Tiger Woods‘ secret divorce settlement may be so expensive that he had to mortgage his home to pay for it!

Official records that just popped up in Martin County hint that Woods will have to pay ex-wife Elin Nordegren $54 million by January 2016 — or risk losing the house he spent five years building.

How do I know?

The philandering club-swinger took out a $54 million mortgage Wednesday, two days after his quickie divorce was finalized in Panama City Aug. 23.

The mortgage holder, according to the records, is a shadowy company with no apparent capital, JRD Florida Ventures LLC. And the corporation’s registered agent is none other than one of his former wife’s six divorce lawyers, Dennis Belcher.

Woods, the mortgage shows, used the Jupiter Island property, Sand Turtle, to secure the loan — which means that Nordegren could end up with that Motel 6-style crib if he doesn’t pay up.

The document was notarized by Tom Sasser, Woods’ West Palm Beach-based divorce attorney.

Our cousins to the north have done what Americans have been incapable of doing for years: They shut Ann Coulter up!

The Palm Beach-based GOP dragon lady is in Canada this week for three speaking engagements.

One, at the University of Ottawa last night, was canceled over fears for her safety!

Protesters were angered by her previous appearance, Monday at the University of Western Ontario in London, where Coulter told a Muslim student to “take a camel” instead of a flying carpet as a method of transportation.

According to Canada’s National Post, Coulter’s bodyguard decided it’d be unsafe for her to enter the venue on the Ottawa campus.

As many as 2,000 angry students inside and outside the hall — which, by the way, was only half full — chanted “Coulter, go home!”

“This has never, ever, ever happened before, even at the stupidest American university,” Coulter told the paper about the cancellation, her first ever.

Madoff

Someone incarcerated with Palm Beach’s favorite financial adviser, Bernie Madoff, did what hundreds of investors wish they could do.

Madoff, who’s serving 150 years in a federal prison for running a $20 billion-Ponzi scheme, is believed to have received a good whuppin’ at the hands of a beefy fellow inmate.

The assailant was serving time for a drug conviction, today’s Wall Street Journal reports.

Madoff suffered a broken nose, fractured ribs and a cut to his face in the incident, a week before Christmas. He was briefly moved to a nearby medical center on the Butner Federal Correctional Complex in North Carolina.

Why the rough treatment for the former toast of the Palm Beach Country Club? Believe it or not, the WSJ’s sources claim Madoff, owed the big man some cash!

Another interesting Madoff tidbit: Current and former inmates claim the financial sins of the 71-year-old Madoff are considered to be serious street creds, and inmates usually show him respect.

Officials at the North Carolina prison deny that Madoff was assaulted, but admit he was treated at the medical center — for high blood pressure.

Peter DeGeorge

Jupiter richie rich Peter DeGeorge made news lately because he and his brother are suing each other over their dead father’s $200 million-fortune.

But that battle may not be Peter’s only problem.

DeGeorge, 63, was arrested at the Ritz-Carlton in Miami Beach after a nasty fight with his fetching ex-wife Traci, 44.

The two, by the way, are engaged to be remarried! Their split in a Palm Beach County court was final two years ago.

Telling cops “my lawyer is Roy Black,” DeGeorge was hauled off to jail two weeks ago and charged with battery, according to Miami-Dade County records.

Traci told Miami Beach cops summoned to their suite that she saw text-messages between Peter and an ex-girlfriend on his cell phone. That led to an argument.

You nasty thing, Charlie Crist!

The guv went on Greta Van Susteren’s On The Record on Fox News Monday night wondering if his opponent for the U.S. Senate, Marco Rubio, used the Republican party’s credit card to get his back waxed.

Yikes!

Crist is behind in the polls, but still!
