Dan Doorakian, an up-and-comer at the white-gloves business law firm of Moyle Flanigan in West Palm Beach, ran into a couple roadblocks on his way to the top.
According to county records, the man was arrested not once, but twice, on suspicion of DUI during a seven-month span this year.
In May, the 35-year-old was nabbed at the wheel of his Lexus at 1:45 a.m. A sheriff’s deputy allegedly saw him weave across several lanes of traffic and nearly hit another car at the corner of Military Trail and Southern Boulevard in West Palm Beach.
Then last month, PBSO got him again. This time, about 2:42 a.m. and 5 miles north, he reportedly soiled himself and vomited while driving. He appeared dazed after being pulled over.
The deputy who arrested him wrote in his report that Doorakian attempted to camouflage his liquor breath. A partially empty bottle of mouthwash was found in the Lexus. Doorakian told the deputy he was on his way home from the law firm. He was described as calm and argumentative.
Doorakian, who once represented Wellington show-jumping boss Mark Bellissimo in his fight against the village to keep the now-defunct Tavern on the Green open, refused the breathalyzer in both incidents. Neither he nor his lawyers commented.
For some reason, Doorakian wore the same T-shirt in both his mug shots. Go figure!
Soiled and vomited himself while driving at 2:30pm in the afternoon? Hmmm……wonder if that was “billable” hour time.
This is troubling.
But he is a respected and proud member of the “Florida Bar”.
He’s a lawyer. He will get off by some other Judge/Lawyer.

Jose I actually think you perform a valuable, if lurid, public service- exposing the hypocrisy which infests Florida.
BTW you need to proofread better . Old NY law firms had “white shoe” members; “white gloves” is a malapropism- but entertaining. Lawyers today wear white gloves when they are commiting crimes and dont want to leave fingerprints- a common occurence.

I usually hate to see this type of thing happen to anyone, but Doorakian is a scumbag liar and deserves it.
Many in the law firm of Moyle-Flanigan derived their ethics from Jon Moyle, who had none. They’ve had a reputation for years of not being able to recognize a conflict of interest. John Flanigan, however, is reputable.
I got a big chuckle out of this article. I have always said “what goes around comes around”..Well, Danny boy, it is your turn.. You didn’t even know what a Guardian Advocate was when you were assigned to my daughter…You held up for a year what should have been an easy court process. YOU put so much extra stress both on my daughter & myself..I do hope you find help, tho……….

This is hysterical. Dan has just soooooo many enemies that are probably laughing their a@%es off right now. What goes around comes around is right. All those people that lost their jobs because of his greed can now sit back and laugh at the joke he has become. It is a shame that Jon Moyle, Sr. and John Flanigan have to be humiliated by this disgusting jackass that ruined their fim.
The fact that Doorakian is a lawyer is NOT going to get him off. If he was driving after refusing to take the breathalyzer, I suspect it is because case #1 has not gone to trial, or perhaps he was driving under a work permit. Now that he has a second DUI charge and a second refusal to take the breatalyzer, he will most certainly lose his license for an extended period of time. All lawyers are not “scumbags.” There are good and bad in lawyers just like society. It does sound to me that Mr. Doorakian has an alcohol addiction and needs help. Perhaps the court will force him into rehabilitation. I do find the comment about him not knowing what a guardian advocate’s responsibilities are a bit disturbing. I do hope the court suspends Mr. Doorakian’s license and requires him into treatment. He could have killed himself or, worse yet, an innocent bystander. It must be quite embarrassing to have your troubles spilled in the public. And, I do agree with the statement above, which is let he who is without sin cast the first stone. I don’t kinow of a single person that has not sinned. We all have. The court will address the issue, regardless of Mr. Doorakian’s profession and in fact, may be harder on him because of his profession. I would say to Mr. Doorakian, GET SOME HELP BEFORE YOU KILL YOURSELF OR SOMEONE ELSE; YOU NEED IT. The arrogance of not seeing the light after the first DUI is a mystery to me.
As someone who personally knows Dan, I will say he IS a scumbag. Unfortunately the attorneys of Moyle Flanigan, specifically Marty Katz protect him. he deserves everything he gets.
Oh and I agree with the “white gloves” comment. He will do whatever it takes to protect himself, even at the expense of others.

I supported the position in Wellington for which Doorakian was the proponent. However, I’d watch the council and committee meetings on the local gov’t channel and cringe at some of the things Doorakian would say. I’ve a thorough background in Florida local and state government, and Doorakian would distort, fabricate and flat-out lie.
I have a hard time feeling sympathy.

Yes, the grass is greener on the other side. As a former employee of MFK, I am embarrassed to say that I worked there as long is I did. It seemed to be a pleasant place to work until the Golden Boy Dan Doorakian came there and influenced Marty Katz who treated him like a son and saw no wrong. How do you feel about your Golden Boy now? still impressed? Karma is really a b*tch isn’t it? I left because I was told by the golden boy himself that the “firm” should be my #1 priority, not my family. I hope you get what you deserve in life and if you keep going the way you are, it will be a sad lonely life.

It’s amazing the number of people, including many lawyers, who Doorakian managed to P.O. during his brief career. Many people are talking about him and not one I’ve spoken with feels sorry for the guy including those who have worked with him, clients, etc..
If he’s smart and has any friends, he’ll use this as an opportunity to assess his character, alcoholism, personal and professional relationships, etc..

We have all probably gotten behind the wheel of a car after we’ve done a little drinking. We are just fortunate that we weren’t caught. As for this guy, I know him. He has a good heart, but clearly has some issues that need to be dealt with. Hopefully, he will seek help before his young life is ruined. I was under the impression he was involved in a long-term relationship with a wonderful, very smart, woman, whom I’ve met before. Ok so it is established that A Friend is most likely Dan or Katz or maybe even his girlfriend if he has one. So yes people make mistakes but most people don’t repeat mistakes that will kill OTHER INNOCENT PEOPLE. I know nothing of his personal life, but professionally, I saw him in action and his use of misrepresentations and distortions were appalling. Inasmuch as another attorney from MFK participated, it appears this type of behavior has become systemic to the firm. Too bad, MFK used to ring of prestige and professionalism. No longer. They’re just another whodoisue firm.

In your first post, you claim to “know” that Doorakian does not like whores. Then in a later post you claim you’ve never met him. If you’ve never met him, how do you know he doesn’t like whores?

For the record, Peter Breton went out on his own with the other ethical attorneys that left MFK. The ones left are the ones that won’t stand up to his unethical behavior, but instead choose to hide it at the expense of MFK’s once presitgious reputation. As is usuall MFK style, staff are told not to discuss it and support their well “repected” co-worker.
Too bad Dan. You were a rising star and had the world at your feet. Too bad you did not know how to be honest with people who cared. Most of the writings above are true, starting from years ago. Dan, you lost a lot in the past, but if you do not want to lose everything, please get help. Some people don’t want to see anyone suffer, even if you lied, cheated and only cared about your battle to get to the top. Your father is looking down on you…only wanting the best for you. The good thing in all this (other than him while driving drunk did not kill someone)is that Doorakian is finally making some people happy!

Let me add… Daniel Doorakian was dating my daughter and treated her terribly. They were together through both of his DUI incidents, I believe. He is a regular at Flashdance and Rachel’s. Notably, he was at Flashdance on BOTH nights before handedly getting pulled over for his DUI’s. Although she sang praises of him AND his career, it is clear he was not a good match for her, and maybe not for any other women. I, for her sake and any other women he may see in the future, hope he pulls it together, fixes his lying problem, and gets help for the alcoholism. God knows he has some potential if he has made it this far in his career.

My name is Jennifer Keeler and I am Gina’s sister. First let me start by saying that I love my sister and that she is completely and totally heartbroken. She also, has no idea that I am posting this, but eventually will find out. Time after time has she given Dan the chance to redeem himself for his “misguided judgement”. What Gina needs (for personal closure) is one of you to come up with some tangible proof of his actions. Out of 77 comments, roughly 3/4 of you are saying the same thing, but no one will mention their names (as I have) or have provided “proof”. Please understand, I am disgusted by what he has done to my sister and am only trying to help my sister move on with her life.
