Reference is made to your comment on December 7, 2009. I have every confidence that Mrs Lipton Farris & everyone in her family would read everything about her. Including this:

In 2004, she was named a Dame of Grace of the Most Venerable Order of the Hospital of St John of Jerusalem, which entitles her to place the letters, D. St. J, after her name.

Yet she now heads her personal notepaper, Dame Celia Lipton Farris, and is announced by that style on all social occasions. But then, in the neverland kingdom of Florida’s Palm Beach, such distinctions are apt to become blurred.

To reiterate my previous point, Mrs Lipton Farris deserves to be recognized for her thoughtless generosity. My post is not BS (to quote you) and even a cursory search on the Internet will reveal everyone who has an OBE. Mrs Lipton Farris is not Dame Celia.

Perhaps you, Dear Family Member, should go check your facts.

To the comment above about Mrs Farris, She did receive the honor on an OBE from the queen so get your facts straight. Jealous much? Guess you didnt think her or anyone in her Family would read this? I’m family and your post is BS….

Mrs Lipton Farris has never received the honour of an OBE from The Queen. She is not entitled to call herself Dame Celia and diminishes the honour for others by doing so. She deserves to be recognized for her philanthropic activities but she does not deserve to use a title.
