Dr. Bob - You are correct about Lerner, and I appreciate that he’s giving Martin O’Neill a job until Sir Alex Ferguson decides to retire!!! ;o) Seriously, I’m happy Villa are up there challenging to make it “the big five” instead of big four, because Villa have a great history too. Although it looks like they’re just replacing Liverpool in the big four. As for Chelski, that team is just a way for Abramovich to launder his Russian mafia money. If Chelski don’t win the Champions League soon he’ll get bored and just launder his money on race horses or something else.

Tu Madre - you may want to do a little research before running your stupid yap. Beckham is a life long United supporter and still revered by the United faithful. The Glazers took the biggest and wealthiest SPORTS FRANCHISE in the world, yes, even much bigger than the NY Wankees, and turned them into a debt ridden team. They hardly ever show up for games which speaks volumes of their support. As for selling our best players, we bought Ronaldo for 12mil pounds got a few good years out of him then sold him for 80mil pounds. Not a bad return on investment. He wanted to leave or he would never have been sold. I would be hugely surprised if Rooney ever leaves United because he doesn’t want to so they won’t sell him at any price. Besides, United are a better “team’ without Ronaldo because they play as a team and not for Ronaldo.

Another team being destroyed by yanks is Liverpool FC. Man Utd’s fiercest rivals. Yanks should stay out of sports they don’t know squat about, and keep to that stupid game that is 60 minutes long, takes over 3 hours to complete yet only has an average of 10 minutes and 46 seconds of actual ball-in-play time. You know, the game that needs cheerleaders on the sidelines so there’s actually something interesting to watch while the game is on. The game you all call “football” for some unknown reason, which should actually be called “slap my buddy on the arse - runny catchy”

The Brits take footbal (AKA soccor)very seriously, as well they should. MAN U is my team of choice and wathching Rooney and Ronaldo play off each other was like watching a great artist at work. Ronaldo went off to greener monetary pastures at Real Madrid, though, and the show was over. Me thinks Manchester gave him up too easily, as he was still under contract. Don’t know the cause, but all roads might lead to Palm Beach. Seems like an American tradition is in the making. Remember the Marlins and their dispersion after the winningnest season?
