I only spoke with New York Yankees great Joe DiMaggio twice, but I’m pretty sure the crusty old guy wouldn’t have approved!

Still, the 15th Annual South Florida Tattoo Expo was expected to raise more than $50,000 for Hollywood’s Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital.

With average attendance in the Major League Baseball’s basement, the Florida Marlins have been bringing an extra ooomph in the entertainment value of a Saturday night at the ball park with concerts and fireworks. So, the fish had rapper and music mogul Sean Diddy Combs do his thang on stage after losing to the Atlanta Braves Saturday. Well, the seats with butts in them were still pretty scarce, but Combs did rock the joint! (Click here for pictures of the show and other celebs in SoFla)

Camels, belly dancers, jugglers in pharaoh outfits, fire breathers, and thousands of people throughout Thursday night celebrated the official opening of Off the Hookah on Clematis in West Palm Beach. It’s a Middle Eastern-style eatery and night club, a part of a growing restaurant chain started on Las Olas in Fort Lauderdale riding the hookah-smoking fad. Hookahs are ornate water pipes (yes, just like an expensive bong) used in the Middle East to smoke tobacco, at times flavored, in social settings. “We’ll be selling 200 to 250 hookah-smoking experiences a night,” said Off the Hookah manager Aaron DeLang. And at $25 a pop, with the usual fare of shish kebab and baba ganoush, it sorta guarantees the joint will prosper! Click here for Thursday night’s Mike Jachles photo gallery

Decor not western enough for Palm Beach billionaire Bill Koch

Palm Beach energy magnate Bill Koch is on the warpath.

In a lawsuit filed in Palm Beach County Friday, Koch is accusing big-deal New York interior designer Charlotte Moss of not putting enough of a cowboys-and-Indians western motif in his Aspen, Colo., chalet.

Koch hired Moss in 2007, when the billionaire sailor and former winner of the America’s Cup bought the famous Elk Mountain Lodge in Aspen for a whopping $26.4 million.

And, according to Koch’s lawsuit, the contract called for Moss to decorate the 17-bedroom building in a western decor.

Why?

She’s 44, and she admits to light plastic procedures, but former supermodel Cindy Crawford still knows who to light up a red (or, here, purple) carpet. The beauty-product pitchwoman did just that Thursday night, at times with her watering-hole owner of a husband Rande Gerber, at the first anniversary of the W Fort Lauderdale.

EXCLUSIVE: Golfer John Daly wants $100 million for Honda Classic injury

Must be hurting! Daly at the Crowne Plaza Invitational May 29 in Texas (AP Photo)

Golfer John Daly, known as much for his girth and drinking as his powerful swing and funky wardrobe, is no longer looking for a golf payday.

He’s banking on a lawsuit he filed in a Palm Beach County court against several defendants, including a children’s charity.

Daly, 44, wants $100 million because, he says, an injury he suffered at the 2007 Honda Classic in Palm Beach Gardens has damaged his game.

Daly filed two years ago after a woman taking pictures jumped in front of him in mid-swing. Daly claimed in the paperwork he aborted the movement because he feared killing the woman but felt his rib cage pop out. The paperwork reads that Daly and other players unsuccessfully tried three times before the incident to have security kick the unidentified woman off the course.

Daly blamed the injury’s recurrence for his withdrawal from several tournaments this year. He even twittered about retirement.

Now, Daly wants someone to pay for that retirement. The original defendant were the owners of the PGA National Resort, the tournament’s venue. The PGA Tour and the Children’s Healthcare Charity, a local non-profit funded almost entirely with Honda Classic profits, were added later as entities that Daly wants held liable.

Starlet Heidi Montag over the edge; schedules more plastic surgery

Montag

Montag

This would be funny, if it weren’t so tragic.

Attention-seeking reality TV starlet Heidi Montag is about to undergo more plastic surgery.

You read right!

The star of MTV’s The Hills, 23, already went from natural beauty to duck-lipped Barbie doll when she underwent 13 different plastic procedures in one day back in January. And actually, the premiere of The Hills‘ Season Six last week provided a fascinating scene in which Montag was blasted by her folks and sister when she clearly could barely open her mouth to eat.

Now, Montag’s scheduled another breast implant procedure, according to her husband and co-star Spencer Pratt.
