As Page2Live first reported, embattled golfer Tiger Woods has been building this magnificent mansion in Unincorporated Palm Beach, just north of Jupiter, for mom Tida. And here are the first pictures! Woods bought two adjacent properties directly across the Intracoastal from his soon-to-be Jupiter Island residence for $2.4 million in 2007. Now, the cleaned up serial philanderer is plunking down another $2.6 million for construction. Usually a presence in the background only, Tida burst onto the media stage Friday with her long embrace for her son after his televised apology. Mama Tiger then went after the media for treating her son “like a criminal.” She’ll be one of us next year. Click on either picture, or here, for more.

I don’t know tiger woods so i can’t comment on his personal life, but i’m glad he is spending money stimulating the economy. its sad all the uneducated people who comment on this site think that someone building a mansion is a bad thing for the economy. did you attend university of florida? or florida state?
That house isn’t only for one person… the ghost of ol’ Papa Woods will be present I’m sure.
Tiger most likely paid cash for that house. Think about all the people receiving benefit from it… contractors, manufacturers of products going in the home, the county, etc… I would rather see one home on 2 properties PAID FOR than 10 homes on the same amount of land being bought by Americans who decide the banks OWE THEM and default on their loans. Tiger earned every penny. At least he’s not spending his US Dollars in another country! If I had the money I would be taking care of my Mom too.

hey devils advocate - how is providing construction jobs not good for the economy? if rich people don’t spend and trickle down (as mr reagan used to say) the wealth, how else does would a local economy thrive in a capitalist society? i agree it is not healthy to have a national debt in the trillions, but you are confusing micro economics with macro economics - perhaps a bit of schooling would cure your ignorance.

A great boost for our economy plus Mama Tiger will have to employ staff to assist her in maintaining the Estate. I see some permanent jobs coming out of this. Yes it is only “Isolated Growth” it sure beats no growth.

what crime did tiger commit? all he did was commit adultery which is a sin not a crime.the affairs he had were with whores, who were paid well by tiger.let tiger and his wife deal with it.he did nothing to stain his relationship with the pga.he still is the best thing that happened to the pro golf tournament,i hope he comes back soon,because watching golf on tv without tiger is very boring.jtp

I tell you what this is.. you can see where there is a chipping green and a putting green going in in the back of the house.. so whats the story? I bet this was a house that Tiger was having built. He gets caught messing around, so sign it over to mom and say its for her. this way, his future ex-wife doesnt take it in the divorce.
Devil’s Advocate, I don’t know how you think we’re going to get out of our trillion dollar debt if we don’t spend money or aren’t taxed more for what we’re already spending. Let Tiger spend the money on this house that would have more economic benefit and less environmental destruction than the building of 20+ NEW homes at $200,000 a piece.
I’m assuming you’re siding with those home owners who blame the banks for letting them borrow money. Voluntarily defaulting on loans by way of greed is what destroyed this economy not the wealthy spending money.
Growth is NEVER sustainable. Hence this recession and all the ones before it. Money needs to be spent, taxed and circulated through our economy! This isn’t going to get us out of an economic slump but I bet if you live in the area you will indirectly benefit from it.

You are correct, Ok, if you take a mortgage knowing fully well at some point you can’t afford it, then that’s on you, don’t blame the banks, they need to make money, If I were to get a mortgage, you can surely bet it would not be over my head. That’s only for show and keeping up with the Joneses, stick to what you and you alone can do. If you can’t afford the monthly payment then don’t take it, no matter what the bank says, after all, its you that has to pay the loan, not the bank, Have some common sense.

I am a Jupiter/Tequesta native. This part of the town has been untouched for some time and is a piece of how untouched Jupiter is and now was. Horses, cows, land, natural beauty, not another HUGE, non-energy efficient mansion. Reminds me of when MacCarthur sold to Divasta to build Abacoa. All that beatiful land where we use to pick strawberries. For what? More homes, which means more new englanders on our roads, and then demanding we widen A1A and all extend central. This place is now starting to sink and become just another Boca. We live in a beautiful part of the country, lets TRY to keep it that way people. LESS DEVELOPMENT!!!

His money he can do as he pleases, but who ever is advising him should be fired this is a terrible investment he will never recoup.

I am siding on the side of simplicity. Arrogant excess is whats got this country in the pit that its in. She has the exact same house in Jupiter, why does she need another house? He could have built a youth center for kids, that offered positive choices, and enhanced their lives. This is just Tiger being Tiger, arrogant and conceited. Best at golf, most skanks screwed, hugest house for Mom. Come on, give me a break.
