As University of Central Florida engineering grad Scott Wilson is buried in Wellington today, International Polo Club Palm Beach owner John Goodman, who drove the car that crashed into Wilson’s and killed him, issued this statement through his lawyer’s publicist:

“Words cannot begin to express the depth of sympathy and regret that I and my family wish to convey to the family and friends of Scott Patrick Wilson. My thoughts and prayers are with them, and I sincerely hope the best for them in the difficult days ahead.”

Wilson died about 1 a.m. last Friday when Goodman’s Bentley apparently blew through a stop sign and in rural Wellington and crashed head on into his Hyundai. Palm Beach Sheriff’s deputies are investigating whether Goodman, who broke his wrist in the crash, was DUI.

I would rather he handed the apology to the sherriff and then had himself locked up after admitting he was drunk…then I would believe the apology.

Dont hide behind your lawyers be a good man and take responsibility you coward.

a “sincere” apology thru this freaking lawyers. Hell, can handwrite a VERY SINCERE Thank You the day after being invited to a fun dinner party. This shows that man has NO Class, is hiding behind his lawyers. I heard from the beginning about cocaine involment (again in his life). So by NOT picking up a pen, and writing the Wilson Family how sorry you are for the death (murder) os their son speaks volumns. And don’t say you’re ‘writing wrist’ is broken, I bet you have a secretary or 10 that could pen it for you, and you can still sign. Just another trust fund a-hole, who finally has to grow up the ‘not-so-pretty-way’ at the age of 46. Scott Wilson wasn’t even half that age, and never will be. Maybe Bubba in PB Jail will give John something to really cry about. Time to come clean, Mr Goodman.

Well DAN, I have no reason to hate. I live a very good and Comfordable life. I am not in need of anything. I do however find your point of view sickening. You call a DUI death (Crash Caused by the Drunk Person) an Accident? Your a very sad person and Im not going to further disrupt this forum with negativity out of respect for this young mans life.

  8. Comment by dan — February 20, 2010 @ 2:18 pm

    Okay JoeC

Lets be a tard to understand your thinking.

You called this a DUI death?

Where is the proof? Did PBSO or the p.b.post
    ever mention this????

So now you know you are just hating, please stop!
Back to reality JoeC Say this was you (John G)
Do you want to be judged in the media or get a fair trial?

Dan, Once again Im not going to argue with you in this forum any longer. Its Apparent that you are Mr. Goodmans little brown noser. you guys are probably related. I would say that you work in P.R. and your trying to help out Goodman but your character and intelligence are far too low for that. Have a good day Mr. Dan. I hope someone drinks and drives right into you tonight so we can call that an accident also.

People, please refrain from judging whether the accident was caused by DUI. No one knows at this point what caused this horrible accident on that long and very dark road. I am sure there is hurt and anguish by the driver of the other vehicle that ran the intersection, as well as terrible anguish by the loved ones of this precious young man whose life has been cut short.

Was The Driver even at the scene of the accident? I saw an allegation online that an alleged 911 responder claimed the driver was no where to be found.

The alleged 911 responder also claims that he could see the other car in the canal.

Why would a driver not be at the scene?

If not at the scene….why a driver not be charged with leaving the scene…in the very least.

The source of outrage here….is that information appears to be being withheld or slowed up to the public and also it seems almost unthinkable that the alleged driver is not recieving special treatment…….

If this guy would be charged like anyone else…then people would not be so outraged.

Sympathy and respect to the young man / victim. This is a a tragedy for all involved.

The driver was at the scene.

If you leave the scene of an accident you’ll get 30 years.

    Remember that folks.

The reason the driver has not yet been charged with DUI, or any other serious violation, is the ongoing accident investigation by the AUTHORITIES. Why doesn’t it make sense to wait until the investigation is completed BEFORE all the mud-slinging?

My sincere condolences to victim’s family. Only time will remotely heal their pain.

Mr Wilson’s cause of death was drowning. If John Goodman hadnt been impaired he would have reacted and possibly saved this young mans life.

There is no excuse other than the fact he was intoxicated/impaired and therefore couldnt check on Scott after he plowed him into the canal.

If he wasnt impaired, then he’s just a scumbag.

    RIP Scott
