Golfer Greg Norman lists Jupiter Island mansion for $65 mil — again!
Golfer Greg Norman has put his Jupiter Island home on the market again, at the price he couldn’t sell it for in 2008.
Listed for $65 million the ocean-to-Intracoastal property, called Tranquility, is the seventh most expensive house currently on the market in the United States. The first is a $100 million abode in Zephyr Cove, Nevada.
So, what does one get for $65 million?
According to the listing, the nine-bed, 11-bath main house is one of six buildings on the eight-acre property. There’s also a coach house, carriage house and guest house on the ocean. There’s garage space for a total 17 cars, a 50-foot pool, a gym, and docking for a mega-yacht.
The catch: The Martin County property taxes alone will set you back $130,000!

It’s the Great White Shark’s second attempt to sell the crib. As part of the $103 million-divorce settlement he hammered out in 2008 with first wife Laura Andrassy, Norman is supposed to fork over half the proceeds of the sale to the ex. She has since moved to Palm Beach.
“There is indeed a requirement in the divorce settlement that the house be actively marketed,” said Andrassy’s divorce lawyer, West Palm’s Jack Scarola.
With no takers for the house the first time around — even after briefly bringing down the price to $40 million — Norman spent a load of cash sprucing the place up last year. A realtor described the house as “a throwback of the ’80s” before the revamping, which included gutting the inside of the main house and building a tennis court. During construction, the rumour was that Norman, who also has a mansion in the LeLac neighborhood of Boca Raton, was going to move back to Tranquility with new wife Chris Evert, the retired tennis champ.
But the two split last year after 15 months of wedded bliss, and they were divorced in December.
Norman bought Tranquility in 1991 for $4.9 million, according to property records. The Martin County Property Appraiser’s Office estimates its current value at $21.5 million.

for less than $65,000,000, you can find and buy your very own private island.
The Martin County taxes will set you back close to $1,300,000 per year, not $130,000.
The home in Le Lac has been for sale for quite a while as well. It is listed at $7 million, the same price he paid for it back in December of 2006.

#1 Those are low taxes compared to the majority of the estates on JI and PB. Most of the homes purchased in the past five years have assessments with taxes from $175K and UP UP UP! That hog on the northend of the island in PB, Rush Limbaugh, the hog who is now pals with Donald Trump for some odd reason, has a pieced together compound assessed at $ 45M with property taxes exceeding $ 500K. Since he reportedly earns over $ 400M now, one is not worried for his ability to pay. Of more concern is the fact that both he and that Beck nut-job are both enciting violence against our citizens. Perhaps it is time to reign in these unsavory characters. When did the Republicans become the UN-AMERICAN party? SHAMEFUL. There is talk on Palm Beach of running Rush off the island because he is now bringing a rather distasteful crowd along with him.
NEITHER THE MAN OR THE HOUSE LOOK ALL THAT SPECIAL.
He is creepy looking, isn’t he?
His ego will be crushed after the place languishes unsold for another 2 years. House will be lucky to pull 25 million. Tiger spent 38 million for 12 acres with 5 homes. Greg’s piece is only 8 acres and has an old house. The megayacht dockage is questionable since the ICW is only dredged about 50 feet wide that far up. So if you boat needs 6-8 feet of deep water you might be able to get it home but you can’t turn it around in the intracoastal since it is only a 50 ft. channel up there.
House should be torn down and subdivided to make better use of the land. No one wants a used celebrity’s mansion with outrageous taxes. House may have current taxes of 130K but at 65MM the tax roll will shoot up to over 1mm a year!
BTW there are only about 1,000 people in the whole world that can buy a 65MM house! Expect many price drops and a sale price closer to a 1/3 of the asking!
Beautiful home. This is a sad story, though. Ms. Evert can’t hold a man or his house. She broke up her best friend’s marriage. I was so disappointed in Mr. Norman when that happened. What he saw in that run-down former tennis player is a mystery to me.
Now two women are without a husband (Evert deservedly so), and Mr. Norman struck out big time.
According to Wendy Overton, the agent who had the listing previously, the JI home was in such a state of disrepair, it was a slapped-together, pathced-up, teardown. Hmmmmmmmm?
HEY SHARK. I’M CURIOUS, ARE YOU JUST NOT AT ALL INTERESTED IN SELLING THIS PLACE? YOU OBVIOUSLY ARE NOT INTERESTED IN CLOSING ON THIS DEAL…THERE ARE TWO MAJOR FACTORS IN REAL ESTATE, LOCATION AND PRICE. YOU’VE GOT A GREAT LOCATION…AND THE WRONG PRICE. PERHAPS YOU CAN RENT SOME SPACE OUT TO TIGER, I HEAR HE’S NOT WELCOME AT HOME THESE DAYS.
Sara, most of the people living in Palm Beach are distasteful from what I’ve read, so ol’ Rush aughta fit in fine there.
As for Greg, good riddance. He’s a pompous water hog. 65 million? That’s where 2 fools meet, one for asking that much, and the other for paying it.
Good luck with the sale - hope it all works out and you can move on to enjoy the rest of your life!
