The Palm Beach Post

Goodbye Palm Beach, and thank you!

radaronline_logoIt’s hard to say goodbye when you’re having fun!

Yet, this is my last Page2Live entry.

On Tuesday, I became executive editor of Radar Online, one of the country’s biggest celebrity websites.

The sandbox I get to play in now is a lot larger, and the gig often will take me to Los Angeles and Las Vegas and New York City.

But I leave The Palm Beach Post and the readers who supported me with news tips, kudos and criticism for the past seven years with a heavy heart.

I love Palm Beach County and the Treasure Coast, and not just because it’s my home. There are few places in this country as quirky as Palm Beach, Stuart, Boca and Wellington. News people who work here know they’re lucky because, indeed, there never is a dull moment.

DUI killer in minimum security camp

Zegeye

Zegeye

The former Benjamin School student who pleaded guilty to being drunk when he drove into another car stopped at a red light  in Palm Beach Gardens two and a half years ago, killing the driver, has found a new home.

Beruch Zegeye is expected to celebrate his 20th birthday this summer at the minimum-security Lancaster Correctional Institution near Gainesville.

He’s scheduled to be released in January 2017 although he could receive credit for good behavior.

Lancaster is listed as a medium- to low-security camp for young criminals, and that isn’t sitting well with his victim’s family.

According to the Florida Department of Corrections’ website, the camp houses about 570 offenders between 19 and 24 years old in dorms.

Lancaster is mandated to provide its residents with 12 hours of a day of activities and classes like graphic and culinary arts, sports, weight training and wellness.

Oh, yes: There’s a stress management program, too.

Ex-running back Tucker Frederickson tackled by divorce

Tucker and Sherry, in happier days

Tucker and Sherry, in happier days

Former New York Giants first-round draft pick and north county developer Tucker Frederickson has been hit by a divorce filing.

His wife of 22 years and the mother of his four children, homemaker Sherry Frederickson, filed in Palm Beach County family court last month and alleges that he squandered marital assets on people other than her.

Sherry, 51, claims her relationship with the college football hall of famer has undergone “an irretrievable breakdown” and their marital bond was severed.

She also accuses Tucker, 68, an All-American at Auburn University in 1964, of “dissipating assets by conferring them upon associates, relatives, paramours.”

Said Sherry’s attorney, Stuart’s Josh Ferraro: “We’re hoping we can resolve this matter quickly and quietly.”

Tucker’s lawyer didn’t return calls for comment but his response to the divorce petition shows he denies wasting marital dollars and keeping galpals.

Still, Sherry wants “a disproportionate” share of the marital assets because she always depended on Tucker for financial support.

She also wants the couple’s $1.5 million home at Seminole Landing, the fancy North Palm Beach community that golfer Tiger Woods‘ ex-wife, Elin Nordegren, now calls home.

As much Woofstock as fund-raiser for the Safe Harbor Animal Rescue, Saturday afternoon’s 24th Annual Celebrity Dog Wash brought more than 5,000 to Carlin Park in Jupiter.

For 10 bucks a pop, dog owners could have their pooches cleaned — with soap, and all — by area media celebrities like WZZR radio’s Love Doctors and Josh Cohen and the Hometeam, and KOOL’s Mo & Sally; WPBF-Channel 25’s Terri Parker, WPTV-Channel 5’s John Favole and WPEC’s Juan Carlos Fanjul and Suzanne Boyd, among others.

And those more musically included got to sit on the lawn for the high-energy 1980s music of Gretchen Bonaduce (Danny’s ex) and the 1970s sound of Grand Funk Railroad.

Elin Nordegren, the long-suffering ex-wife of philandering golfer Tiger Woods, plunked down $12.2 million for a house (above and below) in the exclusive enclave of Seminole Landing near North Palm Beach, Page2Live has learned.

The beachfront mansion dwarfs in size Woods‘ own new digs in Jupiter Island, about 10 miles north, also on the beach.

The 30-year-old Nordegren and the ex-couple’s two children are set to leave their Orlando area home and move into 12520 Seminole Beach Road within the next few weeks.

I’m also told Nordegren, a former nanny, has been looking at private daycare centers and schools for the two ninos for weeks.
