I am a paralegal so I should know and my daughter was in a car crash on the day of her graduation from high school. The driver was 3 times the legal limit and she is alive, but it could have worked out differently. My prayers go to Scott's parents. The driver is a freak. I suppose he is having a jury trial and, hopefully, they will find it odd that he "adopted" his girlfriend so he can hang onto his $$$. I pray that the judge and jury find his story odd and he hit someone head-on because his driver was off for the night. He only cares about himself and his money. I hope he goes to jail for many years -- after all, he committed vehicular manslaughter. I feel so for Scott's family as this self-absorbed man could have possibly saved his life by calling the police, but he cares too much about himself as he screws his "daughter." Why doesn't it make sense to wait until the investigation is completed BEFORE all the mud-slinging? My sincere condolences to victim's family. Only time will remotely heal their pain. I saw an allegation online that an alleged 911 responder claimed the driver was no where to be found. The alleged 911 responder also claims that he could see the other car in the canal. No one knows at this point what caused this horrible accident on that long and very dark road. I am sure there is hurt and anguish by the driver of the other vehicle that ran the intersection, as well as terrible anguish by the loved ones of this precious young man whose life has been cut short.
