EXCLUSIVE — Rush Limbaugh: “Kate, I think I’m having a heart attack!”

Alone in his Kahala Hotel suite at nap time last Wednesday, an obviously stressed out Rush Limbaugh called his longtime girlfriend and told her: “Kate, I think I’m having a heart attack!”
In a gripping, exclusive e-mail from Hawaii, the radio talker’s lady love, West Palm Beach resident Kathryn Rogers, gave Page2Live a dramatic play-by-play of what really happened before Limbaugh was rushed to a Honolulu hospital.
And while Limbaugh told the media at his release from the hospital on New Year’s Day that doctors didn’t find anything wrong, Rogers’ intimate account indicates that, without the proper response, the outcome could have been different.

Rogers, 33, a VIP manager for the upcoming Super Bowl, said she was having her nails done with her mother downstairs at the chi-chi Kahala when she received an unusual phone call from the conservative voice.
“At lunch, Rush was in a fantastic, upbeat mood,” Rogers wrote, adding that she and Limbaugh traveled to Hawaii to visit her family. “I sent a text to him in the spa to tell him it was great to see him so relaxed and happy. He wrote back ‘thank you’.
“Later, I received another text from Rush. I didn’t look at it . . . Within two minutes he called.
“Due to Rush’s (hearing loss), we don’t often speak over the phone, more via e-mail and text,” Rogers continued. “When I saw that he was calling, I thought that’s weird he never calls. I answered with my one free hand. Rush said ‘Kate, I think I’m having a heart attack!’ in a very stressed tone. I hung up, pushed back the nail table and yelled to my mom: ‘Rush is having a heart attack! Call 911!’”
Rogers ran up to Limbaugh’s suite.

“As I entered, Rush was standing holding his chest, face red, sweating, all the makings of a heart attack,” Rogers wrote. “I said, ‘Oh my God,’ and sat him down telling him the ambulance is on the way. Within minutes the hotel managers and security team were in the room.
“The pain was worsening and the scene was extremely scary. I kept reassuring Rush that the ambulance was on the way. The (hotel) security staff . . . put Rush on the floor and gave him an aspirin. His symptoms continued to escalate and we were all very scared. The paramedics arrived and began to evaluate Rush on the floor. He was administered nitro(glycerin) and we were rushed to Queen’s Medical Center.”
Rogers described how she stayed up the following night to watch over Limbaugh, who turns 59 next week. He spent the next day getting tested. Limbaugh and Rogers celebrated New Year’s Eve by watching the ball drop in New York City on the tube from his hospital room.
“The doctors did say while this was not a full-blown massive heart attack, timing was extremely important,” Rogers wrote. “We believe strongly the quick action on the part of the security team at the hotel and the paramedics resulted in Rush being O.K. today.”
Under normal circumstances, Rogers wrote, she’d wait before calling 911, because of “privacy concerns.” But this time around, something told her not to waste time.
Rogers wrote that she agreed to provide details of the couple’s ordeal in the hope that readers who may end up in similar situations will not hesitate to seek help quickly.
Limbaugh is scheduled to return to his Palm Beach mansion on Tuesday, and to the EIB airwaves Wednesday. He will be evaluated by top cardiologists in Florida over the next few weeks, Rogers said.
A ‘girlfriend’, who gives out such detailed personal information, seems intent on PR campaign for herself.

It would be more believably if she was in the room with him when he asked her to call. It’s almost like she’s using her mother as a alibi, but wants credit for saving him. This reeks of Elin Woods’ version of the Tiger Woods debacle.

Like millions of Americans, I was terrified at the thought of Rush dying. Whatever the problem is (or was), millions of us are relieved that he is ok. As for “Kate”—she is a part of Rush’s personal life and not subject to public scrutiny. If she is using him, he will fugure it out—or maybe he won’t. Either way, he will survive, and it’s none of our business.
I have a problem with the way that the present administration is governing, but do not hate their guts or wish any of them dead. Rush praised the hospital. It’s even more liberal than the current Health Car Bill. Hawaii did health care reform in the 1970’s. It’s 80% socialized over there.

The name of the hospital–”Queen’s”–is in tribute to the Native Hawaiian royalty that established it in the 1800’s for the native people.
Today, some Native Hawaiians have complained that Queen’s Hospital has lost its vision and is just another capitalistic enterprise and not the eleemosynary institution it was set up to be.
In fact, Queen’s wasn’t set up to be an e/i; it takes money to run a hospital, and Queen’s provides the highest state of the art medical care available in Hawaii, not socialized medicine, and Queen’s Hospital charges accordingly, not by some socialistic rate schedule.
Where Hawaii’s socialized health care system comes into play is in the two part bill that patients get from Queen’s Hospital and all other health care providers.
Part One of a medical bill shows the limited portion of the hospital bill that the socialistic health care insurer will pay;
Part Two is the patient portion of the bill.
Queen’s Hospital is famous for not letting patients leave the hospital until they settle up Parts One *and* Two of their hospital bill.
So, Hawaii surely has a socialized health insurance system, but the health care providers must and do charge market rates.
Thankfully, Rush Limbaugh–and us guys in Hawaii–don’t get socialized medicine here, yet.
Thank God for Mr. Limbaugh raising Americans’ awareness of the folly of s/m.

Doctors, however, are famous in the Islands for giving courtesy discounts to patients.
Surgeons are famous for only charging the portion of the bill covered by insurance.
My doctors and surgeons have generously given me such aloha.
They tell me, however, that their billing practices will have to change if Obamacare takes effect.
One doctor told me he shakes family members by the shoulders and says, “Don’t you know we’re going to lose what we got” when the state workers take control of our personal affairs?

My prayers are always with Rush. The difference between Conservatives and Liberals are that Conservatives volunteer our time and donate our money to worthy causes. Liberals tax other people’s money

You better believe “something told her not to waste time.” There’s an awful lot of detail that favors her actions in Kate’s account yet one thing captures my attention, and intrigues me more than any other: that two-minute lapse of time between Rush’s second text, and his cell phone call to Kate. I just read a number of comments on this post and most made me want to vomit. This is the difference between libs and conservatives. All libs care about is themselves. Conservatives want to work together. That’s way you never see talk of crossing the aisle for lefties. It’s only for McCain and his ilk.

I know a guy at the age of 48 that went to the hospital under (what appears to me) the same circumstances.The doctors said he didn’t have a heart attack.
He went home and died in the shower from a heart attack.I believe it was the next day.

I am not a Democrat or Replublican. I consinder myself a person who evaluates the issues and andidates and decides which would be best for our country and the American public, as someone who has fought for american’s freedoms for over 32 years. With this backgound I feel it is very wrong for all of you who feel free to pass quick judgment upon anone else without fully acceping or evaluating all the facts (a common fault with people who are affiliated with a political party and cannot be an individual). I’m sure there are thousands, if not millions, of people in the world who have done the same thing as Rush. Yet, because of his political views, you feel free to make every attempt to disgrace him or call fault with him or anyone in his life. Why be so negative or hatefull? Why not consider the reason for all the press realeases they made which was, as they said, was to bring awarness of heart attact symtoms and maybe open one person’s eyes to do something when they feel these symtoms. Pretty simple and not as calculated or difficult as most people would accuse. Would you be so quick to judge the founder of the breast cancer foundation or the founder of the autosim foundation if they were also in the “political arena”? It is so true that politics make strange bedfellows and it seems most of the comments are from those who want to “jump in bed” with the “political leaders”. Be an individual, think for yourself, and “judge not lest you be judged”.
