International Polo Club Palm Beach owner John Goodman’s bar tab moments before last week’s deadly car crash shows he ordered about $200 worth of booze during Ladies’ Night at a popular Wellington watering-hole.

According to a source close to the criminal investigation into the accident, Goodman used his credit card to pay for 16 shots of tequila, one of Grey Goose vodka and one of Johnny Walker red, then left a $60-tip for the bartender at the Players Club.

“It doesn’t mean he drank it all himself,” the informant told Page2Live. “As a matter of fact, we’re fairly sure he didn’t. But he bought the first round, and there were seven or eight people with him. There was definitely some kind of a partying going on.”

Fewer than 30 minutes after Goodman left, 23-year-old Scott Wilson was dead. Goodman, 46, at the wheel of his $250,000-Bentley convertible, plowed into Wilson’s Hyundai after allegedly ignoring a stop sign. Goodman suffered minor injuries. No charge has been filed, but the Palm Beach Sheriff’s Office and state attorneys are investigating whether Goodman was impaired.

Assistant State Attorney Ellen Roberts, who specializes in high-profile DUI cases, subpoenaed Goodman’s credit card receipt from the Players Club but also those of his friends.

The Players Club’s lawyer, Craig Galle, is traveling and couldn’t be reached.

So, what else will Roberts find out? Look below or click

One of Goodman’s players on his Isla Carroll team, Kris Kampsen, bought another round, eight shots of Baileys and two beers. Others in the group downed drinks called Mind Erasers (Kahlua, vodka and soda) and others Irish Car Bombs, a mixture of beer, Baileys and whisky.

Goodman met his buddies at an earlier party at the White Horse Tavern, on the grounds of the Equestrian Center, during a charity Bartender Challenge. (See the pictures here or by clicking on the photo).

Also ensnared in the investigation is Stacey Shore, a 32-year-old polo groupie who was cozying up to the divorced Goodman at the bar.

“Stacey is cooperating fully with investigators,” her lawyer, Tom Gano, said. “She hasn’t been subpoenaed, but she’s been cooperative.”

The source close to the investigation said authorities wanted to know about the sweet nothings that Goodman whispered to Shore, as well as where Goodman was headed when the crash occurred.

I hear Goodman invited Shore to accompany him, but she declined.

Shore hung up when Page2Live reached her Friday.

Goodman’s lawyer, Miami’s Roy Black, didn’t return call for comment.

    Good Job Jose.

Without people like you and Bob Norman ……the corruption in this town…would still be going unchecked…..even more than it is……if that’s possible.

But put a lot of money and 6,000 lawyers in any county, as in PB County….and you can bet it will be turned into a hellhole of corruption and unethical insanity in no time.

Did prosecutors find or subpoena the credit card receipt or statement? Why can’t The Post ever create a title for a story that is accurate instead of exaggerating the real story. Glad to see the State Attorney’s Office working to develop a comprehensive picture of what took place.

Great. Another “Lady of the Evening” is going to get publicity off the sins of a wealthy man. I am disgusted that Jose would even print a picture of her. We are all forgetting that an innocent man lost his life. Sadly, this story has evolved into a sordid expose of the lifestyles of the rich in PB County. We all know that Goodman’s life was hedonistic and based on excessive amounts of alcohol, drugs, and easy women. Why can’t we focus on Scotts life instead? The difference between him and Goodman is that Scott had he lived would have made positive contributions to the world - and not contributing to the dark underworld like Goodman has in his private life.

  12. Comment by Bob — February 20, 2010 @ 5:18 pm

Jose, why are you not reporting on the funeral? Today is Scotts day, not the pieces of crap mentioned in this article!

WELL SAID #14!!! We don’t need to hear about the gold digging floozies who relentlessly pursued this man for his wallet. Keep the story on Scott and his family. If anyone should get some free publicity on here it should be MADD.

Stacey Shore is a pathetic gold digger. She has a lawyer now because of the drugs. If she did nothing wrong she would not need one. She should go to jail too.

The TRUTH will come out about all the people involved in this which is turning out to be a very high profile case that has emotions churning. Unfortunately for this Stacey girl, she will be dragged into this whether she likes it or not, and negetative things will be said. The investigators on the case will dig up everything they can on everyone who was with Goodman that night. I am certain there will be other women who will be questioned and involved also.

Hey JessieB - are you a Goodman groupie too? Are you out with Stacey at nearly ALL the free celebrity bartender and coctail events on the hunt for a rich man? This girl is at Amici and the Grill in PB every week at the bar. She’s a bar girl and none of these men want her for other than a one night stand. I guess you are one of them too! I have a boyfriend and get to go to the PB galas. I dont have to sit and wait at a bar for a wealthy man I already have one.

  36. Comment by Edwar Alexander — February 20, 2010 @ 11:50 pm

OH, C’mon!!!!! Nothing will happen!!!! If you are involved in any accident in Palm Beach County and you are a regular person(non-millionaire or billionaire), they WILL MAKE YOU TAKE A SOBRIETY TEST, but, in this case, no police officer or sheriff officer did that to this guy, off course!!!!

  37. Comment by SteveW — February 20, 2010 @ 11:54 pm

Money brings out the worst in people and the worst of people - as this blog shows. I don’t want to hear about who this guy slept with, or the cat fights of these women competing to land a wealthy man. What I want to hear about is justice being served to Goodman, and that our legal system does work no matter for both rich and poor. My prayers are with Scott’s family.

  38. Comment by Sad but True — February 21, 2010 @ 12:09 am

Why wasn’t he given some kind of alcohol test on the scene? If it was anybody else they would be in jail. I would be questioning the police that night. There should be no doubt he was intoxicated. Regular people have been pulled in for less. All those people who are in his camp are garbage; they all party and drive home drunk or drugged. They could care less. I am surprised that this doesn’t happen more often. This is the kind of world that people who try to do the right thing have to live with others who have no conscience or a decent value system. We have become their victims.

  39. Comment by kate — February 21, 2010 @ 12:29 am

Hey sad but true, are you not following this case or what. Goodman left the scene before the cops arrived! Didnt you see the kid on the late night news with his hood up and sunglasses who arrived on the scene before the cops or paramedics got there? The Bentley was on the side of the road, Scott Wilson’s car was upside downin the canal and Goodman was no where to be found. He either walked away or someone came and picked him up. He left that boy to drown. Scott Wilson drowned. The boy that came upon the accident scene that night called 911. Goodman never did cause the cowardly SOB fled the scene so the cops could not test him then and there.

  40. Comment by carl — February 21, 2010 @ 12:31 am

he wasnt given a test cause he fled the scene before the cops arrived. Dont you watch the news?

  41. Comment by Daniel — February 21, 2010 @ 12:38 am

Wouldn’t be surprized if Stacey picked him up. Why does she have a lawyer and why is she in the story? Goodman was around many woman that night. There is something that happened with this one…that is why she has been questioned. Hope he does pay her off for her silence. But it might be too late for that. There is alot more to this story that will come out sooner or later.

  42. Comment by Question — February 21, 2010 @ 12:42 am

Can someone please give me a time line for what happened? I have not been following this. If Goodman fled the scene how did he end up at the hospital? Did the cops question him at all? Who is the kids who called 911? Someone update me please….

  43. Comment by Ho Ho — February 21, 2010 @ 12:44 am

Do you think she had something to do with removing him from the accident scene?

    Pathetic if true.

But it does make some sense…why else would she have an attorney?

  44. Comment by Lisa — February 21, 2010 @ 12:56 am

Just got in. Didn’t see Stacy Shore tonight at Brazilian Court where she usually is on Saturday nights. Not surprised. I did speak to some guys who “know her very well” if you know what I mean… ; ) Word is that she was following John on the way back to his place, and was the first on the scene and picked him up and drove him to the hospital. So she aided him in leaving the scene, and leaving Scott to die. SHE is more to blame that Goodman, who was obviously intoxicated and in shock at the time. She only thought of herself and John (and what more she would get out of him), and got the hell out of there. She deserves just as much jail time as she does if this is true!

  45. Comment by carl — February 21, 2010 @ 12:59 am

I have been following and the time line is this. Accident occured sometime around 1a.m. At about 1:15 two young teenage boys arrived on the scene and saw debris in the road and Goodmans Bentley smashed to pieces on the side of the road. Poor Scott Wilson was upside down in a canal drowned by now(the autopsy said drowning cause of death). The two boys said goodman was no where to be found. So the question is, how did he leave the scene, on foot or did someone come and get him?. He never called 911, the two boys did. When the cops arrived the two boys said they were never questioned by cops, they werent even asked their names. Pretty strange ay? Goodman apparently had someone drive him to hospital cause the paramedics never took him. When they arrived on the scene he was long gone.

  46. Comment by Accessory — February 21, 2010 @ 1:10 am

So would Stacey be an accessory to murder if they let the young man drown?

Why has he not been charged with leaving the scene of an accident involving a death?

And her? What could she be charged with?

  47. Comment by Hung up.. — February 21, 2010 @ 1:13 am

Interesting…she is cooperation but “Hangs Up” on Jose?

  48. Comment by Question — February 21, 2010 @ 1:13 am

Are there really such cases (other than OJ) where guys like this get off and walk free? There is too much evidence (unless his attorney can convince a jury that someone stole his car and did this) against him. And the outrage would be explosive in the community if this guy never got punished. Has the mother or family said anything about their thoughts on him getting away with this?

  49. Comment by Lisa — February 21, 2010 @ 1:15 am

Goodman was whispering to her to follow him home for lots of coke and sex - and maybe a gift of jewellery. She is just as guilty as he is!

  50. Comment by Pat — February 21, 2010 @ 1:18 am

Those were hard drinks everyone was having. What every happened to a glass of wine or champagne at these events? Its no wonder there are so many DUI cases. Seems the drink of choice is getting stronger ans stronger.

He “hasnt been charged ??? ” Whats the delay ? Anyone else would have had their blood alcohol drawn immediately by PBSO in a manslaughter case. Lets not forget about the poor young man who was driving responsibly. HE IS NOW DEAD.

  53. Comment by reasonable doubt — February 21, 2010 @ 8:13 am

What proof is there that Goodman was behind the wheel?
His injuries? You can get injured in ways other than a car crash.
State can’t prove he was driving unless he told cops or hospital he was driving. He may not have, so state has nothing to put him behind the wheel.
Can’t be proven beyond a reasonable doubt.

  54. Comment by Tom — February 21, 2010 @ 8:18 am

Didn’t they first report they found him walking down the road by the accent? And can’t a patrolman check with a breathalyzer unit right on site? And now they are reporting he blew a stop sign? So Y wasn’t he ever put into jail that night? This family should be irate! If that was my son they would have to drag me this man’s lawn for trying to make a citizen’s arrest! & I am sure Goodman’s attorney will try to attack this dead kid’s name when this case goes to court. Victimizing this family yet again! I think we all need to listen to more Rage Against The Machine!

Goodman walked down 120th to a barn’s groom apartment where he knocked on the door asking to use a telephone because he had been in an accident. That groom has been questioned. The cops picked him up at that barn.

Goodman is a no good for anything trust fund baby who has not worked a a day in his life. He also never learned about responsibility or being accountible for his actions. O.J. got off because of the star struck jury and his celebrity. This guy has no following other than a bunch of Ho’s who service him for free polo tickets in the VIP tents. I don’t think he can avoid charges. Someone said the state is being extra thorough in their investigation knowing they will be up against Roy Black. Had they arrested him, they would have to bring their charges within 30 days and would have been rushed. I think this guy is toast. Leaving the accident and not assisting the victim is worse than the actual accident.

  63. Comment by johnnybgood — February 21, 2010 @ 10:15 am

why would he have to walk to use a phone? Wouldnt he have had a cell phone on him, unless he lost it in the accident. Where did you hear that he went to a groomsman apartment?. that is a new one. I am trying to figure out if why he was traveling south on 120th and got to Lake Worth road. Someone said he lives on 120th. On the other side of lake worth road, 120th is a small dirt road. Maybe he was too drunk and passed his house up then. He is not listed in property appraisors office either. Interesting. Must have his house in someones elese name.

And there’s absolutely no one competent handling any kind of P.R. to manage this mess. “Informant” says MAYBE Goodman didn’t DRINK ALL 16 SHOTS he bought. Wow. What a badly handled mess. And on the other end of the stick, the saddest funeral of the year with the young man’s shot at life taken away.

i am a terrible speller yes. but also was very upset when i read the comments about stacy and posted with-out proof reading. i happen to be extremely smart in a master program but struggle with dyslexia. if it makes you feel more of a man because you pick them so be it but i am far from a stripper. i am just a good friend of stacy and john. i feel that terrible for the young man that lost his life but i feel these comments are mean and insulting. i know both stacy and john well and both are good hearted people. john made a mistake and he has to deal with it but these comments are so out of control. he was one of the most giving men even who used poor judgement why dont you just let the courts deal with it and keep your stupid insults to yourself because you know nothing about these people your attacking or me. get a life you loser! and lisa go fuck off it sounds like your a very unhappy pretentious person. but point being i dont know you and you dont know them so we should all stop judging.

It’s all about physics…vehicle 1 was traveling at a high rate of speed & PLOWED vehicle 2…that’s the only way Scott’s car could have ended up in the canal…the only way vehicle 1 could have maintained that rate of speed is by taking the stop sign…these facts have already been determined…what’s still alleged is the driver’s impairment & whether he fled the scene, but all evidence does indicate pretty heavily towards that…do you honestly think anybody in thier “right mind” would be in that predicament? I have FAITH that everything will come to light, in the meantime I keep praying.

Jose, if you were rich enough, Stacey Shore wouldn’t have hung up on you. She would have hung out with you at the bar.
I don’t believe she bears any responsibility for the crash. The whole incident just brought to light her hedonistic gold-digger lifestyle.

Welcome to Palm Beach County Mr. Roy Black–where the prosecutors and juries know how to get it right (unlike California with OJ Simpson).

Perhaps if people like that chick would stay home more and not be out trolling for rich dudes; they won’t be in this siuation. And if that old rich asshole was not behind the wheel of his 250,000 car after drinking; he would not have killed someone. Sounds like a repeat of Ted Kennedy. Kill someone; get off because you have money….flee the scene. Nice morals people involved. Stop defending these douche bag elitists. Especially when you can not spell for shit..no matter that you are in a masters program. You are still a tard(jessieb)

  80. Comment by American Cop — February 22, 2010 @ 2:47 pm

The vitriol and hatred that #78 accuses people of spewing here, is what we in America refer to as Freedom of Speech. It’s what makes this country run and what makes the government listen. Just like #75 has an opinion so does everyone else and they are just as valid. Our opinions are based on our past experiences.

There is no excuse for not arresting someone leaving the seen of an accident involving a death. Whether they have a celebrity attorney has nothing to do with the SAO being able to prepare a case in 30 days. Had Mr. Goodman taken a gun and shot this young man in cold blood then hire the same attorney, would he still be walking the streets? Of course not.

Whether Mr. Wilson was deprived of his life by a gunshot or a two ton weapon makes no dfference because he is gone just the same. DUI (in and of itself is a misdemeanor), while leaving the scene of an accident with injuries or death is a felony. The SAO and the PBSO have enough probable cause to make an arrest, they don’t need to be sure of a conviction before they can make an arrest. That is an excuse for preferential treatment.

People are not stupid to think that Mr. Goodman’s deep pockets and political connections may have played a role in his not being subjected to and immediate arrest. If the Palm Beach Post article says he was behind the wheel and blew a stop sign, that is more than speculation. The Palm Beach Post is well aware that if they publish false information they can be sued, especially by someone with the resources of Mr. Goodman.

Who he hires as an attorney should not matter before the law when it comes to getting arrested. If it does, then the people are justified in their anger over the preferential treatment of a wealthy individual. This is the reason people are so highly upset and they have every right to be.

To 75 and 78. I enjoyed your description of “small minded folks” It was about as pompous as can be. You are correct, I for one do not know any of the parties involved directly or indirectly. What I do know is that when pbso came on the scene involving a Bentley the kid gloves went on. If thats my truck hitting that kid, my sobriety is determined immediately and I go to jail and await arraignment. I’m not sent home, pending investigation, and given time to assemble my legal team. I know that man is sorry and I’ve driven home after partying several times. Thank God I never killed anyone. But if you want to be a big shot socialite and put yourself in the spotlight. You better be squeaky clean. As far as his kids are concerned, I was under the impression that he had reneged on an agreement about drug screens. Thereby giving up his parental rights. There was partying to be done. You see, Mr Sad. You can be a socialite with a big heart and still have the problems and demons of say, a plumber or hairdresser. And justice should be served accordingly. Thats all most of us are looking for.

  82. Comment by John Goodman — February 22, 2010 @ 3:30 pm

John Goodman here heading out for drinks and some steak tartar, anyone want to to pick them up anything?

  83. Comment by American Cop — February 22, 2010 @ 3:39 pm

To answer Sad’s question about who was driving the Bentley, here is what is being reported in a Palm Beach Post article, “Sheriff’s reports say Goodman was at the wheel of his black Bentley convertible about 1 a.m. when it ran a stop sign, pitching Wilson’s Hyundai into a canal.” Here is the link:

    http://www.palmbeachpost.com/news/once-called-angel-of-wellington-polo-goodman-faces-267351.html.

Why do you keep focusing on whether he was DUI or not when DUI in an of itself is a misdemeanor? You are overlooking the fact that Mr. Goodman left the scene of an accident with a death. It’s a felony and far worst than being DUI.

Before you try to use the defense that he did not know Mr. Wilson was dead, consider what a “reasonable person” would think after hitting a car, flipping it over and sending it into a canal.

By the way the “probable cause” standard is not synonymous with “beyond a reasonable doubt”.

  86. Comment by John Goodman — February 22, 2010 @ 3:55 pm

Hey everyone, drinks are on me tonight at Player’s Club from 7 to 10.

  87. Comment by American Cop — February 22, 2010 @ 4:17 pm

Well Mr. Sad the people are not questioning whether he is in serious trouble or not. What they are questioning is why wasn’t an immediate arrest effected when there is ample and sufficient probable cause to do so.

I value your opinion just as much as everyone else’s which is what this comments section is all about. It’s about getting the people involved in the community to share their thoughts and opinioins. Only an engaged citizenry will efffect changes in our government. I am sure you are well aware of the corruption in Palm Beach County government and PBSO. But I digress and move back to addressing your post on #88.

If it was an average Joe in Mr. Goodman’s shoes and knowing PBSO’s M.O. I am inclined to believe he would have been shot dead by PBSO (with justification after a pursuit or after confronting a barricaded suspect) or he would be in jail. Those are elements (obfuscated by law enforcement inaction or deviation from the usual procedure) that are not present in this case and which are the catalysts responsible for fueling what you refer to as the vitrol.

People’s anger does not stem from Mr. Goodman’s wealth or status but rather the disparate treatment law enforcement authorities employ with the haves and have nots.

  90. Comment by learn — February 22, 2010 @ 5:41 pm

SAD’s comments look like one of JG’s publicist comments or some lawyer distorting reality by splitting every hair thrice.

It does not take a rocket scientist to know what happened that night nor that the culprit allgedly is getting away with murder at this time.

Heck, everyone in PBC that refuses to blow or blow’s too high automatically spends the night in jail.

Look at Judge Larbrarga’s Kid in today’s paper…she blew high and went to jail , even after allegedly pleading to be realeased….she hit no one…there was no accident. But she went to jail.

Its incomprehensible that something very sinister is not afoot here……how much money is going to who to bottle this thing up is what people want to know and why they are outraged and should be.

Based on how any other person would be treated……he should probably be locked up and probably bailed out by now….but nothing…no charges….nothing?

SAD is a schill on this board for someone interested in covering up….that’s my guess.

And I do extend my deepest sympathies to both the Wilson and Goodman families.

There is no happy ending here and there is no undoing what has happened.

    We can only learn.

All he had to say to the cops that night was, ” I don’t remember what happened, my head is hurting and I want to talk to my lawyer first”. The cops cannot do anything more than investigate on their own and try to build their own case. Most people writing on here fail to realize this and that the police cannot botch the case by doing something wrong. And yea, he was partying that night, something we all have done, he just did it one time too many and fate caught up with him. I feel bad for everyone involved except the stank skank

If you have your BA level make your arrest. Do the same here that you did with the woman in BOCA where there was no death and the actual driver of the car was questionable.

    God is watching.

Goodman was going quickly out to score cocaine, what else at that time and speed would he be out speeding? Pull his hair folicles straight out of his scalp. The test will confirm John loves the snow. Oops he was also out chasing tail while his gold digger girl friend was out of town. What a mess. How about a quick trip back to Rehab again for thirty or sixty days?
