his divore is final. Did he get a pre-nup? His first wife Laura hd 2 kids with him and put up with him for years and had alot to do with his success…she desevres every penny she gets!

  21. Comment by fred — November 6, 2009 @ 6:14 pm

Because of golddigger like her is why we need pre-nups!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

He’s getting his now for being a gumball on tour jumping on his fellow players with cheating accusations and critisms and what he did to David Graham at the Presidents Cup in ‘94. He could not have picked a bigger d’dichch than Cris E., the spoiled princess whose nose has been airborn since the opening of the Elbow Room in Ft. Liquardale. I feel for the first wife who was so shafted by these two but thanks to Nick Price and Ben Crenshaw for going to be with her the day Noman and Srissy married. Noman could take some lessons from those guys. Thanks.

Greg Norman new nickname is snake instead of shark. I think his former wife would agree. Anyway, enforcement in family law is commonly done when former husbands do not want to pay what they owe. Why should the former wife mediate/arbitrate to enforce her legal contract anyway, because now he will now owe her the money plus interest. And he will have to pay her legal fees. After this, he probably will not violate the agreement again, having been embarrassed by violating it in the first place and having the public find out about it.

Norman being cheap? Say, I seem to remember back when Domino’s use to deliver out to Jupiter Island to the Normans, which outside our delivery area, driving over the A1A bridge seeing a banner congratulating Greg on a win. I get to the door after that long drive, to receive $0.50 tip from Laura. To be fair, they typically tipped us $1 and change. Thankfully the other families in Jupiter Island, like the Spain’s, took care of us.

Amazing how things do not change even with untold millions later.
