Palm Beach-based reality TV aims to bring socialite drama to national audience

Parts of a pilot for a Real Housewives-style reality TV series starring well-known local women was shot in the Palm Beach mansion of socialite Tiffany Cloutier this week.
And if the yet-to-be-titled series ever gets picked up by a network — trust me on this one — it will become must-see-TV.
As of now, the producers are casting two groups of well-heeled, well-married middle-aged women. One group is from Palm Beach, and the other from the Palm Beach Gardens-Jupiter area.
Call it the queen bees vs. the wannabes!
Disgraced former U. S. Congressman Mark Foley was filmed also. His role in the series is unclear.

Here’s the Palm Beach roster:
– Tiffany Cloutier, the young wife of business and major Democratic Party supporter George Cloutier. A former nurse, Tiffany organizes the occasional Palm Beach charity gala and often opens the couple’s homes to Democratic big wigs like Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi
– Lori Stoll, the widow of former concert promoter Jon Stoll. Lori is also active on the charity gala scene, although her husband’s unexpected death in the wake of a stroke made her less visible on the circuit
Haryman
– Sara Haryman, a member of Palm Beach’s inner circle. Haryman is the best friend of sitcom actor Charlie Sheen’s mother-in-law, Moira Fiore. Haryman is also known for her moving into the heart of respected real estate investor Gerard Haryman too soon after his wife, Carol Martino, died of cancer
And the north county types:
– Phyllis Tobias, the widow of former CNBC analyst Seth Tobias. A psychic accused Phyllis of killing Seth when he turned up dead in his pool in Jupiter. She was never charged and the death was deemed accidental.

– Lanell Fagan, a shoe designer whose divorce from former SunFest President Greg Fagan made news. In 2007, cops responded to the couple’s Palm Beach Gardens home after she allegedly slugged Greg with a picture frame. The two are officially divorced now.
– Dr. Susan Christiansen, psychologist and wife of high-profile divorce lawyer John Christiansen. The couple is from North Palm Beach.
– Lisa Emalfarb, wife of a Jupiter chemist who invented a lucrative enzyme process to make jeans look like they were stone-washed.

– Janet Steinger, a Palm Beach Gardens resident who was Cloutier’s maid-of-honor when Tiffany was hitched to George Cloutier on New Year’s Eve 2008.
I’m told a film crew with Atlanta’s Ageless Entertainment spent most of Monday afternoon filming the ladies interacting with each other.
And already, several storylines have emerged.
For example, some of the women in Palm Beach made a point not to invite their north county counterparts for the wine-and-cheese filming in Palm Beach. The camera crew then had to schlep up north to tape Tobias and friends.

“Lori (Stoll) used to be friends with Lanell, but they had a falling out,” one insider tells me. “So, they didn’t want Lanell at Tiffany’s house.”
Still, someone crashed!
“But Lanell showed up anyway,” the insider said. “I don’t know if they caught that on tape, but there was an icy silence when Lanell walked in.”
Sounds like high school, right? Well, that’s what passes for great television these days.

“I think we can give a positive outlook on Palm Beach,” one potential cast member said. “We’re all real people.”

so, this is going to be interesting. i have seen the palm beach island ladies around but the true crazy one is lori stoll. that women is insane. i have babysat for her twice and NEVER again.

that we have been exposed to in the past. I feel that the only redeemable person who may elevate this type of show could possibly be the reserved Dr. Susan Christiansen.

Susie (Dr. Susan Christansen) and Phyllis Tobias (F/K/A Mrs. Jay Jacknin) used to be best friends. Susie and Phil were inseparable when their husbands practiced law together.(They were each former clients of Christensen and Jacknin P.A. a hot shot divorce firm) But the pair broke up long ago. Or did they? And Christensen and Jacknin PA recently split, after over 20 years as a law frim. The plot thikens.
There should be a show called Riches to Rags that shows the easy come easy go lifestlyes of the fools in Palm Beach like Bob and Mia Matthews! Tiffany and George are also going down the same path - spending way more money than they should be just for the attention. See how long these women stick around when the millions are gone. The show should also include these Palm Beach divorcees who bag $5 million then blow it in 2 years and then try to sell real estate in town to meet another rich man.
Who are these women? Has class just gone by the wayside? It is a good reminder that money does not buy class.

I doubt this show will go anywhere. No one would be interested in these women. Average looks, and non famous husbands will not sell commercial space. Who cares if these women spend $2000 on a pair of shoes? Where is the intrigue? They do nothing all day but go to the clubs and get their nails done. BORING. Jenna - I also live in Palm Beach and know all about these people. And no, I am not jealous. I would much rather be in my $1,500,000 north end bungalow with my gorgeous young husband, than with some disgusting old man who only wants me for sex and PR image. These (PB) women have empty lives, alcohol problems, and their marriages are not emotionally fulfilling. Plus, its alway better to have room service when my husband takes me to Aspen and New York. You should not be star struck by someone just because they have a mansion on the ocean or a private plane. If any ofv these women had any classthey would do a truthful documentary on their lifestyle.

I have known Lori for years. She is a very sweet and loving mother, friend and donates much of her time and money to charity. She is NOT a golddigger and comes from a very nice family… she was and still is devastated by her husbands death. I only hope she does not read these comments because they are shameful and untrue.
The lack of morals certainly shows with many of the defending comments on this blog. The obvious attitude from some posters that the end all and be all is to have multiple mansions, homes all over the country, servents, and private jets etc. So be it if a girl has to plasticize herself to marry a much much older man she does not even love to have this lifestyle. It amazes me that this attitude that is so previlent in South Florida is acceptable. It really makes me sick. I know of successful doctors who get turned down because these women dont think a half million a year lifestlye is enough for them. Its really sad.
None are members of the Everglades Club so they really dont count. Anyone can buy a home on the island, or buy a ticket to an event. Anyone! That is not society. What people need to realize is that these women are NOT giving THIER money to the charities. It is their husbands money, who only do it for the tax benefits. None of these women are truly interested in helping people. They just want their pictures in the Shiney Sheet and in Palm Beach Society. Only about 10% of any money that gets raised actually goes to the charity anyhow. If anyoe thinks these women are making a contribution to society they are wrong. The only people they are supporting are the plastic surgons, and day spas.

These women are disgusting. Its hard to believe that with all the tabloid trash that has recently been coming to PB, that someone would even have interest in these ladies. The real story should be about how these golddiggers manage to catch their prey. It is beyond me why these men do not marry someone at their own level. Rush Limbaugh is a prime example. What was that guy thinking? He’ll be burned once again in divorce #5 and $25 million poorer.
Trumps current wife is working on a reality show also. Everyone wants to be a famous T.V. star. You would think their money would be enough to make them happy. It obviously isn’t.
What MONEY? None of these people are big money. They are mediocre financially. None are big funraisers for the charities.They are not a part of the good clubs. None were debutants or went to good prep schools. Their interiors are not pretty or tasteful. These people just dont count.

What proper, elegent ladies are left on the island? Herme De Wyman Miro and Gertrude Maxwell are the only ones I can think of and they are both in their 90’s. When they die, true Palm Beach society will be go into total extinction. Just 20 years ago you would walk Worth Ave at night and see men in their top hats and the women in beautiful gowns and furs. Today all you see are these trashy women with their silicone hanging out, bleached blonde hair, and the stupid trust fund babies who parade them around. The show is going to be about Real Housewives who make positive things happen in the Palm Beaches….it’s about Mothers, Wives, Business Owners, etc who give back to their Communities. These women were approached based on how much they have given back to their communities….the more you see their names and faces all over Google, the more they have given to charity…if you have not figured it out yet-only people who donate money get their faces in the Shiny Sheet. The Palm Beach “Real Housewives” are going to put the other “Real Housewives” to shame…so everybody: Lighten Up! This could be a GREAT Positive image for Palm Beach…you do not have to think they are pretty…but, know they are beautiful on the inside and THAT’s what really matters!

I know there is such a thing as freedom of speech, however, some of you are taking your freedom a little too far. I can’t believe what I am reading about these women involved in the production of this show. It is so mean to say all these awful things about someone, not to mention hurtful. Obviously, it is only the opinion of the individual saying these dreadful comments, however, it doesn’t mean they have any merit. The show hasn’t even aired yet and who’s to say it ever will. In the meantime,what ever happened to treat people the way in which you want to be treated and don’t say anything about anyone that might come back to bite you later on. Why can’t we all get along, be nice an keep our derogatory remarks to ourselves.
If this show ever airs, these women (and their friends and families) had better be prepared for tons of comments like these ….and much worse , to fill the internet and the airwaves. If it’s attention they seek, it’s attention they’ll get… though likely not the favorable kind they’re envisioning. Judging by the number of emotional responses here, it appears there would definitely be interest enough for a sizable tune-in audience.

Hey, many of us in Atlanta think we would love to be entertained by this group of interesting PB women! They are strangers to us - therefore, interesting and edgy - Television is all about keeping people entertained so why not add PB to this mix? It has to be more interesting than Jersey….and we are burnt out on our own Housewives of Atl….
I agree that some of these ladies are not that much to look at, but Dr. Susan Christiansen and Sara Haryman, WOW, they are GORGEOUS!!! I’d tune in to Bravo just to watch them!
I don’t know why any of these women would want to put their lives on TV for public consumption. Locals are aware of the murder, cheating on spouses and gold digging many of these women have engaged in now the whole world will know. Why?? Not to mention most of them look like they’ve seen the plastic surgeon one too many times. Why would you want to open yourself up to the horrible comments hurled at them. How on earth could some of these comments come about from a show that has never aired and women you don’t know? Sounds like some of you are choking on a sour grape! I have the honor to know Sara Ayres Haryman for many years. She is a wonderful friend, fantastic mother, a true Southern Belle in the best sense. And yes, she is a Trophy Wife. A trophy wife is someone who loves and supports her husband and creates a beautiful life experience for him, and just happens to put in the effort to stay fit and sexy. I’m sure Gerard is very proud of her and for good reason. Sara is fun, beautiful and inspirational. If this show happens it will only be one more fun and interesting thing in her fabulous life.
I know most of these women on a personal basis and I can tell you that although they are all unique in there own right … But to put down a widow if a man who may have had his addictions and issues is pathetic !!!! Filomena is a great friend and amazing person who is generous and gives from her heart .. She is a great mother and loved her husband and family with every ounce of her being !!! Last time I checked, why would a 30 year old marry a man 25+ years older? Is it the stimulating conversation, his children from his first marriage or the great sex via a little blue pill? As a resident of northen PB county, I am mortified by the idea of this show and what this are has turned into. So pathetic.

You put yourself out there to be judged then you’ll be judged. To comments 79 and 80, they are right. Some of these women have had a lot of negative press already and it’s out there for people to jump on and exploit, true or not. Run ladies, run.
Jose, you did not continue your research. Just got wind that a handful of other gals are being pushed for the show, including the trophy wife of a top gun lawyer who drives in a white bentley and a wife of a long and well known business man. Lovely gals, big hearts…hope they say no.

Its amazing that people are idolizing these women just because they are wealthy through their husbands bank accounts. I won’t name names, but one of these women was a well known hussy on the prowel for a rich man for years between her day job and her late night shifts at Cheetahs. She did not have the looks to grab a young trust funder, so she settled for one of the most un-attractive older men on the island. This guy could not even get a date other than escort girls before. Easy prey. I am not surprized she didn’t get pregnant yet. Her plastic surgeon will have to be at the birth!

I think that this is a sensational idea for a program. All the ingredients for success are here. Beautiful women, incredible homes and location scenery, interest in charity and philanthropic work to boot.
The question is do these sophisticated ladies have the spunk, the edge to keep viewers hooked? I think that they probably do. I’ll be watching.
I agree. My friends father met a woman and had a brief discression with her. Almost a year later, she contacted him at work and told him that she was with child. Made it sound so innocent. He is in his late 70’s and she well let’s just say after a new face, boobs, lipo on just about every part of her body and the latest tightning procedure done in the southern vicinity isn’t. Living high on the hog…. No pun intended.

LORI is an amazing person who is going through a hard time with the loss of her husband. LISA is super sweet and a great mother and is willing to help anyone. oh and DR. susan christiansen just passed her state board exam with flying colors and graduated from nova university and got her PHD. less than 1% of women in the united states gets their PHD. dont talk shit if you cant handle the truth about these amazing women
I’ve read some of the Comments everyone has posted… For, those of you that said we do not know the people of the “Island”, as you call it… Yes, while visiting i met some truly remarkable people… However, the Youth on the Island along, with the Officers all, seemed, to have a sense of Entitlement and, were quite Snotting… Just coming from someone who has lived here all of her live… Now, for that one person that said The Island People, are like anyone else… That statement, in it’s self… Say’s, everything… So, i guess we will have yet, another Show, for and about the Wealthy… Hmmmm… I think i’m good… ;)~!
