While SunFest officials have traditionally been close-mouthed early about the lineup of the yearly downtown West Palm Beach music extravaganza, the advance buzz has been particularly loud this year.

Thank the Internet for that!

Legendary axman Jeff Beck’s website posted this month that he signed up for an appearance at SunFest on May 1, the festival’s last day.

Things kick off April 27.

A long ago member of The Yardbirds (like other guitar gods Eric Clapton and Jimmy Page), the 66-year-old Beck  is considered one of the greatest guitarists ever. He’s a member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame after playing on albums by Mick Jagger, ZZ Top and Cindy Lauper, among dozens of others.

And two feel-good bands also have announced they’ll be in West Palm that weekend.

The mellow folk-pop sound of the 1990s alternative group Toad The Wet Sprocket (All I Want, Walk on the Ocean) is slated to ring out on Flagler April 30.

The classic disco band Earth, Wind & Fire (Shining Star, Got to Get You Into My Life), meanwhile, is scheduled for May 1. The group also joined the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

SunFest, by the way, is scheduled to announce its 2011 lineup Thursday morning on its Facebook page.

The Tonight Show’s Jay Leno (above) had ‘em in stitches and rookie U.S. Rep. Allen West, the Conservative Republicans’ new golden child (above), got plenty attention while making face time with rich donors at what could end up being the social season’s biggest fund-raising gala, Saturday night at the Boca Raton Resort.

Nearly 1,100 supporters of the Boys & Girls Club of Broward County packed the main ballroom for the Concours D’Elegance’s black-tie, which celebrated the 100th anniversary of the Indianapolis 500. And former Miami Dolphins majority owner H. Wayne Huizenga (below, with Jay), the founder of the AutoNation super dealerships, was honored for his contribution to the car biz.

Among the guests: Three-time Indy winner and former Dancing With The Stars champ Helio Castroneves; two-time Indy winner Al Unser Jr.; Latin crooner Jon Secada; and car dealer Rick Case. (Click for Mike Jachles’ 50-photo event gallery)

The gala was part of the weekend-long Concours, which also included Sunday’s collector car show judged by Leno. Leno himself is a well-known collector whose garage is stuffed with more than 100 classic cars, even if he told Page2Live last week that he was through buying — for a while!

With a beefy bodyguard in tow, Houston millionaire trust-funder John Goodman (above, with his arm raised next to an unidentified family member) has started to re-appear at his polo club in Wellington.

Goodman, 47, is facing trial on charges of DUI manslaughter and vehicular homicide in last February’s death of 23-year-old engineer Scott Wilson.

Goodman, who could be sent to prison for 30 years after a trial expected in the spring, disappeared from public view most of last polo season and was holed up in fancy Miami Beach hotels.

This season, however, he’s been spotted catching some of the action at his International Polo Club Palm Beach. He even posed for photos with tennis champ Serena Williams on a recent Sunday.

An attorney for Wilson’s parents wasn’t amused when he saw the pictures.

“While Mr. Goodman is free on bail attending polo matches and continuing to wine and dine the rich and famous,” said attorney Scott Smith, “Mr. and Mrs. Wilson continue to suffer from the loss of their only son.”

EXCLUSIVE: Ex-U.S. Rep. Mark Foley wants WRMF

While it’s no secret that the owners of West Palm Beach radio station WRMF-97.9 FM is quietly trying to unload the station, the name of one of the suitors will surprise many.

Page2Live hears that former U. S. Rep. Mark Foley has been doing due diligence and discussed the station’s purchase with principals at Great Hills Partners, the Boston-based equity firm that has owned WRMF for nine years.

Foley, who resigned from Congress in 2006 following a text-message scandal, just came into some cash last week as the deal he brokered for the sale of First Bank of Indiantown for $11.8 million closed.

Foley’s also been dabbling in real estate, and owns a consignment store in West Palm.

And Foley already is in radio. He currently hosts his own political talk show on WSVU-Seaview 960 AM.

“I can’t confirm or deny that I’m looking at WRMF,” Foley said. “I’m looking at a host of business opportunities. I have a show and I’ve always been interested in radio.”

Cedric Dupont’s new anchor on West Palm Beach’s Antique Row boasts $20 million in fine stuff

West Palm Beach’s Antique Row got a lot richer this week with the grand opening of the new, 20,000-square-foot Cedric Dupont Antiques.

Owner Cedric Dupont, 35, designed the two-story superstore at the corner of South Dixie and El Vedado, including details like the moldings, in two different themes. He gave the downstairs a French chateau feel with limestone walls and floors while the upstairs has a elegant, formal Parisian look with its fine oak parquet. Between the two is a staircase that looks like it could be in a Palm Beach mansion.

The new place is a far cry from Dupont’s cramped old store downtown West Palm, from there he moved 41 truck-loads to the new place.
