Feds to Palm Beach perv Jeffrey Epstein: Not so fast!
Authorities may not be done with millionaire sexual deviant Jeffrey Epstein after all.
Epstein, 57, who recently fulfilled all the requirements of his slap-on-the-wrist sentence for diddling underage girls in his Palm Beach mansion, may be under investigation for other sex crimes, including child trafficking.
And this time, Epstein would be facing the federales — and 20 years in prison!
According to The Daily Beast, the feds are also checking whether a modeling agency run by a friend of the Wall Street investor Epstein fed his appetite for underage foreign girls. Epstein was known to fly young women from Eastern Europe to Palm Beach.
Because of double jeopardy rules Epstein — now a registered Florida sex offender — can never be prosecuted again for crimes covered by the state charges. He pleaded guilty to felony solicitation of prostitution and procuring a person under 18 for prostitution, also a felony.
Child trafficking, however, would offer two advantages to federal prosecutors: The charge would not be covered by double jeopardy; and there’s no statute of limitation!

A Bill Clinton crony who once walked out of a deposition when questions about the shape of his penis arose, Epstein felt some heat from federal prosecutors early on his case, in 2007. The US Department of Justice came in after former Palm Beach Police Chief Michael Reiter, whose cops spent more than a year investigating Epstein, complained that the then-State Attorney Barry Krischer wasn’t aggressive enough in his prosecution of the millionaire.
But Epstein hired a dream team of lawyers, including Harvard prof Alan Dershowitz and Whitewater prosecutor Ken Starr, who warded off federal authorities.
As punishment for his guilty pleas, Epstein served a year in a county lockup (but only at night, since he got to go to his office every morning) and a year on probation that included trips to the Caribbean.

I am tired of doing the proofreading. Deviate is a verb. I believe you really want to say “sexual deviant”. Now hurry up and change it so that all your more literate commenters can lambast me for not being able to read.
I am glad the Feds are after the creep!
How about “a modeling agency “ran” by a friend”?
jaded….we are tired of reading your grammer garbage and no one cares…
jose conveys the message just fine.
this dude seems creepy and what if he did not have money…would he be spending “nights only” in jail.
But he paid of a tribe of lawyers and got what goes for “Justice” in corruption county.
This Sick Predator should be stripped of his US Citizenship and placed in a cage on Gitmo.
“But Epstein’s gathering of a dream team of lawyers” should be “But Epstein gathered a dream team of lawyers” - to ward off federal authorities.
I could give a crap about the “grammar” the essence of the story came through loud and clear- we ought to be cheering in the streets because you cannot “befriend” the Feds the way he did the local yocals. As far as the article in today’s Post re: his attorneys allowing the medical evidence to be released-who the hell are they kidding- its part of the discovery process. He can hire what he calls “dream team” but if I remember correctly- Ken Starr is the one who was involved in the Monicagate debacle which I also remember he didn’t shine like a star as Epstein may think he had. All that money and no sense.
Your right, we shouldn’t care about grammar only the “essence”. No wonder our youth (education wise) are in the shape they are in. Keep up those expectations!!!!!
A pedophile is a pedophile, regardless of socio/economic status. By all counts, this man fits that description. I love this country, and I pray that money won’t buy Epstein’s way out of this.
joe can’t spell “grammar” and half pint can’t spell “yokel”. But they get the essence, so they must be smart. So I guess grammer sux. So does spellin and all that elitist educated “crap”. I would like to have a literate source for local news myself. And an educated population.
Jaded…we do it (mispell, misplace grammar) to taunt Ninnies like you…:)
I am actually wondering if the Post couldn’t afford to hire a high school student part time to proof read. Or maybe offer an internship. It has gotten so bad that it is almost unreadable (for some of us), and causes me to think the articles have no credibility as well. I doubt that Jose writes that badly.
lol. Good save, joe. My cat does that when she falls off the table and pretends she meant to do that.
Former State Attorney Barry Krisher gave Epstein a dream. Work during the day and then sleep at night in the stockade. Glad Krisher ‘retired’, but Sheriff Bradshaw ‘hired’ him for ‘advice’.
Now, we’ve got another wimpy boy as SA, Michael McAuliffe. They’ll prosecute and do a full blown trial for someone who left animals in an apt, but someone who is a sexual predator gets a slide. They’re running scared when they see the big hired guns.
We’ve got a wimpy sheriff, a former SA who works for the sheriff and is a wimp and now another weak SA.
The citizens ask that panhandlers be removed from medians, the answer…let’s ‘educate’ the public.
They want money, money, money from the public but refuse to help us.
They patrol the areas where THEY live, but will let other neighborhoods get lower response. It’s all about them and their needs and not the public.
They only protect themselves and their brethern. Time to get the local yokels out as sheriff and state attorney.
When you keep electing the same old people and their handpicked candidates you get an embedded mentality that ignors the public and ministers to themselves. They develop a kingdom and they rule.
time to change in the sheriff’s department and in the State Attorney’s office. Tired of these ‘guys’.
P e r v ! Period.
Not only did he get to leave jail 7 days a week he did’nt have to be back til 11:30pm he also had a computer in his cell and an excercise bike. I think sentence he got was BS. That goes to show when you have money you get off Scott Free.Instead the State Att. office would rather send a 16 year old who has never been in trouble a day in his life to prison charged as an adult for looking at girls his own age on the computer. This childs life will never be the same. He’s been called a baby raper in prison when he never touched anyone and never would. I hope for the states sake Epstein does’nt do anything like this again because they would really looks like the dumb idiots they are.
I’ll bet the deputies who were on contract assignment to “guard” him when he work to “work” daily would have some interesting stories to tell if under subpoena. All of the parties involved in allowing his plea and jail-time arrangements should be jailed themselves for malfeasance.
Jeffrey Epstein is the worst kind of scum on the planet. A man with no heart or soul in the least. Simply a predator.
Unfortunate that he is a RICH predator - easier to victimize with a bottomless wallet.
On a personal level I despise the man for not only what is known to all about him, but for an action that he chose to take: An ex math student of Jeffrey’s is a friend of mine. She has battled cancer for 4 years and is currently in need of a life saving/altering surgery, cost $50K. As she has been supportive of Epstein and remained on friendly terms, she asked him for help. (Maybe a chance to get some GOOD karma). He became evasive and later flatly denied. This man is the devil. Put him away in hell, Federales!
How is the current State Atty getting blamed for the easy deal by the former State Atty????
Jose, why no comments allowed on the James story? Was that stipulated in the advertising agreement she signed with you? I hope you didn’t accept a hummer as an incentive to advertise her appearance. That skank has fleas nesting in her crotch and canker sores thriving in her mouth.
Jose Lambiet writes that “because of double jeopardy rules, Epstein–now a registered Florida sex offender–can never be prosecuted again for crimes covered by the state charges.” Being a criminal defense attorney, I would like to point out that this is not so. In United States v. Lanza, the Supreme Court ruled that double jeopardy does not preclude federal and state prosecution for the same offense. “An act denounced as a crime by both national and state sovereignties is an offense against the peace and dignity of both and may be punished by each.”–Supreme Court case: United States v. Lanza, 43 S. Ct. 141 (1922). This was later extended to allow for deouble jeopardy to occur when two different states were bringing the charges (Heath v. Alabama, 106 S. Ct. 433, 437-438 (1985)).
Where are the pix of his egg shaped doo hickey? Someone must have a picture….or how about a drawing of the “Egg Man”. Can’t get that Beatles song out of my head….”he is the egg man…”
Did anyone notice this pervert at Chelsea’s wedding?
This jerk tried to attack me in 1996, there’s a police report on file at santa monica police department.
