Why should they not be arrested and prosecuted to the letter of the law just because they are in a uniform….is the uniform a reason to let them break the law and get away with it?

“It is unlawful to knowingly discharge a firearm in any public place, or on the right of way of any paved public road, highway or street or over any road, highway, street or occupied building, except in defense of life or property, in performance of official duties or where expressly approved for hunting.”

Of course, unless, its a cop in Palm Beach County shooting in the occupied building. Then you get to make up a story and get off scott free…..like all the other cops let each other pass for….you get to say, you did not know, etc……watch the average person try that……….why was this guy even attempting to shoot in his office with 2 other people in the office with him? It does not smell right. It sounds like a lie. Cops go to the range for that stuff or should….they can go to gun ranges all over the county. Shooting in their office with others in the office?

Its getting real old.

The people are sick of it.

Dry firing in an occupied building is not dangerous. Everyday, police training academies and police training do the dry firing drill in a classroom or gym. However, every gun is checked and re-checked to make sure they are empty. Also, leo’s clean guns in buildings and classrooms all the time. The issue is not dry firing or cleaning a gun in a building or classroom, it is paying attention 100% to what you are doing, and obviously, the Captain did not do that.

As to a law violation, not realistic, if he pointed the gun at someone and thought the gun was empty and just was playing around and the person was shot or came close, yes, however, this is not the case here.

Mo betta, lets worry more about the thugs who killed the Lake Worth Clerk for no reason and the sex predators out there attacking children. Then if we clean all that up, we can debate the Captain not using proper gun safety.
