There’s a new water recreation area in these parts, right on time for splash season!
Well, don’t abandon Rapids Water Park just yet.
This one’s private. As in, only a handful of people will ever enjoy it!
It’s extravagant Canadian songbird Celine Dion’s new backyard in the chi-chi Martin County enclave of Jupiter Island, a place that’s also home to golfers Tiger Woods and Greg Norman.

As Page2Live revealed exclusively in November, La Dion had dug six wells in the dunes on her $12 million-beachfront property to pour water into a slide, a lazy river and not just one, but two Olympic sized pools. One of the two is supposed to create it’s own waves, sorta like the ocean a few feet to the east.
And now that everything’s filled up with enough water to float the Titanic, I’m told the singer of My Heart Will Go On, her elderly husband Rene Angelil and young son, Rene-Charles, could be moved in by summer’s end.

In 2008, Dion was branded a water hog as South Florida crawled through a drought that had authorities slap water restrictions on the small suburban fry. Dion was found to be the heaviest user of drinking water even though construction on Jupiter Island was just starting. Stats obtained then by The Palm Beach Post showed that more than 6.5 million gallons flowed through her land that year. She blamed it on a broken pipe but it’s clear a portion went to watering new sod and trees.
The singer’s pools and river and slide, however, will be filled with underground water, purified with a reverse osmosis system, according to county records.
Dion is scheduled to return to Caesars Palace in Las Vegas in March for another three-year gig.

I am concerned Celine’s elderly husband Rene is going to fall and break his hip trying to keep up with his kid on those rides.
Celine Dion has an enormous carbon footprint and she is disrupting critical wildlife habitat with this monument to self-indulgent excess.
So what if Celine Dion built a nice pool and some pool accessories. She did a great job. If this makes her happy what business is it of ours. If the flicker of fame blessed anyone of us with it’s microscopic eye, we come out looking half as good as Celine and hubby.
The economy, housing and jobs are a bust for lots of people here here. Celine spends cash, creates jobs and has fun. Bravo to Celine.
Amen to comment #5. When you buy property and you own it, as long as you have the permission of the city to build something like that I don’t see what the big deal is. People just hate all the time, because they want what they don’t have. Everyone’s always more worried about other people rather than themselves. If the shoe was on the other foot don’t tell me that half of you wouldn’t have done the same thing.
I see a new revenue source…. water surcharge/luxury tax for obscenely wasteful uses of the precious resource known as WATER. I’m not talking about Joe Homeowner with a pool and sauna/hot tub. But an F’n water park feature???? Send her tone deaf a$$ back to Canada.
None of our business what she spends her money on…it’s a lot nicer than the above ground pools, outdoor trampolines, oil-leaking trucks on blocks and rusty old bass boats I see plenty of in peoples gardens in s fl.

It is her money to do as she pleases. If it is not against zoning, who should care? Are you just jealous she has this luxury life that she has earned? Just because you may not like her (Such as I), does not mean you can bash what is legally, righfully and all hers! She is entitled to a family home to do as she sees fit for her family, regardless. She pays taxes. She pays her water bill. Enjoy the swim, Celine and family.

She can do whatever she wants with her money, just like my neighbor has been watering his lawn every day since we went on water restrictions over two years ago. Every single day their water sprinklers go off from about 4-6 a.m. It’s funny too, the city workers must be blind beacause their lawn is so perfect you would think it’s fake. It in lake worth, just down the street North of Barton Elementary school right at the stop sign. It is a two day restriction for wating their lawn and they do it every day and have done it every single morning when I go to work. Hey city workers drive around and even open your eyes and you know they water every day. It’s the guy who owns the trailer park next door and does tattoos. He has a big tattoo traveling trailer on his lot.
Jupiter Zoning Board:
Where is the zoning board and the Mayor? We should name them all.
Zoning board needs to set up some very strict guidelines and zoning laws for Jupiter. How can this community be valued by both our children and Jupiter residents in the future years when this lack of zoning allows anything behind a house.
What is next behind the home an alligator farm or a strip joint for the few private quests to attend?
Celine was very talented and has made a great mark on the music world. I have attended many of her shows and purchased her cds.
However, if she is wearing this profile photo at any recent concerts she has lossed it! She does not have the looks and/or profile to carry off the look without looking exceptionally cheap! I don’t believe that is the image she wanted to portray. And, or maybe I am wrong! Quess she might want to be a Cougar but not in disguise while living in Jupiter.
I might have thought she would had been tired of the Las Vegas scene which she now has brought to her backyard in Jupiter. Hopefully, she will make her backyard swim park available at least 2 times a month to the many children in Palm Beach Couny at no cost.
Her success is due to the many parents who have attended her concerts and records.
The old-fashion cook-outs that we all enjoyed in the community must no longer exist in her neighborhood now. It appears that there has been a lack of zoning and/or zoning laws need to restrict what is built in the back yards in the future.

Did you see the part where it says “will be filled with underground water” … that means the aquifer. The same aquifer everyone else’s wells go into.
Doesn’t matter if its “her” well … the water comes from the aquifer and there is only a finite amount. What most people don’t realize is that during the worst of the drought, the SFWMD was really afraid of salt-water intrusion would permanently make the aquifer non-potable.
That is cool. So what! All you jealous haters need to get a life. Hey, she has earned her money and can to do whatever she wants including installing a water park in her backyard. Maybe she will need a couple of lifeguards and groundskeeepers, so some of you that are unemployed may want to send her your resume. Just a thought!

I have no problem with Celine spending her money on whatever she wants as long as it doesn’t impact the rest of us. The problem is this type of water waste, water that comes from the same source as our drinking water, does impact the rest of us. There is a limited amount of water available in So. Fla. a private individual or company should not be permitted to use an excessive amount.

Looks like a fun place for the kids, alright, although with all the resources, why not include a wave maker that can simulate swimming in a rip current or dial up for surfing. And what’s up with the reflecting pool or whatever in front? Seems rather redundant and even tacky to spoil the ocean view/environment, but then I suppose when you’re that wealthy you don’t have concern yourself with such issues as conservation and respect for the environment.
I always thought she was one ugly lady myself so the old guy is fitting for someone that ugly. And her voice to me has never been anything special she always reminded me a little of Cher but Cher just got better looking with age. Her building this however is her business I guess she just fits into the same class all the other top celebrities have with blowing money. Maybe she just plans on spending a great deal of time at home. And without us knowing what it feels like to have that much money then who knows what we might also build. Obviously, no one has the right to tell someone what to do with their money if it effects no one. For those of you who think, oh, that’s great if she wants a water park in her yard, I would do it to and you have no right to tell her if she should- it isn’t about “being jealous” for those of us who understand the environmental repercussions. See, if one person with a lot of money (and there are obviously enough people with money burning a hole in their pocket out there) can do this, it could very well start a trend and even a showdown (rich people love to have their rich friends over and show off their latest cool stuff and then their friends do it right back.. trust me on this but this is still besides the ultimate point)
If we had an endless supply of water, fine, no biggie. Thing is, especially in Florida where they are close to the site of the OIL SPILL where fresh untainted water will soon become a precious item, this is not as harmless as it seems. The sheer amount of energy and water this takes for the small amount of people there means this actually is very irresponsible. If you think of the world as a giant blanket and everyone all over the world is holding a piece of it, tugging it against the resistence of all the other people tugging at it, you will understand. Each person must realize their impact and make attempts at being conservative with the resources as they are limited. We create our own destiny and we can destroy life on Earth if we all keep using resources in great excess of our needs.

Too many people are mad at or jealous of Celine Dion for whatever reason they want to give, because she built a private water park next to her mansion with her hard-earned money.
However, while this project was in progress all of the complainers did have an opportunity to disagree with the Celine Dion, her architect and Building and Zoning, but failed to do so. Now, these complainers are coming out of the woodwork, and that is simply not fair.
Therefore, before anyone complains any more about Celine Dion complain first to Building and Zoning, then complain to the architect and then, if you have any energy left, complain to or about Celine Dion, in that order.
