Here comes Rush Limbaugh! The Musical.

The famed comedy theater Second City, in Prez Barack Obama’s hometown of Chicago, is preparing for a seven-week run of a new musical based on the humble radio beginnings of conservative radio talker Rush Limbaugh.

Although few details are known, it’s fair to assume that it won’t be too kind to the radio star. Already, the actor who portrays Rush, Chicago thespian Mark Sutton, blogged that he hasn’t played a character with as much following since he did serial killer Charles Manson in Manson: The Musical.

Palm Beacher Limbaugh, who returned last week after chest pains sent him to a hospital in Hawaii, seemed cranky this morning when Page2Live e-mailed him about it.

“First I’ve heard of it (the show),” Limbaugh wrote back. “I have no comment or reaction. It’s like asking me to comment on an article about me in the (defunct alien-loving tabloid) Weekly World News.”

According to advance publicity for the show, much of the action centers on Rush’s early days as a morning jock named Jeff Christie. The theater even put up on its Web site old tapes of El Rushbo as Christie:

The musical’s score, meanwhile, includes tunes from Broadway’s Wicked and Rent.

Kelly Leonard, a Second City VP and the producer, told me the goal of the production is “to have people leave with their faces hurting from laughing.”

“A show wouldn’t work if the main character isn’t likeable,” Leonard said. “And if that makes Rush feel any better, we’re taking shots at everyone, including Hillary Clinton and Ann Coulter.” (see bird’s eye view of Coulter’s Palm Beach home here.)

Some online comments about the musical, which previews January 31, haven’t been kind. They include accusations of character assassination.

“The leftist propaganda machine goes into motion to defame supporters of the constitution and self-government,” one comment reads.

Said Leonard: “We are in a conspiracy. The conspiracy to make money.”

Second City, which trained the likes of Dan Aykroyd, Bill Murray and Gilda Radner, already is in talks to take the show on tour.

Who would you rather . . . talk politics with?

Rush will appreciate any of the PR generated from such a production. He is a hog.

I did not know John Wayne Gacy was a disc jockey at one time?

Really, this sorry excuse for journalism at the Palm Beach Post should acknowledge its wannabes to the National Enquirer. Since it can’t provide much in the way of factual non-prejudicial hard news, it enlists flunkies who need to stoop to gossip and orchestrated sensationalism to keep the rag afloat. Way NOT to go PBP, with Jose.

Rush knows it’ll be less than kind Jose, hence the
e-reply (I would’nt say cranky). The YouTube clip was typical Rush, the skilled broadcaster. Since the clip is completely nonpolitical, I’d recommend the Rush haters that are your readers click this link and check it out- they’ll be surprised to learn this guy is not the madman he’s made out to be, and it’s the same personality he has now.
But if they have any aversion to someone who’s confident and a good communicator, they’ll get annoyed………………………………….

To think anyone would pay good money to have to look, listen and then absorb the rantings of this megalocoego maniac is beyond me. Hope it makes it to New York, worth a trip north. At least the music will be good.

Rush is the most popular radio personality in America.
He is on 600 stations for 3 hours a day.
Rush will always be a winner because he speaks the truth.

Rush would kiss his own ass if it would his ratings.

AND he doesn’t give a damn because he gets rich.

Hope he bites the dust real soon
