First class pain: Unruly Ivana Trump booted off a flight at Palm Beach International

Palm Beach jet-setter Ivana Trump, who you’d think would fly private, was booted off a commercial flight departing Palm Beach International Airport this afternoon.
Trump, 60, a former wife of TV star and developer Donald Trump, was not charged with a crime but was escorted off the first-class cabin of Delta flight 2377 to New York City’s LaGuardia Airport and to her waiting chauffeur.
The way a spokeswoman with the Palm Beach Sheriff’s Office puts it, the departing jet’s pilot called deputies about 2:30 p.m. because of a foul-mouthed and unruly passenger in seat 1C, in first class.
When the lawmen arrived, they discovered the abusive passenger was the well-known socialite. They described her as “belligerent” and “aggravating.”
According to PBSO, Trump first was unhappy about her seat. Flight attendants offered her another, and headphones, to calm her down. But then Trump became more frustrated when children started running up and down the aisle while screaming.

As the plane started to taxi out, an agitated Trump started calling the kids “little fu…..” and telling passengers around her “f*@& you!”
“She was so belligerent toward other passengers and crew that the plane returned to the terminal,” said Teri Barbera, the PBSO spokeswoman.
Trump first refused the deputies’ orders to exit the aircraft. She finally relented after Delta staff offered her to fly at a later date.
“From initial contact until Ms. Trump left the property, she was saying “f&%$ you” to all the deputies,” Barbera’s statement read.
FBI was contacted but didn’t pursue the matter. The ordeal caused a two-hour delay for Trump’s fellow passengers.
The incident comes as airports throughout the world are tightening security measures after an alleged terrorist tried to set off a bomb on a Northwest Airlines flight on Christmas Day near Detroit.
Trump, meanwhile, hasn’t had the greatest time lately. Her 20-month marriage to the much younger Rossano Rubicondi, 37, is running out of steam. Rubicondi, Trump’s fourth husband, has been spreading his love all over Europe while Trump spent the holiday alone in her Palm Beach mansion. She filed for the divorce earlier this month.
Trump couldn’t be contacted and her publicist, Catherine Saxton, didn’t return calls.

As my children were on that flight I watched the flight leave and then go back to the gate. When they went back to the gate all the passengers were further delayed because they went into the baggage hold on the plane to hunt for her bags.

Those are the same kids that were running up and down every idle in Costco and the local grocery store earlier and their parents were nowhere to be seen. Oh the joys of having the kids run free on the airplane. And the sheer pleasure of having them sit behind you and kick your seat for a thousand miles or more, while their parents are across the aisle. They should have given her a stiff drink and headphones. What was the pilot doing listening to the passengers while moving the airplane around the runway anyways?
I have had the displeasure of her company in the past. The attitude does not surprise me. She should have been charged for disrupting th flight. I guarantee if I was in a plane on the runway and caused such a commotion to require the plane to return to terminal, I woulkd certainly be led off in handcuffs. The SHeriff’s Department’s lack of action here only reinforces her belligerence and proves that your checkbook equals what you can get away with. If I were on that plane I would definitely find a lawyer and civilly sue the crap out of her. I think there could be a class action suit. I think EVERYONE on the plane should be entitled to their money paid for the tickets by way of Ivana. It is even more disgusting to me that Delta had to basically bribe her off of the plane with the lure of free tickets…pfft…Pepper spray is much cheaper and would have done the trick, anyone else would have been tased or sprayed.

I can relate to anyone who becomes frustrated by kids who are unruly, loud, screaming, and uncontrolled by irresponsible, thoughtless parents. It isn’t cute. It IS f***king annoying and distracting. Of course, unruly kids on a plane are annoying, we all know that, but sometimes parents can’t control them either. I was flying first class to Hawaii with my grandson, and he cried, acted up and was a royal pain for much of the flight. I did my best to distract and contain him, but he was uncontrollable. I know other first class passengers were annoyed, but I’m sure they realized I was trying my best to quiet and settle him. I had games, snacks, portable DVD player… it was a long flight, and eventually he fell asleep. On the flight home, in the back of the plane, he was as good as gold and no trouble at all. Go figure.

Sorry SunnyDayz…you’re the one who is supposed to be in control, NOT your kid (in this case your grandkid). What has happened to kids these days? Parents and grandparents don’t want to be authority figures anymore; they want to be FRIENDS with their kids. A trip to the restroom and a couple of swats on the backend would have most likely ended the unruly behavior; sometimes that is needed to break the bad behavior and get their attention but sadly, many view that as “child abuse.” What a crock. Children need to learn that certain behaviors in certain situations will NOT be tolerated. There have been times when I’ve intervened and done the job that a parent wasn’t doing. Amazing, with just a few short words (no cursing) the children straightened up. Get a backbone, parents. As CNS&Y sang, “Teach your children well.”

If these kids had been controlled by the parents and the attendants had done their job in insisting that the kids be belted in their seats, this whole thing would not have happened in the first place. One pays more to fly first class and expects more for the money spent on that ticket, regardless of who one is. I do agree that Ivana should have been treated the same as us “commoners” but must point out the aforementioned factoid.
The PBSO deputies who boarded the aircraft - should be DISCIPLINED, SUSPENDED briefly, DEMOTED, and required to take any type of retraining to teach them how to do their jobs. If a deputy were called onto an aircraft because YOU or I were an unruly and/or vulgar passenger - and we REFUSED to follow the orders or directions of said Deputy - we would have been (and rightly so) immediately arrested, removed from the aircraft, and criminally charged. Ivana Trump got EXTREMELY preferential treatment - that is a “no brainer” to figure out.
About 10 years ago I did a small replacement job for her in PB, did’t like her attitude at all. She can be lucky I was’t in 1st class! I would told her to shut the f**k up you g*d d**n c**t. If the PB local police department does not have the authority to arrest her then who does? If it is a Federal offense to behave in this manner against a flight crew, then why wasn’t she arrested? I am really upset to hear about this. She should have been arrested on the spot - ESPECIALLY in a time of stricter security measures because of the incident in Detroit. Every other passenger on that plane should complain to the airline, and at the very least get a free ticket or other reimbursement. What gives her the right to hold up others for 2 hours, resisit officers, verbally abuse the staff, and then walk away?!?!? EVERYONE WHO WAS ON THAT PLANE FILE A COMPLAINT WITH THE AIRLINE NOW!

I was on the flight too. The kids were not the problem. We had already been delayed about 45 minutes before this happened. The children were not out of control, the baby cried as we were taxiing to the runway.She behaved like a brat and should have been arrested or at least charged for all the fuel wasted as we sat at the gate waiting for her to be escorted off the plane and her luggage to be removed.
I want to commend the flight crew of the plane for the professionalism they displayed in handeling the situation.
The irony of the siuation is as this whole episode unfolded Donald’s private jet was in full view, parked on the other side of the airport.
I cannot blame Ivana for being pissed off about the screaming kids running up and down the aisles on the plane. That annoys the hell out me too. The parents of these unruly brats need to start controlling their kids. If I were he, I would hit the parents for not watching their kids.

It is amazing to me that most of you are missing the obvious….the Parents of the kids! Why are you all so quick to blame Ivana? I just flew on a 10 hour flight from Italy to NY and had to listen to screaming kids for 10 hours. Why can’t parents teach their kids how to behave and not disrupt other PAYING passengers? Why are the rights of a few parents and their kids MORE important than others?? A few months ago, on a Southwest flight, an unruly child and her mother were kicked off a flight for this very reason. Common sense needs to prevail - flight attendants need to be more attentive to the needs of the MAJORITY, not the few RUDE parents and their UNRULY wild children.

THE REAL STORY:
Ms. Trump was seated in seat 1C, which is a bulkhead seat. Bulkhead seats have no under-seat storage, so all carry-ons must be placed in the overhead baggage compartment or checked as luggage. The stewardess politely asked Ms. Trump to either put her breasts in the overhead bin or they would have to be checked as luggage. She insisted on keeping them in her lap. This is when the argument ensued. CHEERS!
Clearly this melt-down is a symbol of perhaps a bigger problem going on with her.
As for the kids running up and down the aisles, that is another example of “oblivious parenting.” There are people out there with children who have no business — or interest raising children. Those are the morons who board a plane with kids or take them to the supermarket and let them run around without so much as a word to stop them. Ivana lost it sure, but most of probably would have to.
The only difference is that when the “Po-Po” left, we’d have been in the backseat with them.

Why were children running in the isles during taxi. That is against FARs and is dangerous. Children and parents should have been removed. As to Trump most women that age do not have it together anyway. So I would certainly side with her somewhat. I am a retired airline pilot. Been there many times!
As a mother of 4, I know how crabby kids can get on a plane. I’ve traveled overseas on flights with kids who just got fed up being cramped in a plane for 7 hours. I know it’s hard, but they are kids and the best parent in the world cannot always calm down a 4 year old who has been strapped in a seat from New York to Tel Aviv for hours.
Regarding Ivana Trump, she was wrong. Some previous post mentioned her being depressed. GIVE ME A BREAK! Depression is NOT an excuse for bad behavior. Most depression is self-centered anyway, and that describes Ivana to a T. There is no excuse for her behavior, and she should have been arrested. Anyone else would have been hauled off to jail for disorderly conduct. This woman needs to get her eyes off of herself and go work in a homeless shelter or a pre-school and see how privileged she really is and should just shut up.

There is no excuse for bad behavior–that includes Ivana as well as the children. Where are the comments about these children gone wild? Paying for a first class seat should give the buyer some rights. Were the unruly children asked to behave by the stewardesses, if not be their parents? Changing ones seat does not eliminate the noise and distraction. Everyone is quick to pick on Ivana who indeed acted badly, but why not require the children to be seated and quiet. They were allowed to express themselves, but Ivana was not. While I do not excuse her actions, in view of what she is going through I’m sure her tolerance level for their screaming was very low. Ny tolerance level is high, but I would agree that unruly children are even more intolerable and loud in an enclosed space.
It is amazing how rich women think they don’t have to abide by the rules. She spent Christmas alone? Good, who wants to be around an aging barbie doll with sagging fake boobs.
In my opinion- if your children are not able to be reasonably quiet- you should not bring them on a flight. I know babies are just babies-can’t really do to much to avoid the crying; but- children over the age of 3 should be either well behaved or not go on the flight. Ivana should have either told the stewardess- in a POLITE manner to shut the curtains, then go speak with the parents and advise them to either control their children or they would have to debark the plane. no excuse for her rudeness. As far as her spending the holidays alone- you reap what you sow lady- even if you are rich.
She goes to ‘Trees Wings’ and washes down her food with a pitcher or two to benefit her singing debut appearance on the Super Bowl halftime show. So don’t blame her!

Hello everyone, I think that Ivana should be charged with interfering with a flight crew. That is a federal crime! There are a lot of people in prison for that. Who is going to actually step forward? That is a shame, it really is sad how she can get away with that.

Before the kids ran up the aisle, Ivana Trump was complaining about her headphones.
Please note that neither the flight attendants nor the pilot said that there was a problem with the kids that were traveling. It does not appear that the kids were in the aisle while the plane was taxing. Presumably, that means the kids were immediately brought back to the seats prior to take off.
As for the kids being out of their seats before the flight, anyone that has traveled with kids or along side kids it is better to have them release energy before having them sit in a place for a couple of hours.
So long as the kids weren’t touching other passengers, they have as much right to use the aisle as someone standing in the aisle to stretch, retrieve a laptop from an overhead bin or use the lavatory.
But Trump continued swearing at the kids AND other passengers that weren’t related to the kids AND the air crew AND the deputies that responded.
If only Ivana Trump had been as well behaved as the kids…
You think out of control kids on planes are bad,what about when parents start bringing them to work. I have a 40 year old coworker that brought her 7 and 11 year old boys to work with her in our office for several hours a day for over a week last year and allowed them to run wild,scream,jam up the paper shredder,take off their shoes and socks and run down public hallways to the bathroom. I finally had to report her to management. A year before that a father brought his 2 year old boy to work and was holding a phone with one hand and his squirming brat with the other. He finally gave up and took his laptop and kid to a conference room where the kid could play on the floor. Another woman that year brought her 7 year old niece in and I ad to stop work several times to get the aunt and tell her the kid was roaming the halls by herself and was playing on the office chairs and fell and nearly hit her head on a desk. Had I known this local management allowed out of control brats to be brought to work during our working hours, I never would have taken this job I can understand how Ivana lost control. The parents of those brats should be glad she just cursed at them.

Ivana’s behavior was totally out of line but so was the behavior of the children who were running and screaming up and down the aisles. That’s the LAST thing that I would want to be subjected to while “trapped” in the confines of a plane. Where were their parents and shame on them? Those brats should have been in their seats and if the parents were not able to control their off-spring…which seems to be the case these days…then the flight attendants should have done so. It is their job to maintain calm on a plane. Their statement was that “the children were high spirited.” What would happen if an adult became “high spirited” and started shouting and running up and down the aisles? We all know the answer to that. A plane is not a playground. Shame on Delta. Shame on the flight attendants who were on that flight. Most of all SHAME ON THE PARENTS. Control your children people!! Ivana should not be subjected to chaos on a plane. No none else should be either. If I was there, I am afraid that I would have told the parents to control their kids. If they were incapable of doing so, I would DEMAND that the flight attendant do so for the safety of all on board.

Answer; they were not. If any of you hillbillies had ever flown you would know that when you load a plane the program is get seated ASAP. Tray table up, luggage stowed, bins closed, electronics off, seat belt on, seat back up, before the plane leaves the gate to taxi. If there were anybody up in the aisles the whole program is stopped for that person.
This plane was stopped during taxi because this ugly bitch could not STFU and had to return to the gate for her period.
She just made up the running kid BS to cover her own azz and if she is so perturbed by the sound of kids imagine how annoying her caterwalling is to everyone around her especially those kids who had a paid ticket just like her.

I take it that you don’t have kids. I do agree that parents must try in every way possible to ensure their children behave, but kids can be kids sometimes and run a muck. I am sure you did when you were a child. I find adults now a days just have no patience, seeing as people are having dogs as their children and have no idea how it is to raise them. Nonetheless. This rude ass of an adult should have been more polite and maybe have asked the kids in a polite manner to behave or make a complaint in a classer fashion. People step out of your box with your quiet and solitude and maybe smile at children and remember how it was for you as a child. This world would be a better place. Children run yell scream play. They are not adults, this women is or should act like one. I am sure she had the nannies hush up her kids.
