Cedric Dupont’s new anchor on West Palm Beach’s Antique Row boasts $20 million in fine stuff

West Palm Beach’s Antique Row got a lot richer this week with the grand opening of the new, 20,000-square-foot Cedric Dupont Antiques.

Owner Cedric Dupont, 35, designed the two-story superstore at the corner of South Dixie and El Vedado, including details like the moldings, in two different themes. He gave the downstairs a French chateau feel with limestone walls and floors while the upstairs has a elegant, formal Parisian look with its fine oak parquet. Between the two is a staircase that looks like it could be in a Palm Beach mansion.

The new place is a far cry from Dupont’s cramped old store downtown West Palm, from there he moved 41 truck-loads to the new place.

Reggie who? It’s all business for Kim Kardashian amid rumors of split

If reality TV starlet Kim Kardashian (E!’s Keeping Up With The Kardashians) is broken up about her reported second break up with New Orleans Saints running back Reggie Bush, she sure didn’t show it Wednesday at the Bentley Hotel in Miami Beach. That’s where Kardashian celebrated the first anniversary of her online shoe store, shoedazzle.com, with local drag queens, Girls Gone Wild founder Joe Francis, bubbly and paparazzi. Hundreds “chilling” on yearly Antique Row stroll

Despite the too-low-for-the-season temperature, hundreds strolled up and down West Palm Beach’s design district Saturday night for the Young Friends of the Historical Society of Palm Beach County’s yearly Evening on Antique Row. Dixie Highway was shut down to cars between Southern and Greenwood, and visitors got to check out more than 40 acclaimed antique stores. The party then shifted to the pool deck of CityPlace’s South Tower. Check out Michael Price’s gallery of the wingding by clicking here or on the photo:

Red Cross Designers’ Show House preview brings 300-plus interior design fans

One of the most popular rendez-vous of the season, the Red Cross Designers’ Show House, previewed Wednesday night for 300-plus VIPs mostly plucked from the younger, moneyed society.

For a change the event — where 18 interior designers designed their dream rooms — takes place in a downtown West Palm Beach luxury condo building instead of the usual historic lakefront mansions.

The designers invaded four penthouses on the upper floors of the 20-story CityPlace South. (Click on the photo to launch the gallery!)

Another change was a distracting swimwear fashion show by the contemporary line Tibi at the breathtaking 9th floor pool. Well, distracting in a good way.

“The theme of the event and the style that the designers followed is urban vacation pied-a-terre,” said preview event Chairwoman Aime Dunstan.

In addition to visiting the penthouse, guests who pulled out $150 got world-class food by Chef Zach Bell and music by DJ Nick Flash.
