Bill O’Reilly helps raise cash in Palm Beach for rape victims’ advocates

Fox News superstar Bill O’Reilly, the non-nonsense host of the top-rated The O’Reilly Factor, preached to the converted Friday night at Palm Beach’s Mar-a-Lago.
In his “State of the Union” talk, the conservative host blasted liberal rival MSNBC, calling it “little” because “eight people watch it.”
Comparing the White House to the Chicago mob, O’Reilly said he hopes for low approval ratings for Pres. Barack Obama because, when that happens, The Factor’s ratings go up.
And he predicted that Republican Mitt Romney would take on Obama in the 2012 presidential elections, with Sarah Palin’s third party candidate siphoning votes from Obama.
But O’Reilly, 60, didn’t really come to talk politics. He came to help shine the limelight on a newbie on Palm Beach’s charity landscape: the It Happened to Alexa Foundation. And it worked. About 400 people paid up to $600 for a photo with O’Reilly, his speech and a steak dinner.

“We know most people are coming for Bill and not really the charity, but that’s okay,” said Alexa’s Boca Raton-based co-founder, Stacey Branchini. “We owe him tremendously because he is putting us on the map.”
The foundation called on O’Reilly for the first time last year, for a luncheon at Mar-a-Lago. At that point, the group was just months from shutting down because of a lack of funds. Now, Branchini said, the non-profit is doing much better.
The foundation was created to help victims of rapes cope emotionally with the trial. Statistics show a much higher rate of rapist convictions when women are supported emotionally and financially by the Alexa Foundation. The name refers to Branchini’s daughter, Alexa, the victim of a brutal rape in her Boston college dorm in 1999.
O’Reilly, meanwhile, spent Friday afternoon at Roger Dean Stadium to hang with friend, New York Mets manager Omar Minaya, whose team was taking on the Florida Marlins.
So, why is he helping out?

“Because nobody else helps crime victims in the United States, crime victims are underrepresented,” O’Reilly told Page2Live.
Also at the wingding was New Orleans Saints fullback Heath Evans, a product of West Palm Beach’s Kings Academy. In the off season, Evans lives with his family at Steeplechase in Palm Beach Gardens. Evans said the cause of the Alexa Foundation is dear to his heart. His Heath Evans Foundation also deals with the sexual abuse, of children.
“My wife was sexually abused in the third grade,” Evans said. “If I can help these guys (Alexa), everybody benefits.”
I don’t care what Bill raised money for he’s still a loser and not a good guy.

The above comments don’t realize but their unecessary name calling reverts right back to themselves. They are the losers, racists and they are assisting the downward drift of this nation. Bill has one of the best reputations for integrity in the business- you can count on his reporting and you know he has honesty on his side. If you refute his arguments- please back them up with facts. Anyone who dislikes him is usually threatned by him. He is a good man- his side proceeds go to charities much of the time and he has only shaken up the news industry because he has the right frame of mind- balance. This article calling him a conservative is the only lie.

As a rape victim myself, I feel that I am very qualified to weigh in on Bill O’Reilly’s being at this event. I am OUTRAGED that the planners of this were so narrow minded to have a man who left horrible and overtly sexual voice messages to his assistant and then, of course, tried to deney it. This man may be “all that” and may “speak the truth” as far as many of you are concerned, but to someone like myself who has experienced the true horror of a monster who has total “power over” you this man is just another pig. There was no reason in the world that he had to bring his “hate speech” politics into this arena. But then again what do expect from someone who will do or say anything to keep his job!!. He could care less about anyone who has been raped, since he is a vertual rapist himself!
Tell me why the media was so willing to write about O’Rielly doing “his” thing for rape victims when this is the same guy who had to settle for what was likely a significant amount of money on a sexual harrassment suit which arose out of his work environment in 2004. While I firmly agree with repentance and forgiveness–Billy Boy did neither in this case and the details of his actions contained claims of significant lewd behavior! Why in the name of all that is civil he is now invited to “help” rape victims is beyond me…unless this is his repentance and he did it for no pay and at his own expense (chuckle).
